Have you priced flights for the summer time?

No not yet. I’m sure they are super cheap right? My wife is going on 5 months pregnant. My son is 4.5 years old so I don’t think it’s the right time for WDW. With that said, if they offer some irresistible vacation package I would consider it. I’m bored at home and dreaming of a vacation.

I'd wait until both of your kids are old enough to be able to handle, at the very least, a lot of walking before you bite the bullet on a WDW trip.

If DLR is at all a hassle with your four year old...magnify that many times at WDW with its larger parks, much more complicated logistics for everything and the corresponding need to not only plan but plan with contingencies and be willing to adapt if need be (FP, dining, characters, you name it; one day we got to Typhoon Lagoon at opening, only for them to announce it wouldn't open for the day, so we had to hightail it to Blizzard Beach), and brutal summer humidity that'll bring out the worst in your family and the others around you if you/they aren't used to it.

WDW is many things, but relaxing, casual, or low key it is not.

Pretty cheap from my area anyway! I’m with you, I already purchased DL tickets and my brother said he called (he also purchased DL tickets) and asked if they would credit towards WDW tickets and they said no. They said whenever he returned to the DLR they would credit him his full purchase price towards the price of admission then. I’m not sure what they’d do if pressed about a refund. But I’d rather a WDW trip not be under the circumstances it will likely be under in the foreseeable future. New experiences at DLR could be kinda cool though since we have been there like 7 times before!

DLR is sometimes wonderful with my son and it’s sometimes a nightmare. Depends on a few different factors but yeah I agree with you. It’s why I haven’t pulled the trigger on a WDW “vacation” yet.

Yes highly recommend YouTube for resort walk throughs, there are thousands of them. Half of enjoying the WDW bubble is enjoying the resorts and their amenities. In fact , even if you don’t stay at a deluxe , make a point to carve out some hours exploring and grabbing a meal - AKL , WL, Poly, boardwalk, etc , it’s a nice break

I went to Jiko in the AKL on my trip last year and it was incredible. I can't help much about morning transportation, that was handled by the people who arranged the trip from my dad's company so for the initial morning ride to the park I have no experience, but getting out of parks at night it definitely gets crowded. From what my friends have told me I would recommend the Pop with the Skyliner, I was there before they finished building it so I never got to try it. From what I hear now it is easy to hop on the Skyliner and quickly get to HS or Epcot and from there you could take a bus somewhere else or the monorail from Epcot to MK, I just don't know where the Skyway is in relation to the monorail entrance so that might be a walk / convoluted way to get to MK trying to avoid a bus. I wish I explored the rest of the resorts on my trip, we only had 3 days and were kinda rushed but before our dinner at Jiko exploring the AKL was extremely fun, it's just very far and out of the way compared to other parks to give animals space so they aren't frightened by fireworks and such from other parks I believe? I want to go to the Boardwalk, my dad stayed once when he was younger and told me it was incredible. It looked beautiful while we were on the boat on 7 Seas Lagoon I think it's called?

I hope you are able to go on your trip eventually, either to WDW or DLR, I think both are fun and if only Orlando is open at the time I know you will still have a blast, it's a different experience from DLR for sure but that doesn't mean it's bad, I had way more fun than I anticipated on my trip and I actually really want to go back since I only had 3 days and missed so much stuff because I had so few days + work events I had to go to in the evenings so I lost time having to go back to the hotel room, getting dressed, getting to the events, and then going back and either going to the parks in nicer clothes or changing and losing more time.

EDIT: I know I was shorter on time than usual and I probably didn't "spend my time wisely" so that's why I missed a lot, but Park Hopping was definitely nice even on my shorter days. Some times my parents and I wanted to go to Epcot to try more food for lunch when we had been at Animal Kingdom and while I know every park has fantastic food options and we definitely ate in each one, I found it fun being able to hop into Epcot to go get a quick snack / get some Frushi and relax and enjoy the views of the World Showcase before returning to Animal Kingdom or going over to Magic Kingdom for Happily Ever After!

Your wife is going to be miserable with the heat there. Your better off taking just your son.

Florida isn't always dreadful. The winter can be quite pleasant. I'm strict on requiring jeans. I do not wear shorts. Having been there at the hottest time, it's still not that bad. Epcot and Animal Kingdom are the worst. AK has shade but seems to just contain the heat and humidity. Epcot always feels like the parking lot on a hot afternoon. Going in to AC buildings feels incredible.

Does anyone have any experience with GO Airport shuttle?

We are flying into Burbank airport, and options to get to the Disneyland resort area seem to be limited.

I looked into the train, but it doesn't leave for hours after we arrive, so that seems like it's out.

Any other ideas?

Is rideshare not an option for you?

I'd probably rather pay more to have a direct shuttle to our hotel or Uber or Lyft to save time and hassle.

It seems like all the shuttle companies are gone at this point though.
I looked into that GO shuttle and it doesn't look like it would be any cheaper than doing Lyft/Uber.

Seems like you're going to pay upwards of maybe $200-250 round trip with rideshare or shuttle, or be at the mercy of train schedules, or perhaps you can consider just renting a car? How many days are you planning to be in SoCal?
