While I never attended the MNSSSH, am I the only person who would mostly want to visit WDW besides Universal's Halloween Horror Nights? I guess it's due to how intense some of the stuff they have during the night compared to WDW. Than again it's only for guests 18 and older and mostly have R rated horror movie theme attractions.

I must be really lucky. All of the times I have gone in the last few years have been what I consider to be dead. A bit later in the evening I was able to walk on POTC and even have the boat to myself most times. And I never saw a line longer then 20 min. And have always been able to find a good spot for the parade without being there and hour early. I always go on a Tuesday night so maybe it is the slowest night of the week.

Even on busy party nights, attractions generally have extremely short lines. Most are walk ons, especially later at night. It's the parade and character meet and greets that get very busy. But in general, finding a spot for the late parade is manageable.

It's harder to find a place for the pRade on main street. We walked up in frontier land and sat right down as the parade started.

So the rumor, started by multiple phone CM's, is that booking will open tomorrow for an up-charge party within MNSSHP. From the sounds of it, it will be like the regular Wishes dessert party held on the Tomorrowland Terrace, with Halloween themed desserts. No word on characters, or reserved parade viewing, with this party.

I don't think I'd want to watch Hallowishes from the Terrace. You'd miss all the perimeters.

I normally roll my eyes at the party-within-a-party business, but my 13year old niece would really dig it, even if just for the desserts.

Any update about the added party?

It was added this morning, I reserved two seats on the 1st. Reserved area for the first parade and then move over to the Terrace for desserts. I stumbled upon it by accident before I check in to wdwmagic and was pleasantly surprised.... that and ressies at Crystal beforehand at 7 so we can just stroll over after dinner. I did have Cindy's at the same time, but a quickly swapped that to our next MNSSHP on the 6th. Lots of wonderful ressies available this morning.

So with the exception of the new stage show, is there anything else new/changes this year?

Does anyone have any information regarding additional changes this year? I'm always a little nervous about further changes to the generally excellent Halloween parade and fireworks.

I'm hoping the Soiree comes back.

I dont think its going to happen. Cindy's has availability for Dining reservations during the party... I think that was the real kicker aside from the logistical challenges.. lost dining dollars (different cost center for special events vs restaurant operations).

so in order to watch the parade from the best spot you have to buy a $70 dessert party ticket, after already buying a $70 ticket for the event? this stuff seems to be getting out of control

Best spot is questionable as its now at the flagpole. (I bet they're going to escort the party-goers through the bypass to Tomorrowland Terrace ) They are not going to grab center stage in front of the castle this year.

I just prefer to look directly down main st with the castle in the background for photos.

Am i missing the point of this? What is the $70 getting above and beyond original hard ticket event? Are you getting $70 worth of desserts? I don't see the parade/fireworks viewing spots adding any value what-so-ever.

Neither do I, but I guess some people really stress out about trying to get a decent place to watch the parade and fireworks shows and would happily pay a premium to avoid having to spend the time and uncertainty of doing so.

There's also a subset of Disney World fans who buy every upcharged everything out of principal.

Viewing from the Terrace is not the best, you are far from the parade and cannot see the perimeter fireworks.

I have seen the fireworks from inside and outside the park. Outside was at the Poly in 2010. The parade, from my memory in 2001, was very interesting. The fireworks, even in 2010 were very interesting.

I've never been to this event or the Christmas one. I think the last time we looked at pricing for the Christmas one, it was in the $50-$60 range (maybe 5 years ago?) We have annual passes every other year, and thought we might do one of these in the off year to get a little Disney fix. After reading all these comments about how crowded it is and so forth, I'm a little discouraged. I don't need to be a superfan LOL.
