Christmas Town

After Seasons of Fantasy opened at Blue Sky Disneyland, guests fell in love with the representation of the Nightmare Before Christmas and it seems that they want more! Disney enthusiasts complained about the missed opportunity that arose due to Fall Forest and Winter Mountain not having a NMBC connection due to the Winter/Fall aspects of the film. While guests got their fare share of Halloweentown, they wanted more of Christmas Town. That’s when Disney Imagineers came together and started work on the first expansion coming to Blue Sky Disneyland: Christmas Town.

Set to open within Seasons of Fantasy 5 years after opening, Christmas Town is a
mini-land that will act as a shortcut between Fall Forest and Winter Mountain. The land is full of vibrant colors and lights that overall make a beautiful and jolly environment. Christmas trees fill the land as the Christmas Town sign towers over guests.

They even can peek into the windows and see elves hard at work. Like the iconic song, “What’s This”, says, the smell of cakes and pies ARE absolutely everywhere. A statue of Jack Skellington and Santa Claus shaking hands is in the middle of the area with a plaque that reads “As Ghouls, Elves, and Goblins are seen, it represents the joining of Christmas and Halloween.” A forced perspective mountain stands above the town with a miniature train with a small Jack on top to create the illusion that the train is normal sized.

At the Workshop, guests can purchase NMBC themed ornaments and Christmas decorations. Plushes, shirts, and toys are also available. Mrs. Clause’s bakery, which is located in the same building as the workshop, offers an assortment of different cookies, candies, and candy apples themed to Jack Skellington, Sally, and Santa.

A larger than life Christmas Tree stands in the center of the land. Each night, the lights on the Christmas Tree sync with the music of “What’s This” to perform a fantastic light show for all who are in the area.

Jack’s Rocking Reindeer is one of the mini land’s attractions. The ride uses the classic “Whip Ride” system where guests board sleighs that are being “pulled” by large toy versions of Santa’s Reindeer. The sleighs will rock back and forth as you’re being whipped around. There are two almost identical versions of the attraction that sit right next to each other to reduce wait times. One of the versions doesn’t include sleighs that rock back and forth for those looking for a less thrilling experience. During your ride experience, guests swing around while the tune of “What’s This” plays and lights flash all around. But be careful. You may just find yourself in a snowball fight between Lock, Shock, and Barrel!

Christmas Town Sliding Snowmobiles is a family coaster that takes you around Christmas Town in a fun, creative, and fast way. After winding through an outdoor path full of both Christmas and Halloween decor, guests board Jack’s snowmobile and slowly start moving up a mountain. They go down the hill and slide all across Christmas Town as they take in the sights and sounds that made Jack Skellington fall in love. At the very end, an animatronic Jack tells guests to have a Merry Christmas and a Happy Halloween. The rollercoaster’s layout is almost identical to the Barnstormer or Gadget’s Go Coaster.

Meet Sandy Claws in his “home” year round. You can wind through the queue, which is Santa’s house and meet Jack Skellington dressed up as the iconic holiday figure. He’ll probably ask you what you may want for Christmas but make sure not to ask for anything spooky or scary because he may just go a bit overboard. Jack even has interactive haunted “toys” that he likes to show off. He won’t promise that they don’t snap or bite, however! During the Holiday season, you can meet Jack Skellington AND Santa in a combined meet and greet.

Exiting Christmas Town, you find yourselves in Winter Mountain as a statue of Sandy Claws himself (Jack) waves goodbye and says “See you next year!”.

Adventure Atoll: Year 10

Map.jpg
It’s been 10 whole years since the opening of Blue Sky Disneyland, and it’s time for some land upgrades. Adventure Atoll, the Adventureland substitute at Blue Sky Disneyland, was a divisive concept, even amongst the Imagineers working on it, with different concepts being tossed around and a long and somewhat confusing backstory trying to tie all of the attractions together, the land was respected but had a handful of issues that I hope to fix here, before getting to the brand new attraction coming to the land. The land will get some minor improvements as we look around, including some tweaking background elements.

The first major change will be the construction of a station for the newly opened Disneyland Aeronautics, a hot air balloon-styled Skyliner where guests can fly around the park. This station will be one of three operating stations with the opening of the park, the other two being found in Harbortown U.S.A/Port Voyage and the other in Four Winds Square. Guests may board the Transport Line here, but as the Express Line does not feature stops along its route, guests cannot board that line anywhere but the Port Voyage Station. This station will be themed to Ottoman-style architecture as it is set in the Ottoman settlement portion of the land in the space between Tales Around the World and Sirens of Atlantis.

