I know it's a bit early, but Screamscape has already heard something:

Resort News - (11/5/07) As we move closer to a likely 16 month long WDW 40th Anniversary celebration (Oct 1st, 2011), we’ve heard an early rumor suggesting that they may celebrate by promoting a major new attraction to each of the four parks, similar to how things went down in 2005/2006 when they added Everest, Lights Motor Action, and Soaring. In the meantime we’ve heard that Disney may also have drawn up plans to add a major new attraction to both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach over the next couple of years. Anyone know more?

Sounds cool if it happens. :D

Screamscape has been so unreliable lately, it's hard to say. Though, I think the odds are very good you'll see someting in DHS by 2011-12 - as they continue to (finally) upgrade the park. Animal Kingdom is still expanding, so while they just got Everest I could see another new attraction there over the next 5 years also. Magic Kingdom is due for a new E-Ticket and Epcot hasn't seen anything new since Mission: Space! which will be a decade old by then.

I think 40th anniversary aside, it's not unlikely that each park will have a new attraction in the next 4-5 years.

I hope it is true (the 40th anniversary celebration) - I hope to go in April, 2012 because I'll be in Tampa for other reasons already.

Typhoon Lagoon is getting something new as we speak (I think) There was clear land by Crush n Gusher and material for a new slide the day before it closed for rehab.

I always trust a source that is supposedly big fans and yet calls the Epcot attraction "Soaring"

Actually Mission:Space won't be a decade old until 2013 (officially opened October 2003)

I dont think we will get a new attraction at each park but its certainly safe to expect a major e-ticket for magic kingdom as well as several new additions to Disney's Hollywood.

Well, sort of. That land was cleared about a year ago, and a new basketball court for Cast Members was put back there, and the boneyard (where old materials are kept, such as old reefs from Shark Reef and old slide parts being replaced) was extended. It could be used for future expansion, however as of August, I hadn't heard any such ideas. Not to say it isn't going to happen, but for now that's a staging area.

I here you there. One Other thing to add, Mount Everest Wasn't Part of the 50th Celebration. :hammer:

Actually, Everest was, I remember them still having the 50th signs up when everest was in previews. It was part of the second year or something, just like TSM will be for the second "year" of a million dreams.

I remember someone posting something about a new Typhoon Lagoon attraction sometime ago where it was supposed to be something like those newer types of water attractions that feature people riding on boogie boards as they surf a perfect, constant wave. They are in a few other places like Schlitterbaun and some cruise lines have it.

I was hoping that would be true since it looks cool, but haven't heard of it since. Maybe they are plainning on it if the rumor is true.

I don't think most of us would argue against MK, DHS and AK getting a new e-ticket within the next 5 years or so. But Epcot? Besides the expansion sites in the WS ,the only area open for expansion in Wonders of Life, no?

You are correct, Lucky was the first year(even though he was there for like 2 months or something like that), Everest was the second year.

Epcot has PLENTY of room for expansion and there have been more than a few rumors than an E-ticket is in the pipeline (a lot of rumors point to World Showcase). This 40th rumor is anything but unheard of--there have been rumblings about it for awhile now, and given the timing of things right now, I would not be at all surprised if these rumors are true. All of the parks are already rumored to be receiving E-Tickets soon, and since it typically takes 3 years to build an E-Ticket, we could see announcements as soon as next summer for 2011 rides. This is not as far off as you might thing giving Disney's glacial construction pace.

Right...that's why I said "what about Soarin"? That is a new E-Ticket that came after Mission Space.
If you look at the whole picture, Soarin is not new it is a copy of the attraction at DCA. ONE DAY! ONE DAY! It's almost here, we takeoff at 6 am tomorrow. :snore:
