5th park in the TTC parking lot?

Kevin Yee at MiceAge is reporting that an eventual 5th gate may go where the TTC/MK parking lot is right now and a parking structure would be built near the Shades of Green. This is all a long ways off and in the blue sky stage, but it is interesting. The obvious advantage being that it would automatically be linked to 2 other parks via the monorail.

I know some initial plans for the Epcot theme park had it located near the TTC, but I thought the long range plans had the area near the Wide World of Sports for a future theme park.

Personally, I don't like this idea. The MK area would become too congested and busy. It would lose it's isolated feeling.

Hmm, a new parking structure and a new park in the MK parking lot? Disney's Florida Adventure?

One item that I'm curious about is if anyone knows the dimensions of the MK parking lot? I read the article and didn't see it mentioned and was wondering how it compares to the footprints of the other parks.

Ask yourself this....did you know that the entire Disneyland park can fit into the parking lot of MK at DisneyWorld? Interesting, isn't it? Not to say DL is small, it's just that the lot at WDW can house so many vehicles.

If the economy was not what it is now, and things went according to Walt's vision, there'd be a plethora of parks, resorts, and other elements on Property...the specific information is astounding.

I personally can't imagine a park there because of it's close proximity to everything else, plus the limited area. If you look at the space between AK and MK, as well as the area in proximity to the campgrounds, you'd see that some of that is quite ideal.

But we shall see. Even though I don't work there anymore, I feel like I still do and wish I did. Yet with what I do now, I make a hell of a lot more!

you also have to think about the fact that the 2 parks fireworks shows would obviously disrupt eachother since they were so close.

in my opinion, i dont think that this is true and/ or going to happen.

but i am a mere mortal.

Keep in mind though, they figured out having Illuminations and Fantasmic in relatively close proximity. Not to say I like the idea of having another park this close to the MK, though.

I find this to be a very silly considering how much space is actually left on property. I persoanlly don't think there is enough space to build a decent size park, plus all the services that go with in on the car park. Also I don't think there is enough space by SoG to build a super-size car park.

Maybe the new park would have a different nighttime show instead of fireworks, or not even have one as it would be close to MK and Epcot. I'm sure Eisner is thinking about the money that could be saved.

I don't think this would happen.
There are so many possible locations for a new theme park, much better suited then this.
I also don't think that Disney is ready for another park yet - AK is not even complete. I think Beastly Kingdom has got more change of being greenlit then a 5th gate.

oh i know, anything is possible, i just cant decide if i like the idea of a multi level parking deck. i know it is compact and saves space, but if they are to tall they are an eye sore.

i guess we will see.

did he predict the theme.

Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom parking lot is large enought to fit all of Disneyland in it and still have room to park 500 cars. Learned this on a bus ride into the magic kingdom. Neat Huh?

Is this 5th park going to be a NASCAR theme???? Or will they remove the track, cant see them leaving it there. But I think if and when a 5th park comes it should be place somewhere else.... to near the MK for me. Guess I need to go read the write-up.

Yeah, apologies to Kevin (a real nice guy) but someone has been feeding him a line. This ain't gonna happen.

Although...I DO like the parking structure idea, like the one at DL.