Sub.jpg
The next major change is with the Siren Escape attraction. The attraction itself will remain mostly the same, but it will get a title change to Sirens of Atlantis. Along with this, the submarine concept, while not changing, will get some minor tweaks, especially to the queue to explain why submarines fit into the time period. The pre-show elevator will remain, but with new sounds and movements simulating that the elevator is man-operated. The cave portion replaces the steampunk machinery with deconstructed subs, with different tests being taken on them all with different results. We see subs with shattered glass, subs with crushed sides with large tentacle sucker marks on them, and subs with hatches that won’t close. This whole portion of the queue is made to explain how submarines exist within the time period. Models that tell the story of endless failed tests, adding both to the story of the land, but also giving a bit more sense of danger to the attraction as we don’t know if this sub will be successful or end up like the ones before it that we see in the queue.

A smaller detail will be added around the seaport, including new animatronics of different species not found in the walking trails in the center of the land. These animals are from the coastal area, including Motu Wairua Walrus, Suleiman’s Sea Bat, Fog Gull, and Lemurian Penguin. All of these species are found around the beaches and rocks, especially outside the Tales Around the World and Disneyland Aeronautics area by the beach.

Plaza of Fortune receives a minor switch up, switching the story to that of Özcan Coskun, former captain of the ill-fated Golden Dawn merchant vessel turned Pasha to Suleiman the Great after his “discovery” of Motu Wairua. The goblets will be re-painted to look like they are made of crystal mined from Cave Draguna, creating a sense of unity between the whole land that wasn’t there before. Small plaques about Pasha Coskun and the Golden Dawn can be found throughout the queue for guests to read should they choose to help convey the story of the island to guests in more digestible bites.

Dragon.jpg
Escape of the Gem Dragon is the final attraction that will receive a major overhaul. As phenomenal of an attraction as it is, the Gem Dragon didn’t fit the concept of the island as well and introduced concepts that didn’t quite fit in with the land. Instead, the attraction (which will not change its name) will get an overhaul from the initial busbar attraction that it started off as, instead becoming an EMV attraction in the vein of Indiana Jones and Dinosaur. The steampunk feel of the land will be present in steam-powered mining drills that have been constructed on the island for mining the incredibly dangerous Cave Draguna. Voices echo throughout the caves of the queue; voices warning of a cursed beast that lives within the caves and destroys all who enter. The beast, described as “Draguna” is featured in cave paintings along the queue, as are other enchanted beasts. These cave paintings represent those created by the original Maori settlers who used the cave as a resting place.
Once guests enter the attraction, the drills make their way into the cave, passing by massive crystal stalactites and stalagmites. We hear an earth-shaking roar and (using projection mapping) the stalactites begin to collapse down on us. We high-tail it out of there, entering into a crystalline grotto. The colors are rainbow sparkling as shadows of bats flying around. There is a waterfall pouring into a limestone pool. We hear more shaking and rumbling as shadowy figure snakes through the crystals, projecting it to be as if it’s in a fun mirror, with different proportions as it goes around, not allowing guests a very good look at it.
We move into the next room where we see another drill with giant claw rips through its side, suggesting something big has been here. We hear echoes of screaming down a tunnel, and we turn into the other tunnel, instead, but that turns out to be a bad decision as the path crumbles below us (by use of the vehicle rumbling and shaking) and we slide down a hill into a cavern below. Here, statues of a mysterious rainbow serpent with glowing red eyes illuminate down a pathway towards an opening in the cave. We head towards that cave where we enter, coming into contact with the giant animatronic Gem Dragon. It is more inspired by a Chinese dragon, with a serpent-like design rather than the European Dragon once found in the attraction.
The dragon rears up as its eyes glow, it’s mouth opening, fire-spewing out, which we narrowly avoid by diverting down to the left, into another tunnel. We see at the end (by use of projection) the eye of the beast that slunk by us. We do multiple turns, avoiding the dragon at each turn, before spilling out into another cavern. We see a projection of the dragon on the roof of the cavern before he lands, smoke, and dust clearing to reveal another animatronic. The dragon gets ready to attack again, but as it lands too hard, it shakes, and the massive drill at the front of our vehicle “drops” (actually it is made to slide under the vehicle as storage and can pop back up before new guests load) and the dragon notices and calls off its attack. We see that the dragon isn’t evil but instead is there solely to protect the cave and the precious riches within as the animatronic is clouded by fog again and we see the projection of the dragon flying away. We make a final turn and reach the exit loading dock.

