2005 shaping up to be quite a year!

Along with Wishes, new IllumiNations possibility, new parades, and Expedition EVEREST...I'm impressed:) I still don't get why WDW is getting a better DL's 50th Anniversary Celebration than DL is, though lol...seems like they are spending roughly as much money for 2005 at WDW as it would take to build a new park. Thanks for the info, Steve

As info starts coming out left and right for new attractions EVERYWHERE (WDW: Soarin, Flick, Mermaid, Sitich, Everest, Stunt Show), (DLP: ToT, Toontown, Buzz, Mermaid) and (TDR: ToT, Buzz, Indy Coaster), im starting to think that Disney may just be pulling a fast one in regards to DL's 50th.... Cmon, you think Disney, in their right minds, would have ALL these attractions built elsewhere, and only give DL a new Space Mountain, and MAYBE Buzz? Im starting to think that Disney may be trying to trick us, in order to get everyone (specifically the internet people, like Al Lutz) in a frenzy, and then all of a sudden surprise the hell out of us when the announcement comes..... I think we're in for a HUGE year in 2005, and i have a feeling DL will be getting something great. Just my 2 cents...

(Think about it.... the whole Jay Rasulo thing, not showing up to Cast Blast, could have set the entire thing up.... Rasulo is known to be dissapointed in DL's operation, and im sure he and WDI have something great in mind for DL's 50th)

Flick's Funfair at Animal Kingdom

Motor Stunt Show at Disney MGM Studios

Mermaid Lagoon and/or Stitch Encounter at MK

Soarin' at Epcot

Very interesting. Everything seems quite intriguing...although I hope the Stitch rehab isn't too much (It will be a pain to lose the SIR and Skippy)...and I REALLY hope that Flik's Fun Fair does not have one single carnival game...

Thanks for all that information!

If Flik's is actually a carnival, wouldn't that be redundant since AK already has Dinorama? (or whatever that one is! )

And what exactly is Mermaid Lagoon?

I hope that they don't put flick's fun fair in camp minnie mickey
they would get ride of the lion king show. Enless it's a mini land like dinorama in dinoland u.s.a. And will mermaid lagoon fit in the old 20000 leagues lagoon. it look's a lot bigger then it.

*phew!*

Flik's Fun Fair, therefore, is clear for take off! :D

Except I REALLY wish they could put Stitch in the Enchanted Tiki Room (minus Iago and Zazu) instead...I'm sure it would make it a lot popular, also, as well as reviving the sense of a tropical, cultural show. :) :(

That would make much more sense. But i'm biased, i love AE. I like stich (and Fluffy!) and putting him in the tiki room and sending Gilbert Godfried would get me in there. I loate gilbert godfried... just annoys the hell out of me.

That and whileS Stitch is from outer space, stoyr line wise, it seems to make more sense in the tiki room.

I agree...Gottfried (sp) really ticks me off...and no wonder they had to rename it from "tropical SERENADE" to the "Enchanted Tiki Room."

Futhermore, it can be more of a blend of Hawaiian/topical themes, keeping it unannoying, and refraining from the horrors of classic characters, well, rapping. There are hundreds of hundreds of people who really dislike the new Tiki Room...and its story is weak, and we leave the show thinking, "Okay...now that Iago has the Tiki Room, now what?"

Crowds would be boosted WAY UP if this happens, based on the low attendance currently, and the thousands of Stitch fans. Alien Encounter, as it stands, already has one of the highest crowds of people daily - and people may lose interest, thinking that adding Stitch may be a bit...childish. It also adds to the idea that Fantasyland is slowly creeping into Tomorrowland (i.e. Buzz Lightyear and the general turn from original characters to movie characters).

We'll just have to wait and see on this one.

hmm.. I was in a group conversation with Joe Rohde earlier this week, and when he was asked about the future of Camp Minnie-Mickey he basically said to not hold your breath. I highly doubt the Flik's Fun Fair rumour.. but I don't disagree with it.

so what about mermaid lagoon going into mk.And will it fit in the 20000 leagues lagoon.I like the mermaid idea better then flik's fun fair.

I hope your right MKT i don't really like that idea. plus we could add a much better attraction then this

nut it would help.

Very interesting indeed

I'm already happy with all of the confirmed items that we're getting, so I'm extremely enthused about all of the rumored items.

Mermaid Lagoon - Of course, this won't be a direct port of the TDS version. However, there is a LOT of potential here, folks. For some reason, I'm really excited about this one.

Stitch Encounter - I hope it doesn't happen. I'm one of the few die-hard AE fans out there.

Flik's Fun Fair - I agree that AK is the perfect location for this, but I'm not so sure about it being in Camp Minnie Mickey.

CMM is a rustic forested area, whereas FFF is somewhat equilavent to the HISTK zone in theme. Of course, they're going to keep the Lion King show and they'll probably keep the character greeting areas too.

I imagine that, if this project gets the go-ahead, that it will be an offshoot of Camp Minnie Mickey (branching off at the entrance). Either that, or it would be accessible off the Cast Member bridge (near Pizzafari). We'll see how this goes

Oh, one more thing. Hopefully they will improve on some things in this new land. While the theming is amazing, the rides need some improvement. I read reports that the rides are too short, and the bumper cars are too slow. Furthermore, the Chew Chew train ride, while an excellent idea, is way too short in length (by the time one train goes through the load/unload cycle, the other train has already finished the ride journey). Since space is not an issue, I imagine that they might expand this ride a little more. Once again, we'll see how this develops.

Mermaid Lagoon will not be IN the 20K lagoon, it'll be behind it. It is MUCH too large to fit in there--it's the 8th Magical Land in the Magic Kingdom; it'll need room. "a bug's land" can still fit in, as long as it has enough of a transition b/t Camp Minnie-Mickey and it...I, also, hope it has better rides, though--perhaps rides that people over age 4 would actually enjoy (I love the theming of "Flik's Fun Fair", but I didn't ride anything there). And the bumper cars move at about 1 mph at DCA, but that's because of the ridiculous Cali lawyers...but this will be good to complement EVEREST--something geared more toward kids.

Sounds like some good ideas are coming, and good ideas and new rides are a necessity in getting my parents to plan more Disney vacations. :animwink:

I'm surprised no one else mentioned this but... If Flik's Fun Fair becomes a new land in the Animal Kingdom, then what becomes of It's Tough to be A Bug? Obviously that would belong in the Fair and it certainly can't be moved. As for Mermaid Lagoon, I am both excited and dissapointed. Magic Kingdom hasn't had an E-ticket ride since Splash Mountain in 1992 and I would rather them save the money and finally build a truly groundbreaking attraction in that spot. It seems like all attention has shifted to the other theme parks for the past 10 years and poor Magic Kingdom just gets the scraps of the budget left over. Although, I must say, Mermaid Lagoon is a beautiful land with wonderful theming over at TDS but it was built there to serve as a sort of toontown fair if you will. MK already has a land devoted to that age group a few feet away.
