4/25/05 - Very large Everest photo update!

Hey folks, just came back from the world and took a ton of photos... Here is a huge photo update of the ongoing construction on Everest over at Disney's Animal Kingdom!

*I'd be more than happy to share my photos with you, all you have to do is ask and give proper credit... don't just take them without asking, because thats just not nice. :animwink:

Hmmmm...there are what appear to be wooden pilings in front of the mountain now. I wonder what is going on!

I was just thinking about something after looking at those wonderful pictures. Seeing the rock work go up on the mountain, got me thinking: How are they going to get the yeti into the mountain? Is there still a gaping hole on the other side, the side we cannot see? Is the yeti going to be brought in parts and assembled inside the ride? If the yeti already in the mountain? I'm just a little curious.. Maybe I am retarded...

Is it just me, or is the track that goes up and into the mountain on the front left new? I do not remember seeing it before. It appears to be connected to the curved track in the middle. The construction wall is obstructing my view.

It looks like there are some pretty steep curves in there.

I'm assuming the pilings may be for some sort of canopy such as maybe another rock formation or a tent?

Disney bought the Old King Kong animatronic from Universal ..since it's a Bob Gurr Design (and he is an Imagineer ). All they had too do was spray paint the black fur white and re-color his eyes blue,add a new voice soundtrack and smell and the yeti is reborn.











It's fun to scare everyone with that type of scenerio of Disney buying and doing things on the cheap,lol. :lol: :hammer: :sohappy:

did u happen to notice if all the AK banners had lucky on them now? Because on the last photo update we got from someone the AK banners did not have Lucky.

Those could be railroad ties for the tracks.