Luau.jpg
The final and newest addition to the island is a brand new attraction located behind the Rotorua Retail is a brand new stage performance Kanikani o te Motu, or “Dance of the Island.” This show is set in a Maori Longhouse where guests are welcomed to a theater (akin to the Festival of the Lion King Theater). Once guests are seated, the stage in the center comes to life with hula dancers, fire eaters, acrobats, and even performances of the Haka.
Hosted by two hosts, a brother and sister pair named Hehu and Arataki respectively. They are the children of the great chief of the island and welcome guests to the island of Motu Wairua. They announce that they are the storytellers who will share the story of their beautiful island and it’s amazing nature that surrounds them. They enter the first performance, a traditional hula, telling the story of how the island rose from the ocean as a living entity. The island goddess soon fell in love with a volcano god on a nearby island, but through falling in love, they angered the greater gods and were cast apart. She was cast far away from the rest of Maori territory, but her ancient call summoned her people all across a new ocean to reach her, settling her land just as she was meant to had she not made her mistakes.
The second segment is another hula, led by Arataki which tells of how the Maori people settled Motu Wairua, harvesting her fruits and animals and living alongside her. This transitions into a haka telling of when the Ottoman settlers landed on the island. The performance begins peaceful and gentle, but quickly becomes more aggressive and hostile, showcasing how the Ottoman settlers began friendly, but soon started abusing the island and her resources.
The fourth portion of the show is a fire hula, led by Hehu, encompassing fire dancers and hula dancers meant to represent life currently on the island, where the Ottomans have begun destroying the island, abusing her resources, and turning the island into a bustling trading port, which angers the island goddess. The segment finishes in a central display piece representing a baobab tree bursts into flames, causing all the dancers to flee as it burns.
The next segment watches as the fire burns the tree and soon burns out, but there is hope. We see (by use of dancers) the leaves beginning to grow back onto the tree, symbolizing new life. Hehu and Arataki return and say that it is not too late to save the island and all of our people. If we use the land properly and we don’t abuse the resources and destroy the island, we can all live in harmony. All of the dancers come back out and perform a final hula with the hopes of a brighter future. With that, all of the dancers bow and guests are ushered back out into the park.
The hopes of this attraction is to tell the story of the island in a more digestible way, provide a touch of culture with traditional Maori dances, and add another element of live entertainment in the park. Guests should leave with more appreciation for Motu Wairua as well as the beauty of Maori Culture.

Want something original for CenterCore? Here is an idea I had earlier but didn't bring up because I couldn't think of how to achieve it at the time, plus I was really busy with the concept art. But here it is now!

Coming to CenterCore Expo, Tenet is a new e-ticket “slot car” attraction themed to the hit 2020 Christopher Nolan sci-fi thriller. In the ride, you’ll use “Time Inversion” (as seen in the film) to experience the slot car both forwards and backwards in time.

The ride will become the “headliner” of a new Time Pavillion within the Expo, exploring mankind’s interactions with time.

84osbrhiDSmamH4EbNL3YN7ybA3NA_tzSQ1fh49dY3s3peHVsAWnE3YDwqGTSyKMyla8ynEE69lnFFODnDxTtNnnFcSEY4vQaES-ExWkC0OumNJ3H5TG6e7vk84IWwxqcjAkYSfN

Note: this is a confusing ride to describe, so please use this timeline for reference. If you actually rode the ride it’d be pretty simple, but writing it out makes it more complicated than it seems.

0.png

You exit the ride just as your past selves enter the ride.

PRE-SHOW
Guests queue in a modern, futuristic building. In the world of Tenet, the far future has developed technology that enables objects to be sent backward in time. This means they can plant objects into the ground and, a thousand years later, appear to us thousands of years in the past. Although modern technology has no means to develop this technology, the organization Tenet is working to reverse engineer a base model.

uB7A0X9oW715j1N5_O5RBZrx9UPpgcHRn0Md9iw09mcC_5vxu2fkUKtpfH7mR8yjoiZMU2YXb-VkX6Jv7k1h-jw6IkDQcP-PIwrq1l7PcWEThQyBxslgHeTgNlSPixCgaO9KFeuU

Guests are ushered into the pre-show, where they meet The Protagonist (John David Washington) who welcomes them as friends: their first meeting hasn’t happened yet. After providing a brief, visual explanation of time moving backwards (to you, it will appear like everyone else is moving backward because you interpret everything relative) it’s time for some time shenanigans. In fact, they’ve already started.

The Protagonist reveals the tinted windows behind him hold the guests’ future selves. By the laws of Physics, they cannot see their future, but their future can see them. The Protagonist has everyone wave and shout “hello future selves” to prove this point, and they then enter the Inverter Machine to invert.

Guests are now in the room with the tinted windows. Since the entire room is inverted, nothing looks off… except through the window, where we see ourselves stepping back out of the machine and redoing the entire first half of the pre-show, even waving and shouting to us to confirm the validity of the effect. We are watching time go backwards.

