2008 Pricing.............

I know that this is probably asked many times and answered that you just don't know till it comes out, pricing that is. But, is there a "set" time of the year that 2008 pricing comes out or is it a generalized 3-4 week "window" this seems to happen every year?

I am EAGERLY awaiting my first ever trip to WDW with the family April 6-12 2008..........I am using my AAA agent and I guess having to wait for the pricing to finalize everything is just adding to my impatience of the trip being so far away!

Also, if any have gone in the past during the peak season during Spring Breaks in the past (I am a HS teacher, why I am going that time of year) were the crowds as bad as I have read about? My boys are 6 and 3 so I am doing as much preplaning as possible to make this trip as smooth as possible.

Please remember that these dining changes are unofficial at the moment (Deb even has a disclaimer stating that). Disney has not released anything yet. :)

wow, some interesting changes........no more appetizers on the DDP.

hmmm, wonder if it is even worth it for the "Magic Your Way Deluxe DDP"?

change is inevitable, but sometimes it just stinks! lol

I'm also eagerly awaiting the 2008 rates. I want to know what they are before booking so I can get the nicest room I can afford.. I haven't been since around 2000 and we stayed at The Wilderness Lodge then. It was very nice.

Not unless you think that, for every single day of your trip, you will either eat 3 table service meals, OR eat two table service meals with one of them being a signature restaraunt....EVERY...SINGLE...DAY. Otherwise, you're gonna spend all that money and go home without using all of your credits.

Not necessarily.

Assuming you eat 3 meals a day and 2 snacks:

Start with $70
- 2 x snacks of $4 each = $62 (water bottles?)
- 1 TS dinner of $34 = $28
- 1 CS breakfast of $10 = $18
- 1 CS lunch of $14 = $4 remaining

That $4 could easily be used up, depending on the menu choices and restaurant.

Many times we do a character breakfast and a TS dinner with a light snack mid-day - this would fit our style perfectly.

You also get a refillable mug, which is a $12 value - more if you spend time at the resort using it.

If you don't eat 3 meals a day at WDW, then this may not be for you.

There isn't a need to tip at counter service meals, so the only tip needed in my menu above would be on the TS dinner.

I also wonder if the Deluxe dining plan will be 3 meals per day - or 3 meals per nights stay - which would give less credits to be used overall.

While I do agree that the regular Dining plan has lost some value with this change, I believe that many people will find the Deluxe Dining plan to be more to their liking.

I'm ready for 2008 pricing because I'm ready to book my trip! Anyway, reading about the possible changes to the DDP, I had a question. Do you think there is any way you could substitute an appetizer for a desert using the new plan? My DH and I were discussing it last night and he was saying he'd rather have an appetizer. I wonder if you could have either/or? I can't remember right now if the appetizers are a lot more expensive than desserts, but it seems resonable if the pricing is comparable.

AS far as the pricing most desserts and appetizers are comparable there. As far as if they would let you, just ask!! Nothing firm has been said regarding this information but why not try? Stranger stuff has been known to happen. Belle

Ooh... if I could do that, I might continue to get the plan. I'd rather have an appetizer than dessert too.

I haven't been able to confirm this, but there's a rumor circulating in the travel industry that 2008 pricing will be available starting this Sunday, Aug 5th. Hopefully, the announcement will come soon since other Disney travel pricing for Adventures by Disney and Disneyland were both opened this week.

I don't think Adventure by Disney pricing is available until Sept 4th.

the dates and places were released on Aug 1st. You can book with a down payment of $300 per person.

Sure is!!! This was released yesterday morning!! I Am so glad things worked out for you!!! Belle

As of yesterday morning, specific dates of value, regular and peak season weren't posted yet, nor were the actual room rates (although you can figure that out by subtracting the cost of your tickets and dining plan to arrive at the cost of the room itself). Is this info available yet?
