I think the provisional restart date for DCL is early December. All 4 ships are in Europe, maybe they’ll start with European itineraries first. The DCL sub- forum regulars will have better insight though.

Given you can’t leave the US, and most of Europe is being ravaged again, I doubt it.

However clearly DCL is hoping to restart sometime in the foreseeable future, otherwise wouldn’t they leave people on furlough for now?

Your glib reduction of my point is pathetic and mean-spirited. I have nothing but compassion for the people (including many family and close personal friends) who have lost their jobs after almost a year of not being able to work.

There is a “temporary insanity” about this going on in the United States...more than usual.

If I had to assess it...and you know I will...the craziness of the political endgame - combined with declining economic indicators (the power brokers care more about that) - combined with our health stats not trending well - combined with the realization/denial that we wasted the warm season...has caused a mindset that is really detached.

People seem to be “hoping” all is progressing...when few actually believe it is at all.

The next month will probably end up in a different mind set no matter how the individual chess pieces go.

Here we go again with an entertainment company cutting entertainment. This is terrible for all involved and my thoughts go out for all the CMs involved with these layoffs.

DCL shipboard crew start receiving call backs today

The calls starting going out last week to the crew. Many of them are traveling in mid-november. This is subject to change given the recent uptick in infection rates. This continues to be a sad time for the cast and area.

When HR called me they said they are ready to sail mid December as long as nothing big changes. People being called back are for guest facing roles not needed while others in operation, so it appears this is the goal.