1.png

The Protagonist takes us to a second machine which re-inverts us to normal… when a sudden boom is heard. The Protagonist points out that’s likely just your future selves doing something on the ride.

THE RIDE
Now that the basics have been explained, we are ready to board the slot cars. Tenet needs you for tests for reverse-engineering time inversion. All we need to do is to drive around a bit, enter the inversion machine on the other side of the water, go through, and redo our trip backwards.

1603428829378.png

And that’s exactly what happens. As we start off, we see an identical car but with tinted windows drive out from the exit backwards. This is us from the future. We see them as leaving the station when from their inverted point of view they just arrived.

Two tracks exist: one for the forward-moving cars (marked in red), and the other for the backwards moving cars (marked in blue). As you zoom around CenterCore Expo, enjoying the sites and overall just having a half-long TestTrack experience, the tinted slot cars are moving backwards. At one point, the cars nearly crash, but aside from this all goes well and we make it to the machine.

At the machine, the cars drive in and then begin to circle. Tinted windows rise from the previously windowless frames. We are now ready to breathe carbon dioxide.

The doors open… and the world is moving backwards.

1JbEeG6Nn6z7PKBNNxRwUlQ-qkkT9qcxgpM7BwNqb_mxN6MNNOawQQ2jEfBKASURPMiSer75zaI2YzSrxZCBlGcqPtzfuxwiphSFJDuH8E4ZDktQ7liQtS6LRsamG6IgJtd8B0yg

2.png

The ride now becomes a full-on simulator, traveling in a show-building but with screens for each window showing exactly what the tinted slot cars saw, making the effect seamless. Guests will really believe they are in the tinted slot cars from before moving backwards.

Furthermore, guests will see themselves riding backwards. When the cars almost crash, they’ll get to see their past selves up close on the ride. When they zip past the guests watching, they’ll wave to family a second time. Even passing animals or water currents will be a spectacle, as we see time as we know it moving backwards.

Every ride is a different experience. Day? Night? Your reactions? Whatever’s happening outside in CenterCore? Ride multiple times to see different times and events inverted.

After closely interacting with our past selves (who we see as moving backwards, remember), we reach a long strip where the cars enter maximum speed: a great ending to the ride. Finally, we exit, watching our past selves exiting to the boarding area as well.

But just as the ride appears over, there is a malfunction in the system. We completely zoom past the exit area and are zipped to an interior warehouse, where craziness is-a-bound. Forward and reverse objects interact, forcing us to dodge and weave past our surroundings. Because this is still a simulator, the ride can behave as crazy as it wants (every group has the same screen at this point).

SN-OlfbMwiT3fYCFSrKR6Gq_xFSgE-w-6j5rPLXYUqP_QFCqCeaKs0RDBZg0w06UWjOIi_KP_H07lNCbA23JS3S20-JAApi1UCZocj69OsfdZiOLSyMNKJqqocEtpugRCMJKRAsw

The Protagonist comes on microphone, explaining this wasn’t supposed to happen and must be a malfunction of some kind, just hang on tight. Then, we turn and begin driving straight into a building… when suddenly, the bottom explodes and the blown top invertedly explodes (or puts itself back together) allowing us to speed on to safety.

The resulting boom was what we heard earlier in the pre-show.

EXIT
Guests are then re-inverted to normal (through the car this time) and may exit. As we do, the Protagonist introduces himself to us for the first time, though he acknowledges from our point of view you’ve already met him. Our mission complete, we head back to CenterCore… though not without looking through a one-way mirror showing a recording of us entering the ride for the first time. It seems we exited the ride just as our past selves entered it. How convenient.

CONCLUSION
This would be a spectacle: anyone who has seen the movie can attest, and it’ll be 100 times better when it's custom like this. Confusing? Yes, same as the movie, it’s meant to be high concept. Impractical? Possibly, although I’d say using the techniques I suggested it is possible, just maybe expensive to make happen. But the result would be incredible and cause a massive draw for this park, so I would call the costs justified.

Besides, the ride’s already been approved. It’s just that:

Meow meow! Welcome to a land of cats, based on the critically-lauded financially-ruinous 2019 hit film of the same name. At Catsland, you find all sorts of things related to Cats! Ride our many Cats-themed rides, shop at our many Cats-themed stores, and dine at many of our Cats-themed restaurants! Who will become the Jellicle Choice? That's for you to decide because the real Cats were the Cats we found along the way! It's a theme park themed to Cats! What's there not to hate?

View attachment 494619

There are seven essential areas in Cats Land: Main Street, Chinatown, Trafalgar Square, The River Thames, Westminister Square, The Railways, The Park, and the Egyptian Theater. Let's break each one down.

