The thread on the filming has now ended discussion. Today is the day for airing and we are just over an hour and a half until airtime. Let's see how this event is. I know several of us have been in the parks over the past two weeks when they have been filming scenes for the parade. My family was involved in the Hollywood Studios filming last week. I hope we made it past the chopping block!

Eh, I'll watch to see if they make improvements over the past years "commercials", but I'm not expecting much. The entire Disney Parks concept leaves me ice cold.

We got it earlier here in the NY/Philly market...lots of changes and not as much stock footage from years past.

Still overblown ad and less of a parade, but it was still fun to watch...at times.

Merry Christmas

I think nearly everything with Disney is taped at this point, outside of the New Year's Fireworks the tele briefly shows.

Anyone else notice when Samantha Brown was talking about the FLE that they showed the OLD concept art?

Epic Fail. :brick:

The hour and a half Disney commercial...er, parade... is only 1/2 way through. Give it a few.

For the Midwest region it's just ending and still nothing..Jennifer Hudson is on Singing Joy to the world...And not a step foot out of Main Street or the Hub..Blah.

But they put in plenty of plugs for their DVD's (Treasure Buddies), movies (Muppets), TV shows and other sellable aspects of the company. No doubt it will do the trick.

Did they just use Indiana Jones to pimp another Santa Buddies movie? :hurl:

And I think it's funny they put celebrities on that HSM / Disney Channel Rocks stage. Didn't they used to call it "old sparky"?

And do they have to mix all of that fake screaming into the soundtrack? I'm pretty sure that people aren't constantly screaming the entire parade.

BAH HUMBUG ... well, at least I missed the first 30 minutes, so no Biebs for me.

These commercials just get worse annually.

The editing is so awful and choppy ... constant cuts. They never let the camera linger on anything be it a float, a performer etc. Are they afraid the viewers will actually see something?

Pretty hard to not notice the sea of white that makes up the crowds.

It's always been a commercial, but there was something special about it when it was LIVE and not taped a month (with some segments taped MONTHS) in advance. I also wonder how many non-regular guests actually think if they visit for Christmas they'll see a parade that resembles what they are seeing on TV.

I am sure it makes some folks feel MAGICal, but it just falls flat for me. It's just a commercial and not a particularly well produced one either.

Merry Christmas ... and Happy Hanukkah ... and Happy 2012!
