Exactly. We dont have to wait around until after some pervert abuses a child when they are caught going to a staged address, out in the middle of nowhere, having stopped by the drug store to pick up a six pack and a six pack. Its pretty obvious and I dont need to wait until some judge lets them off the hook to call a pervert a pervert....but thats jut my opinion, and I tend to be trite extreem.....
Does anyone recall the movie, Minority Report, with Tom Cruise.
I am not a big fan of the couch jumping crazy but this movie popped immediately into my mind as I read this post.
Where would we draw the line if what happens in this movie were to become possible. Would cheating on your taxes be enough?
There is a reason for innocent until proven guilty. The biggest of which is discovering in what context the alleged event took place. Until the preponderance of evidence is in favor of a conviction, I withold my verdict.
The only reason the news media picks up on these stories is for ratings and by the end of the day every news outlet in the world is covering it so why make it so sensational. To be honest, I am becoming very tired of these stories day in and day out. Its seriously beginning to look as if we should all lock ourselves in to our homes for fear of what might happen.
Also, there is a legal difference between sexual predator and sexual offender. Someone who committed a first offense would have to do something very serious to get a predator label right out of the gate. Its not unheard of, just not all that likely. Again, everyone is innocent until proven guilty.
As for Disney's screening, I would bet that it is better than some school districts. However, if no crime has been comitted previously, how does one separate the bad from the good?