MAIN STREET
Walking down the main entrance, guests see on the far end the iconic Egyptian Theater, from the beloved Cats (2019). Along each side is the oversized streets of London, as seen in the brilliant film. Guests can explore the vast singe pathway area all the while seeing real actors dressed up as cats from the beloved Cats (2019), along with some other real Cats from the ASPCA that would naturally escape from the adoption center.

View attachment 494621

Milk Bar
Much like the movie, the Milk Bar is a place where guests can come to listen to some jazzy music, watch some dancing, and drink milk(shakes). Unlike the bar from the movie, the oversized bar will have a human-sized bar within it. Around the bar, there will be several stages where dancers can perform and musicians can play. The highlight of every day at the park will be Rum Tum Tugger’s musical set, where he will re-enact his scene from the film but with additional original songs and some remixes thrown in to preserve the style that Jason Derulo brought to the role. The bar will also serve food, being similar to a 50s style diner. But in addition to the stereotypical 50s diner food like burgers, sandwiches, and the like, it will be known as a place to make specialty milkshakes. Regular offerings could include the “Rum Tum Toffee Shake”, the “Minty Mistoffelees”, and the “Bombalurina Banana”.

Jennyanydots’ Jitterbug Jubilee
Much like the Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, this attraction will shrink guests down to the size of mice and bugs to show the musical show created by none other than Jennyanydots. The show begins with Jennyanydots 3D face taking up a large portion of the screen, almost like a person unfamiliar with Zoom, as she describes the effort she took to create the show. Then, she gives way to her dancing mice, complete with her awkward dancing in the background. After a couple musical numbers from the mice, Jennyanydots interrupts the show, eating a couple of the performers and inviting the bugs onto the screen. The bugs perform, and then Jennyanydots, the (remaining) mice, and the bugs put on a big finale. At the end of the show, guests exit into a gift shop loaded with cat, mouse, and bug merchandise!

Mischief Making Mansion
For presumably the first time ever, guests will be put into an indoor wild mouse roller coaster; however, this coaster will have several major technological advancements. First, the coaster will actually be themed with genuine ride scenes. Projection effects will enable guests to feel like they are in the mansion. Guests will go through the mansion wrecking it, as the projections show Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer leading the charge through the mansion. At the end, guests will be able to create Rube Goldberg machines to destroy more (replaceable) objects for a small fee.

The Cemetery
Devoid of attractions and general whimsy, the Cemetery allows guests to relax or mourn the premature second death of the movie musical. Be sure to stop by the very spot where Tom Hooper's career has been peacefully laid to rest. Guests may enter the ornate mausoleum and pay their respects. Here, the Best Picture Oscar for "The King's Speech" lays in state for curious guests to witness and mourn. Flowers may be purchased at the Dandy Lions' Flower Shop for $30 a rose (20% of proceeds will go to the ASPCA.)

CHINATOWN
Chinatown is going to be a slightly oversized version of the real London Chinatown, with candles covered in canvas will eb n the air and lodes of market shops and food stalls lining the street. Fod will range from fancy stuff like, steaks and fried chikun to nudles and more asiany foods. Different chinese stores and goods, and a few british shops will sell . ton s of other merch to imerse guests in the chinatown envirenment. Also, cats will be walking down the street because it is a cats park hahaha.

TRAFALGAR SQUARE
Trafalgar Square in our cats park will be very unique in that it will be an oversized swimming pool. There will be a splash pad area, but the main attraction is the swimming pool within the fountain. We’ll provide lockers, but towels will cost money. Guests will either bring their own towels or buy our overpriced towels. Additionally, we will sell overpriced, cats themed swimsuits, which will be perfect to get a strong estimate of how popular our pool is. Another cool feature is that the lifeguards will be painted gray to fit in with the stone statues, so guests will think there isn’t a lifeguard on duty, until the “statue” saves someone! It’ll really make the pool immersive.

THE RIVER THAMES
It's a jolly good time at the world-famous River Thames. The heady smell of rotting fish perpetually permeates through the air, guiding guests to a stunning recreation of the heavily polluted River Thames circa 1926. Looking down into the water, guests may spy that old Bravo Cat Growltiger as he guides guests through the Growltiger Garbage Barge River Adventure. Like a furry Huckleberry Finn he guides guests on an exciting adventure of song and trash. Stop by Jellicle Fish and Jellicle Chips for all your fish 'n chips needs, but watch out for that old gumby cat Bustopher Jones ; he may just stop by to steal your meal. Or your purse mints. Anything edible, really. He's a cat, not an epicurean.

