5th park in the TTC parking lot?

I really don't like this rumor either seeing as there are how many acres of property left. The location isn't very good IMO either. I feel that I would detract from the drive to MK seeing as the way it is now, is the way its been for 33 years. If the wanted to link another park to the monorail, I say build another TTC smaller in scale and put the park just to the north of Epcot or a little to the Northwest just on the othe side of World Dr. This way it could just be linked to a location on the Epcot monorail. Thats just my two cents.

A parking structure WAS being considered for a new TTC to be built. But that was all the blue-sky plan etc. Not going to happen now.

I don't think Eisner's going to have much influence on a 5th park, because nothing of that scale is going to be built during the remainder of his time at Disney.

WDW has more than enough room to build a 5th park w/ it's own parking lot in plenty of other places on the property. Trust me, WDW does NOT want a parking structure. They're tall, ugly, and I imagine quite expensive compared to regular flat paved parking lots. It was the only option for saving space at DL, something which is certainly not a problem at WDW.

This is a little off topic but, Nascar does not race at that track just the Richard petty driving exp. Pretty sure it is used for racing by Indy or Cart.
Also I do not like the idea of a 5th park in the lot, I would hope that they would not do it just for the monorail either. I think there were reasons thet they put CA in DL parking lot but I dont see the same reasons here. BTW this is all a long way off....

Remember that not all portions of the WDW property may be built on. I believe the areas north and west of Epcot are nature preserves, so they cannot be developed.

In pictures of the old master plan I have seen, there are two main areas marked for attraction development. The area to the north of the Wide World of Sports is one. The other is across World Drive from MGM, near Blizzard Beach. There was a rumor a while ago that MGM would expand into this area, but I don't think that is likely.

Thats not exactly true anymore. Originally there were about 10,000 acres that could not be built on, this included the land Celebration is on. To accomplish this the Walt Disney Company bought a ton of land a few miles south of WDW. This area is now known as the Disney Wilderness Preserve. Now all the land within WDW itself can be developed.

It is used ONLY for the Richard Petty Driving Experiance now. They used to hold the Indy 200 there, but they haven't done that in years.

I think plain and simple, a 5th gate is way off into the future. I agree with most in that if they did build another park, the TTC would be a bad place for it. Possibly one would work just south of the TTC on the left hand side of the main road (see the photo on the first page). If you did that you could put the park anywhere between the TTC and Coronodo Springs.

Keep in mind though, they figured out having Illuminations and Fantasmic in relatively close proximity.

I would disagree with that we were stood in a position at epcot that allowed you site of the MK fireworks, we had seen this before at Halloween but there was a difference in show times. this summer the two shows were simultaneous and it was a little distracting not a good idea IMHO

A 5th gate is not needed now, and I question if it is needed in 2010....maybe 2015, but.....for not the market is saturated.

I think the most ideal location would either be near the intersection of Epcot and World Drives (West of World Drive) or on Osceola Parkway....with the amount of land WDW has left, there is no need to build on top of the MK resorts.

Also, when highway 429 is built in the next 3 years, this road will run along the west side of the WDW property.....just west of DAK, but it will have a connection road that meets up with Epcot Center Drive at World Drive, so, with this interchange there, the SW corner of it would make an ideal location.

I personally think a parking structure would be great. Your car doesn't have to sit outside, AND they can save money by not using PL trams. It works wonders for Universal Orlando, don't see why it couldn't do the same here.

As for a park on the TTC land....I'd only like it if the park were to be DFA.

I think a Disney Florida Adventure would be a worse idea than Disney California adventure. DCA was a stab at getting a second park into an area realistically big enough for one. Due to the international nature of WDW (more so than DL) I think that something a little more non culture specific would be better. I actually would love to see something along the lines of Disney Sea in WDW. The photos I have seen of that park are awsome and I think it would be a great addition to the parks that are currently at WDW.

And we all know how successful DCA has been thusfar.

I don't think they'll add a 5th gate until demand warrants it. Better to keep up the existing infrastructure than to build new.

Yes I agree. They need to bring back the orriginal Journey into your imagination, 20,000 leagues under the sea, and Mr. Toad before any new park is built....unless, its a retro park and all the rides of the past have a new home.....................

Unless you're really familiar w/ WDW, one of the best things about it is how vast it seems, and how you can completely loose your orientation while driving around it and visiting the parks. A new park within sight of the MK would ruin this.

Also, Kevin said that the TTC would be a good location for a new park because it's already the hub of WDW. Well, it wouldn't be a hub if you built a new park there.

Hey djmatthews, where did you get the sattelite photo from? I'd like to check that site out.

I really can't remember, but if you look in my photo album, I think there is a larger resolution version. If not, email or PM me with your email address and I'll email you a copy. Just to reiterate, I'm not sure where I got it from, so if I got it from someone on here, I apologise... I'm just sharing the magic

This isn't exactly true either. While I am unfamiliar with the Preserve, I know for a fact that some of the WDW land is protected because of it's status as wetlands. That is why the treetop villas remain to decay.
