Hahaha I’ve missed a lot... I love the Boston idea and I’m glad we landed on something already!
I’m pretty much open to anything... I think doing parades would be fun if that hasn’t been claimed, assuming that falls under our entry land?
That'd probably be in both as I'd assume the parade would go around the hub - so you can bounce between both if you want!

What if instead of the train, there was a boat ride around a river that circles the park?

We could even include elements of Jungle Cruise and Small World along the way instead of just cloning these classics.

The boat might tie in better with the Boston Harbor theme and give us a unique transportation option for the park
I love this idea but time sounds like an issue. For example, If we have a park the size of Disneyland that would be almost a 45-50 minute boat ride. We could always have multiple boats going at once but I don't know if a 45 minute boat ride would be popular enough
I like that idea but it either needs to be heavy on elements or clear it’s main purpose is transportation.

Animal Kingdom had the Discovery Island River boats at opening that was designed for transportation from one side of the park to the other with little elements (like an amazing Iguanadon animatronic) that made guests think it was a boring ride. It was stuck in between the two and didn’t last long because of it
True. Though part of the added issue for Discovery Island River Boats is that it didn't need a transportation option. It didn't go around the outside of a large park, it went around the hub of a small one. So, it was basically useless as a tranportation attraction.

But I agree there would definitely be issues with the boat concept. Between its slower speed and potential lack of excitement.

DisneySea proves that boats certainly work as park transportation! Though if you do this it might seem, I dunno, a little “DisneySea-ish”...

My dudes... 10 pages. 10. Clearly I should of just stayed up last night when there was only 4. I see Boston is pretty much chosen, but I am gonna throw my 2 ideas out anyways just so they are written down. My ideas would be sorta creepy old gothic London with the brickwork and the kinda spooky feel, or a trip through time starting with black and white cartoons and moving towards a Mickey inspired full color castle.

That being said, I can go wherever I am needed because I don't have much of an opinion either way for this theme.

If it helps, over in the entrance land thread we are thinking about some spooky potential for that area. Namely, a new version of The Haunted Mansion and a Sleepy Hollow walkthrough.

I think your spooky interests would go real well in the entrance land!

An update from myself and @NigelChanning09 ! We have started trimming the show down (aiming for about an hour to line up with DCA's Frozen show in length). Notable cuts include the entire Maria Reynolds storyline (not really Disney appropriate) and unfortunately Philip Hamilton (though he would 110% be Robin the Frog if we can find a way to make him work).

That being said, we have come up with the cast list and would love everyone's thoughts!

Cast (Subject to changes):
  • Alexander Hamilton - Kermit The Frog
  • Aaron Burr - Gonzo
  • George Washington - Sam Eagle
  • Eliza Schuyler - Miss Piggy
  • Angelica Schuyler - Denise
  • Peggy Schuyler - Camilla the Chicken
  • John Laurens - Rizzo
  • Marquis de Lafayette - Swedish Chef
  • Hercules Mulligan - Uncle Deadly
  • Thomas Jefferson - Fozzie
  • James Madison- Bobo
  • Charles Lee - Sweetums
  • Samuel Seabury - Beaker
  • King George III - Dr. Bunsen Honeydew

I’m crying thinking of Swedish Chef as Lafayette and Fozzie as Jefferson 🤣

Since everyone's been pretty much active today and we've gotten a ton of stuff done, in lieu of a Daily Recap, I'll instead ask what everyone's goals are for tomorrow?

This way we can have a collective idea of our intents and try to accomplish them however big or small!
Right now @NigelChanning09 and I are tearing through the Muppets Hamilton show! With the cast list done, I am finalizing the song list tonight/ tomorrow morning! They are currently working on the pre-show so tomorrow will hopefully be finalizing all that and moving on to the stage/ how it'll all work together!

I'll answer by saying currently I'm working on some concept art and menu items for a tavern and seasonal shop for the entrance land

Going to work on castle concept art tomorrow. We’ve settled on Snow White Castle, which can keep the spooky tone found in Boston while remaining family-friendly Disney. There will be much inspiration taken from real world castles (this is no direct copy from the movie), notably visually darker castles from Germany and a Eastern Europe mixed with the island setting of Mont Saint-Michel.