Growltiger Garbage Barge River Adventure
Make your way to the brown, polluted waters of the River Thames and and hop aboard the barge owned by none other than the world-famous Bravo Cat, Growltiger. Make your way around oversized "people boats," helping Growltiger pick garbage out of the river to add to his barge collection as he regales you with the stories of his youth as he steers your boat past some of his favorite haunts in what is sure to be the most romantic attraction in the park.

EXPLANATION: Growltiger is a character who appears in the 2019 film adaptation of the 1981 musical "Cats." In this rendition of the character, he guided guests down the River Thames as he waxes poetically, and musically, about the stories of his youth. Growltiger is played by a live actor. Each Garbage Barge will feature a different Growltiger ready to paddle curious guests down the physical and metaphorical river that is the old Bravo Cat's life. We hope that this will provide a unique romantic experience for guests looking for a quiet evening while also seamlessly featuring the important message of conservationism.

WESTMINSTER SQUARE

At the far end of the brown River Thames stands Westminster Square, themed to the Palace of Westminister: the most iconic structure in all of London. Although this region never appeared in the beloved Cats (2019) film, Universal Creative has taken on the very exciting role of expanding the Cats Universe! Guests will surely be amazed by this wonderful continuation of such a beloved world.

Entering into the plaza, guests are drawn to the "weenie", the Elizabeth Tower. To further emphasize the Elizabeth Tower's (informally called "Big Ben") status as a weenie, Hot Dogs will be sold just outside. Why a Hot Dog Stand has set up next to a historical monument in the universe is never explained.

For this is no ordinary monument. You see, Big Ben is actually the top-secret base of Macavity, the evil cat who wishes to cheat his way to the Heaviside Layer. Although it would make sense for a secret base to appear unassuming on first glance, only revealing its evil purpose upon further inspection and creating a small layer of horror, it is much cooler to have a distinguished Maccavity animatronic on top of the Tower who periodically shouts "MA-CAVITTTTTY!!!" just so every guest knows what's up. It worked for the fire-breathing dragon, why not the weird jazz cat?

The Palace of Westminister houses Macavity's Show of Gravity, a drop tower that is in no way or form a ripoff of the Tower of Terror. Anyone who says that is ridiculous. Does the Tower of Terror have an Idris Elba recording shouting about the Heaviside Layer while you plummet down the oversized gears of a giant clocktower? I thought not.

Exiting from the tower is a modern building, home to Westminster Gift Shop, selling all British themed merchandise in both human and cat size. On the walls are various hit "memes" of funny cat pictures all in impact font. This hip and cool place will definitely not be already outdated upon opening day.

Also present in this area is the Double Decker Bus, which... is a parked bus. You can look at it or you can take a picture. No, you can't go inside silly! Counts as an attraction on the park count!

THE RAILWAYS
View attachment 494617

All aboard! The Railways will consist of a single massive train station resembling Paddington Station. Near the road are small shop vendors, all selling, you guessed it, cats related merchandise.

At the center is the main station, housing Shimleshanks' Railway Taptacular. Step aboard the Hogwarts Catpurr Express on a journey around London, all the while Shimbleshanks and his furry companions join for a round of singing and dancing.

This attraction blurs the line between ride and show. Lasting six minutes (counteracted by the vast seating per show), the train's windows are simulated, similar to the Hogwarts Express in Universal. However, unlike the Hogwarts Express, this attraction does not actually move. It remains in place. The journey lasts three songs -- first the Shimbleshanks song as seen in the beloved Cats (2019), and then two original songs dedicated to the railroad. As these songs are played, we can see our travels around the various districts of London, accompanied by Cats of many forms dancing along.

THE PARK

View attachment 494623

The Park would contain a Chasing Pigeons themed Trackless Dark Ride #832 of the Season, but unfortunately, we ran out of budget, so the land will open completely empty asides from a few places to sit.

EGYPTIAN THEATER
This theater will have multiple floors. On the first one, guests can watch the Cats musical to really add to the meta-ness of this epic theme park. On the second floor, guests can go into a hopping night club where they can go to dance to all the best cat music all day and all night long. On the third floor will be a lounge exclusive to ASPCA adopters, who will get a chance to shop for exclusive Cats merchandise for their own cats! However, the crown jewel of the entire park will be the Jellicle Ball, taking place in front of the Egyptian Theater every night, where guests will watch as Old Deuteronomy makes her selection for the Jellicle Choice. However, instead of Grizabella, Old Deuteronomy will choose a guest from the crowd. This guest will be escorted (hopefully not forcefully) to the hot air balloon, where they will have to fly the hot air balloon to the entrance. Although guests won’t be escorted by a cast member, they will have instructions on how to pilot the balloon, and if they have any issues and complain, the ASPCA will give them a cat.

