I know it's been a couple days since we've done hot takes, but I have a real spicy one that I'm gonna share and immediately turn a bunch of people against me: I'm glad Disney didn't build Beastly Kingdomme.

I think Pandora fits the park's theme so much better as it's actually tied to conserving nature, though if I could trade Pandora for another continent like Australia or South America I happily would. I just feel like Beastly Kingdomme doesn't fit, and honestly, the attractions pitched for it aren't that appealing to me.

In addition to the beautiful concept art, I feel that people preferred Beastly Kingdom over Pandora because they felt that there had to be some sort of "breather area" away from the Adventureland-esque lands from opening day. Even though Pandora could be considered as fantasy-adjacent, it still retained the majority of the Adventureland aspect of the other lands (which is great since not every Disney park needs a Fantasyland area; see Tokyo DisneySea pre-Fantasy Springs) and lacked the "breather area" people wanted.

So I too was wondering why I didn't like the sheriff character at first and I think it was because I recognized him from The Office. He was the salesman in Season 7 and he looked too similar and less Star Warsy. Though after the initial few scenes he kinda faded into the background for me. The sand people and Mando stole the show

I love Timothy Olyphant as an actor and you should definitely watch Santa Clarita Diet.

But his personality and look is just too clean cut for that character. Like, he did a good job trying. But he just felt out of place in the role. It didn't fit him.

But he wasn't thaaaat bad, just a little miscast. And the episode as a whole was really fun and a great start! Like you said, the Sand People stuff was fantastic. Baby Yoda was adorable enough to melt my jaded heart that was frozen over by the excessive Baby Yoda memes over the last year. Seeing him hide in that jar replaced all my negative feelings that "Chicky Nuggies" gave me. The action was cool yet grounded by star wars standards. And there was some intriguing plot teases for the season.

To be honest, we've only done day trips or stayed in partner hotels when visiting the Disney Parks so I haven't entered any of the hotels. That being said, I do want to go to Aulani in Hawaii at some point. From what I know, it's similar to the Polynesian but you're actually on-location as opposed to being in a former Floridian swampland. Though, I'm not sure if the Polynesian's Orange Scent™️ that Offhand Disney keeps on talking about is also present in Aulani...

I honestly think Cabana Bay blew every Disney resort I've ever stayed at out of the water (not saying a ton since I've never done a deluxe resort, but still...) I just absolutely love the 50's vibe of that place, and it has so many cool features. The upstairs bowling alley, the lazy river, the loop of old commercials playing in the food court, the overall relaxed vibe and ample opportunity to drink. The only thing that would send it over the edge would be a proper table service and maybe some entertainment (But of course we all know how hard that is to come by these days... :( ) Speaking of entertainment, Riverside used to be my absolute favorite resort I've ever stayed at thanks to Yee Haw Bob but until Bob Jackson gets his job back the place is going to be an absolute shell of its former glory.
