Not everybody park hops. In fact, I would say if half the people hop on a given day, that's a lot.

I'm not trying to deny the state the Disney parks are in. I'm simply saying, a list like this just doesn't tell me much. I've never been to CP, but I have no doubt, it's probably an awesome thrill ride park. If you're looking for top notch roller coasters, you better search somewhere other than Disney. Everybody knows that. Disney's niche is in the details.

I would argue that point from conversations I have with other guests on my visits so I will call that one a stalement having no hard or vague numbers although I strongly feel there is a ton of hopping from AK with the junk hours it has. Point being that you shouldn't have to hop with a pass given for dining. It should not happen for night time entertainment as each park should have it's own. Parks around the country are holding people for multiple days in one park. WDW should be able to and doing the same. Just because people can hop to fill a day with Disney Parks does not mean that that should be occuring.

Disney has lost that Niche of details. A coaster park can still have an attention to details, see SWO, UNI, BGW, UNI, Knott's, etc.

Do you see what I posted at the exact time you did? Great toilet minds think alike!

I will do my best to get some great new DCA restroom pics!

Toilet minds?! Sounds like a chapter for your magnum opus. Wait, you mean unbridled excitement over Tangled restrooms isn't normal?! I was hoping to reserve my visit to them with FP+...

I live 40 miles from Cedar Point and have been there dozens of times.

No blinders here regarding WDW but seriously...does anyone here consider Cedar Point to the the standard to which WDW should aspire???

The staff is ambivalent and barely english speaking (not an insult--they recruit heavily in eastern European countries.) The park is dirty from dawn to dusk with stained, gum-covered sidewalks. The food is forgettable. Entertainment is embarrassing.

A handful of rides are undeniably thrilling. (Although the last couple of years have brought really lame swing variations solely designed to fill the "bigger, higher, faster" quotient.)

If you're a coaster junkie, it's paradise. But I refuse to get worked-up over a survey which suggests Cedar Point offers a superior product than any of the Disney parks.

Reminds me of major sports all-star fan balloting. Pablo Sandoval must be the best third baseman in the National League because the fans said so, right?

I don't consider Universal or Sea World to be coaster parks. And Sea World certainly isn't an all day park either. To be honest, I find very few of the big name theme parks to be all day parks. For me, the thing with Universal and Disney parks is that I enjoy visiting them repeatedly. Once I've been on a Six Flags coaster a couple of times, I'm done. From what I hear about CP, I'd probably feel the same way.

I would simply argue that none of the parks you list above are what I'd term a 'coaster park' ... That's Six Flags, Cedar Fair type places. Some of those parks listed have 2-3 coasters. That's pretty much Disney territory. I think you need to get above half a dozen before you begin to consider a park a coaster park.

I will not argue with that whatsoever. The angle I see is the updating and changing of their lineup. WDW offers an outstanding product but lacking in the innovation and upkeep area. CP is ahead in keeping the park fresh and reasons to go back (disregarding theme, etc.)

I would certainly include toilet hijinks of many varieties in said opus.

As for DCA, I am excited by the fact the Paradise Gardens restrooms still have the original Route 66 interior and tiles work. Maybe I should get pics of them ... some blogger has to have beaten me to it. With the amount most eat, they tend to spend a lot of MAGICal time in them.

It depends on what you mean by innovation. Again, I can't comment much on CP having never been there, but I don't consider state of the art roller coasters to be "where it's at", and I love roller coasters. Perfect example is HRRR. I'd take BTMRR anyday over it.

Six at BGW including Grover and the new one one would be seven including Grover. BGT has eight ;) (including Grover)

Whoops did I say BGW has another one in early works? Thinking of special fireworks at EPCOT on the first has me all twisted in the head today.

Never been to CP. No real desire to ever visit. I like coasters, but not a park full of them.

But I'd use your analogy to the MK ... it's No. 1 in the world (supposedly), so it must be best, right?

We call that the WDW fanboi Walmart argument. And it holds about as much water as a dixie cup.

Coasters may not be seen as innovation as they are outdone within at least six months of one opening. Main object is they are changing some of the hooks. What E-ticket hook has WDW added? Why did I not go to MK on my August trip? Because Dumbo is not a draw nor hook when others in the area have outstanding offerings.

Most of us (regularly) admit that WDW is in desperate need of work. That said, I noticed that this little gem made the list for "Best Dark Ride 2012". I can imagine that this has some kind of nostalgic appeal for some but...

That's what MAGICal pyro tags can do for you ... oh, and let's not forget all that special LE merchandise that will only be available on that one day (or eBay after). Who doesn't want Horizons 30 and WoM 30 pins, even over a decade after they were demolished and replaced with lesser attractions? I know who does ... most WDW fanbois!

Speaking of which, is vinylmation already crashing and not becoming the next pin scam from the wonders of Disney merchandise? 'cause my outlet store has been dumping them by the truckload since June (at least) at as low as $2 a piece.

I love BGW, as you know, but I'd hate to think that five years from now the place will have 10 coasters ... that would be a big turnoff. And I love every coaster they have now.

I heard retro shirts will be everywhere and retro pins and scavenger hunts and dessert parties TOO!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not going to bring up the permits for the resort that have been filed. NOPE! Not going to do it!

I don't know, I don't mind pins because I like the cast exclusive lanyard ones. Adds another demension to the trip outside of the ole rides.

Before two more are added as is you will see one get removed. Fairly confident on that one. They have always been tasteful with adding those and will continue to do so. Even with the coming darkride(s?). I have to stop. Must put the DME tags in a safe under the house.

I'm going to have Lee smuggle out 7-8 pounds of dessert items for me if he attends ... maybe he can wear spandex pants with ziplock bags sewn into them.

I liked the idea of pins a dozen years ago. I don't now. They became just a way to take advantage of ODC fanbois.

And you can put any BGW rumors or news here and it'll go over, under and around the heads of almost everyone!

Vinylmation is awful. I never really got that whole thing, and I really don't see the appeal.

I have to admit I bought one this summer. One of the bigger ones ($14.99 from $35) of Sam Eagle from the Muppets for my office. I love the character and you don't see any merchandise at all of him anywhere.

And I bought $20 worth of a few sets (WDW 40th, Tron) when they were selling these $12.95-$16.95 ones for $2 a piece.

That's it. And likely all I'll ever get.

I don't like them in general. And I'm not in denial. I hope they start failing miserably, which I think is starting, so maybe we can get items that you don't need to keep buying obsessively.

Fanboi backpack with certified ears and a fistfull of empty gift bags should be sufficient. Well I use the perk that someone I know has to get them so it doesnt bother me that bad. I will not be Forest Gump'in it to the stores Monday morning though, Lt Dan.