I didn't feel entirely comfortable redoing someone else's work, so I decided to fix up one of my previous projects, and @PerGron already did an amazing job with my weakest one, so...

Summer Festival Atmosphere

Welcome to the Summer Festival at Seasons of Fantasy! Within this forest lies an eternal Renaissance Fair where fun and whimsy await you. This is quite a lively area, so let's take a look around, shall we?

Whhw_LqLhjsRCIDGJlWq7LqtxjL55VG4524ev5y1xD4jZ9jQv5FvF8n9Nrb2TRwUgFb00rng0ORV45DrIPpgqaQvlGfVEpOrFwlqEFTwVdr317JttZQG

Like any good festival, tents are all around the fairgrounds. These aren't just for show, though. In addition to the main four tents (Attla the Bun, Robin Hood’s Archers In Training, Maximus's Fruit Stand, Rapunzel's Arts and Crafts), most of the tents actually sell various artisan goods. Some of them even let watch the craftsmen at work.

barelybalanced.JPG

There are also two performance spaces to see. Over by Rapunzel's Tour of Corona lies the Showman's Stage. where you can many wonderous performers, from jugglers, to acrobats, and maybe even a magician or two. The exact line-up changes from day-to-day, so you'll never know who you might see.

Meanwhile, over by Robin Hood's Merry Adventure is the Castle of Nottingham, which is home to the Knight's Grounds. Here, you can meet the Knights of Nottingham, who decide to hold a friendly sparing tournament between themselves. (The knights are fully armored like your average renaissance fair knight, but with the helmet designed to accommodate animal features like muzzles, as to keep the Robin Hood theming without comprising the performer's abilities with mascot head or the like.) You might also find Robin Hood hiding in one of the nearby tents, having just come back from raiding the treasury (seems someone forgot to take the key out of the lock).

Dancing-700x420.jpg

In addition, there are several interesting characters wandering the fairgrounds for you to meet, from noblemen who have clearly never stepped out of a castle before, to woodsmen who are a bit too quick to assume things they down understand to be witchcraft, to ladies-in-waiting who enjoy a good love story... even if it only exist in their heads. Special mention must be given to the various wandering mistrals, who perform classic Disney songs in a beautiful medieval style. Do be careful around that two-man theater group carting around, though. Their comedic takes of classic stories (some Disney, some not) might give you a good case of the giggles, but they like to bring more people into the act and it might not be so funny while on the other side of things.

Hey, guys. I'm just going to throw reviews up for the veto projects right now because I have to work tomorrow. I know we're still waiting on @Mickeynerd17. I probably won't have a written review up until the well after the results have been announced, but I will give the judges scores so they can tally the results. Anyway, on to the reviews:

--------------------------------

Seasons of Fantasy - @Brer Panther
I really like what you have going on here. It was definitely a smart idea to try to make each subland a bit more thematically consistent. With Spring, I really love the focus on nature. Flowers and Trees was a fantastic addition, and I really enjoy the Bambi expansion. Focusing on vegetarian options is a super smart move with the theme that you were focusing on. The only real complaint that I have is that Pastoral Symphony might be a bit redundant. The idea is great and certainly fits in with what you're going for, but it's right next to the Fantasia subland. Unless you were intending it to be a transition of sorts? I do like your choices for Summer. Definitely the most realistic and grounded change of the bunch to gut the 4D show and turn it into a restaurant. Your choices for Autumn make sense, but I think that you were limiting yourself by only changing the ride system for NBC. I think that it would have been worth it to adjust the ride to fit the new ride system better. I'm not going to knock you for it; I just thought that it was worth mentioning. I love your choices for Winter. Frozen is, frankly, overdone so I really appreciate you doing something different with it. It helps bridge the two
sub-sublands together very well and generally sounds like a lot of fun. Assuming that this is mainly just a dark ride and a shop, I think that this is an incredibly realistic alternative for what was initially pitched. All in all, I think that this is your strongest showing this season. All of your choices were very well thought out, and your ideas were very strong/ consistent. Keep up this quality of work and you'll go far.

