I've been to Disney Springs several times and hadn't even heard of Paradiso 37, which I think is telling.

I looked up their poutine and it is definitely NOT poutine. Poutine is fries, cheese curds, and gravy. Theirs is just fries with cheese sauce.

It seems a lot of places are doing a spin on poutine these days. The best I’ve had was at the Nomad Lounge (Tiffins.)

Doesn’t this remind you of Coco?

I finally saw that movie on Netflix, cried, made Brian watch it with me the same day, cried again, made Jeff & Billy watch it with us when they visited - 4 guys crying.

This is a wine made in Mexico from agave. Apparently, agave is fruit, so that makes it technically wine (?)

It tastes like tequila after a little ice melted in it.

It’s also 24% alcohol, which is about double the strength of the average wine.

This would be a great cheat for “beer & wine only” venues. It’s wine - but it’s almost tequila. A nice sipping tequila. Cheers!
I'm a wreck watching coco 😭😭. I've downloaded it to watch on our flight over to wdw in November but hubby has barred me from watching it in public 😂😂.

Did somebody say Jaeger?? ;)

Loving all of your adventures, and sorry about the expensive fries for dinner. Hopefully there were other things that made up for it.

I'm very much like you...I turn into a pumpkin at night, and it is incredibly difficult for me to want to go out at night for just about anything. I don't know when I got old, but it's definitely starting in that arena...LOL!:hilarious:

Awwww, that puppy!!

We should have a thread where if you post a picture of a dog named after a drink, everybody drinks. (Why do I keep trying to make drinking game threads?) Brian's family used to have two labs - a white one named Stoli and a chocolate one named Chivas.

Re: old: after getting married, we kind of switched from going out drinking to going out for dinner with drinks. We really need to do a better job of keeping up with friends, though. So easy to stay on the couch.

Some guy is offering to buy our house (which is not on the market) for a lot more than what we paid for it, but a lot less than theoretical market value. Even if he took a higher counter more in line with market value, we'd have to move about 8 miles west to get as much house and keep a similar mortgage payment. The point is: I remembered how important it was to us when we bought this house to be close to "everything." But how often do we go see everything? Everything is starting to be loud at night and stuff lol.

Back to Orlando:

After realizing I'd blown through all our data in one night, this:

This is a great song. I love it. I thought Jeff was playing it in the house or something. Nope, everyone was still sleeping.

It was coming from outside. Had to have been really loud to hear it inside the house. I didn't see a car parked outside blasting it or anything. So hey, I was in a good mood, I was "on vacation," so I dug the groove and kind of went with it.

When it was over, this:

What? Yes, again. Immediately. Twice in a row.

Three times in a row. What the...?

It was on a loop! Groove is forever in the heart! What the heck was going on? It played several times.

When everybody else woke up, they said it was a nearby school doing their morning warm up exercises.

Really? You can't make a mixtape or something? Again, I love that song. But you're going to make those children hate that song!!

Dinner updates based on fishing for information:

I have to be ready by 6:50PM for a 7:15 reservation, so it’s not far.

Collared shirt is required, not just suggested.

I am overweight compared to usual.

Gary doesn’t know where it is.

It may be a place that I’m not even aware exists.

So, to guess a little, I’m thinking near the beach or on the water (that tends to be where fancy schmancy places are, if it is that.)

And...I’m out of guesses. Something with either really good lobster, pork, or a banana dessert? Or jambalaya? Duck? I don’t know! Countdown: 40 minutes to departure. He’s napping. I’m going in for lipo.

Beginning to wrap up Orlando...

Our last day, we walked like a block to an awesome little pop-up restaurant. They change chefs/menu routinely. The neighborhood was cute, and there was an awesome memorial to the Pulse victims and survivors.

Brian is wearing the same shirt he wore last night.

And Jeff checked off something from the list.

You were killing me with the suspense over your birthday dinner. Have a wonderful evening!!

Sorry you didn’t have a great food experience on HHI. The dinner at our wedding was AH-E**ING-MAZING and the wine matched it. In an unusual move, there was only one choice for dinner—filet mignon. And it was the best damn filet that I ever had in my entire life so far. The wedding was on the small side for Sea Pines, so the brides parents made up the minimum spend by serving a maximum wine. The bar was pouring Rombauer Cabernet Sauvignon. Dee-Lish. Looked it up afterwards, so I could buy some. It’s a $60 bottle of wine. I’ll wait til our 40th anniversary for that one. :cautious:

Around the wedding, we had a really good meal in a seafood restaurant at the shopping center next to the DVC property. I can’t recall the name now, but I enjoyed oysters and a beautiful Prosecco, followed by (some other kind of seafood that escapes me at the moment because more than 90 days ago at a place not on Open Table)...we also found a really cool restaurant on the other end of the island called Frankie Bones. Sinatra/Rat Pack themed. Pretty sure you would’ve liked it. MyBob was gaga over all the photos and memorabilia. Very good meal, nice setting.

We enjoyed the heck out of HHI, and hope to get back someday.

We went to a Mexican restaurant in St. Pete that made their margaritas with this agave wine instead of tequila. It tasted......interesting.

We loved HHI!

But as cheap and (no offense to random people) as Kentucky as Jeff is, we’re lucky the wedding dinner wasn’t a ramen and hot dog casserole!

I can't believe that I have not seen it yet. I really have to, and soon.

It’s on Netflix. You go now!

Did you see my first guess in the list was right? Lobster. This was the sweetest.

They had a lobster and pasta dish (remember how I was going to get that at Flying Fish and they changed the menu like the day before?) and it was, well, nothing like Grandma’s but a similar idea and delicious!

I’ll fill in details later - just pics for now...
