Question of the Day
Who are some of your favorite parks original characters?
Of course Dreamfinder & Figment are forever at the top of this category (though Figment is hard to draw ), which is why I officially went on record in that one TikiCast and gave my #1 slot to a dark horse bear:

Duffy!

Moreso for the overall Duffy phenomenon in DisneySea, and how much fun it is to interact with Duffy-laden guests, than for anything intrinsic with the character himself. Plus I’m a sucker for all things DisneySea.

Though I’d like to use my soapbox now to highlight one of my favorite non-DisneyVersal characters, a titan in the regional amusement park mascot community, none other than Holiday World’s incomparable HoliDog!

Hey! People who like Gravity Falls!

The Owl House is now on Disney+ and has a lot of shared people behind the scenes and a similar tone. A really strong show and spiritual successor with some intriguing darker elements and a lot of stuff hidden under the surface.

Also, it has been implied more than once that Eda is an ex-wife of Grunkle Stan from a Vegas weekend.

I know it's been a couple days since we've done hot takes, but I have a real spicy one that I'm gonna share and immediately turn a bunch of people against me: I'm glad Disney didn't build Beastly Kingdomme.

I think Pandora fits the park's theme so much better as it's actually tied to conserving nature, though if I could trade Pandora for another continent like Australia or South America I happily would. I just feel like Beastly Kingdomme doesn't fit, and honestly, the attractions pitched for it aren't that appealing to me.

I will side with that hot take.

I know Beastly Kingdom was originally envisioned as part of the whole idea of animals past, present, and mythological, but Animal Kingdom really has its heart in a message of ecological preservation. Avatar is a natural fit for that message.

This is 100% the correct take! And to add why:

Look at the concept art. Look at the concept art of some original Dinoland plans compared to what we got. Just because the Beastly Kingdom concept art looked good, doesn’t mean the land would come out that way. It would’ve been done on a massively tight budget just like Dinoland was.

So, we have an alternate dimension Gravity Falls in Amphibia and now this. Three-way crossover, make it happen Disney.

Has anyone else seen Chapter 9 of The Mandalorian?
I did it was very exciting!

I really thought they were going to confirm Boba Fett as dead, but nope! I hope they continue this Boba storyline, and don't leave us hanging on this cliff. Was I the only one annoyed by the sheriff character? Like I really wanted him to be eaten by the whale. Also you could really feel the Western genre this episode, and I was here for it. I really enjoyed this episode, and can't wait for next week's.

I actually really liked the marshall, I thought he was a fun character that really stuck the Western genre landing. I also really liked how much this show humanizes the Tusken Raiders, like, in the OT they are portrayed as "savages" while in the prequels, they are "animals," so it's nice to see them actually treated like a population of indigenous people instead of mindless monsters.

My biggest issue really was the fan service. I don't mind some fan service, but why did we really need to see R5-D4? Like, what an obscure OT character to sneak in there, it just felt a bit much.

Also, I hope they keep the Boba stuff to a minimum in this show personally. That being said, if he got his own series down the road or a comic series about him surviving, that'd be awesome. I just fear this season and future seasons are gonna be the "hey look, I know them" show where the first season was super original and not reliant on familiar characters

First of all, that's a Krayt dragon, not a whale. That would be Courage the Cowardly Dog. Secondly, I didn't like the marshal, not to the point of wanting him dead but I thought that he was going to sacrifice himself to the dragon.
