They have already done a Central Fla show.. it was on last month or the month before.

I found the show to be in very bad taste! Not because of the content, glad they get these guys off the streets, but because they make a business/ratings deal out of it. I know I will be harpooned for this, but I don't think showing this stuff on TV is needed. Same as showing the death penalty on TV.

I say the same thing about the Jerry Springer show all the time, but to no avail....

I sort of see where you're coming from on this.

Honestly, I can't pass up one of those Chris Hansen shows when they come on. Anytime I'm flipping and I see one, I go "the pervert show's on!" Part of me watches to see the kinds of things these guys try to get away with and see how many different kinds of men get caught. And then another part of me watches just to be entertained by watching them squirm when Chris busts them.

I do sometimes feel a twinge of guilt being entertained by some poor loser's downfall. but if they keep making them, I'll keep watching them.

It's a lot better than the stupid reality shows on that have no value whatsoever.

First the verdict, then the trial.

Like someone said earlier, if this was a sting operation and they have the chat transcripts on file, the trial is somewhat of a formality. We didn't wait until after Saddam was convicted to call him a killer. (Yes, I recognize the extreme nature of the analogy, but I think it's somewhat apropos.)

Exactly. We dont have to wait around until after some pervert abuses a child when they are caught going to a staged address, out in the middle of nowhere, having stopped by the drug store to pick up a six pack and a six pack. Its pretty obvious and I dont need to wait until some judge lets them off the hook to call a pervert a pervert....but thats jut my opinion, and I tend to be trite extreem.....

Chris Hanson: "Have a seat..."

Guy: "uhhhh ummm uuuhhhh"

Chris Hanson: "What are you doing here?"

Guy: "I was just delivering a YOMD prize"

Chris Hanson: "Try again... I have your chat transcript... is your chat name "H0rIzNz4EvAR" ?

Don't get me wrong I think the sting is great and applaud it 100%. I do question the media though in only releasing one company name. I heard this on national news today and the only mention about the people nabbed is that 3 of them reportedly worked for Disney. Why was no other companies names used? I can see this as slander if I was Disney.

Disney World is loaded with kids... and these guys are [alleged] predators.

So... if any one of them drove a school bus, worked in a school or day care, or worked near/around/directly with children in general... I am sure they would have been singled out as well. So my guess is that none of the others did work in such a close proximty with kids  I dunno... I dont have all 28 police reports in front of me.

These guys are creeps [allegedly]... and they need to be singled out.. due to their jobs/careers being associated in/near/around close proximity with children.

Plus, Disney boasts about how well their employees are screened. Apparently a few slipped between the cracks (allegedly).

Disney was mentioned because it is more news worthy than saying the three guys worked for a large corporation, say like a well known soft drink company or something. . It has been said, Disney must/should do all it can to make sure that people who work for them are squeaky clean. That being said, if these guys have never been arrested before then it is a little hard to know that they are perverted. I too agree that there is a rush to judge BUT if it walks like a duck (shows up to a sting house), talks like a duck (talks on-line to whoever they think is a young person) it must be a duck. These guys are perverts, plain and simple. Lock them up and throw away the key.

It's sad to say but our children are not safe from these creeps, anywhere. So there was a couple that worked there, think about all of them that are in the parks visiting.

I live in a small town and our police dept has done kind of the same thing and arrested some people here. What is wrong with these people? I just don't understand it.

Does anyone recall the movie, Minority Report, with Tom Cruise.

I am not a big fan of the couch jumping crazy but this movie popped immediately into my mind as I read this post.

Where would we draw the line if what happens in this movie were to become possible. Would cheating on your taxes be enough?

There is a reason for innocent until proven guilty. The biggest of which is discovering in what context the alleged event took place. Until the preponderance of evidence is in favor of a conviction, I withold my verdict.

The only reason the news media picks up on these stories is for ratings and by the end of the day every news outlet in the world is covering it so why make it so sensational. To be honest, I am becoming very tired of these stories day in and day out. Its seriously beginning to look as if we should all lock ourselves in to our homes for fear of what might happen.

Also, there is a legal difference between sexual predator and sexual offender. Someone who committed a first offense would have to do something very serious to get a predator label right out of the gate. Its not unheard of, just not all that likely. Again, everyone is innocent until proven guilty.

As for Disney's screening, I would bet that it is better than some school districts. However, if no crime has been comitted previously, how does one separate the bad from the good?