Christmas Town - @NigelChanning09
It me. I'm Disney enthusiasts. Firstly, I really appreciate you addressing this really obvious missed opportunity. It wasn't necessarily the most creative option, but I'm still glad that someone went in this direction, and pulled it off so well. The attractions pitched are very solid, and I love the focus on utilizing the characters and themes of both Christmas and Halloween Town. The vignettes sound really great, and I really enjoyed how true you tried to keep to the song. I think my only complaint it, ironically, the placement. Obviously, using this as a transition point is a very smart idea, but my problem lies in that you added yet another land to an already very crowded land. I think that this would have been more successful as a replacement for Arendelle - kind of like what Brer Panther did with their Santa's Workshop. But aside from that, I really love what you created here. This was a very natural expansion to your Fantasyland, and I think that you were mostly successful in pulling this off. Great job,

Adventure Atoll: Year 10 - @PerGron
I absolutely did not almost tag Outbound in this review. Moving on, I really appreciate you going back to try to perfect this land. I think that one of the biggest issues with the original Adventure Atoll was, naturally, that there were just so many people trying to work on this hyper-focused land, so it was nice to be able to see your unhindered vision for what this land should be. Onto the specifics, I really adore the changes that you implemented for Sirens of Atlantis. One of my biggest issues with the land was the lack of consistency, especially with the steampunk elements, so I really love that you addressed this in an incredibly realistic way. All of the choices made here made total sense with the story, and I love that we get to see failed tests in the queue. It adds a really interesting layer of suspense even before guests board the ride.

I also really love the changes that you made to Escape of the Gem Dragon. It was very smart to give the attraction a bit more of an edge, and all of the changes you made were great. I think that you got a little too far back into steampunk territory with the drill, but you definitely pulled the attraction as a whole off very well. I love all of the new effects (especially the drill falling off), and the overall message that you gave the attraction. I really appreciated Kanikani o te Motu. I don't have a ton to say about it, but I'm all for adding more Maori influence to the land. Correct me if I'm wrong (it's been a while since I read the initial Adventure Atoll), but I don't think that there was much Maori influence in the original version of the land, so I really like that it's been given a bit more focus. All of the choices made here made total sense with the story, and I love that we get to see failed tests in the queue. It adds a really interesting layer of suspense even before guests board the ride. The choices made for the general scenery were, again, very smart and consistent with the backstory. All in all, this is an absolutely stellar proposal, and definitely turned around what I think was the land that was most at odds with itself.

Realism: 9/10

Tenet - @Outbound
This is definitely the most interesting of what's been pitched so far. Generally, I enjoyed it. Aside from the improbability of Disney building a ride based on Tenet, I think that the technology used is generally realistic, aside from a few things like the sheer number of moving parts in some scenes. I enjoyed the story, and the general experience seems like a lot of fun. If I have any real issues with this project it's that I wish that you addressed the land as a whole rather than just focusing on this one attraction. All in all, I think that this was a great pitch for an attraction. I just would have liked to see more of the land addressed as well.
Creativity: 10/10
Realism: 7/10

Total: 21/25

Summer Festival Atomsphere - @b-wolf95
Another great project. Like Outbound, I would have liked to have seen you address the land as a whole, but I respect your reasoning for not wanting to do that. In terms of what you did present, I think that you were largely successful. You basically turning this land into a glorified Renaissance Fair was a really interesting idea, certainly a unique one for a Disney park. All of your additions were very realistic in focusing on shows and shops. I think that you were able to round out your land very well. I love the sense of place that you gave Nottingham with the addition of streetmosphere, and shows. It all really adds to the experience and just furthers its uniqueness. The biggest issue that I have is that I think that you exacerbated the identity crisis that Summer Festival had in the first place. I think that if you maybe cut Tangled entirely and replaced it with something like Brave or another medieval England-centric IP the land would have flowed a bit better, especially with the Renaissance Fair feel. I just still worry about the transition from the Spanish castle towns of Tangled to Sherwood Forest/ Nottingham. Aside from that, I think that I would have liked to see like one larger addition to the land. Even if it was something smaller like a flatride, it would have helped to round out the land even more. Really great project. Aside from those few small issues, I really enjoyed what you pitched.

Realism: 8/10

I'm just now realizing that everyone is tied except for PerGron. I promise that this wasn't intentional. I just thought that everyone did a really great job, and all of your pitches were very consistent with one another, aside from PerGron who I thought outpaced the rest pretty handily. Kudos all around. You should all be proud of what you produced.

My submission:

CenterCore Expo Overhaul:

Untitled4_20201022232829.png

It's been 10 years since Blue Sky Disneyland opened it's doors for guests. The majority of the park is quite popular with guests, but the CenterCore Expo section is not as popular among families and young millennials, mainly due to the popularity of the redone Epcot over at WDW. Blue Sky Disneyland is lacking bars, upcharge events, and overpriced food. These will now be the "center" of CenterCore Expo's "core" ideas (how punny).

How did it start? Well, the Bobs back at executive headquarters in Burbank were realizing that they made a bad mistake. They tried to include original attractions along with IP rides, but it's just not as popular as shoving IPs everywhere. To alleviate this problem, an overhaul was planned. The goals of this overhaul would be:

1. Make it more timeless, more relevant, and more Disney.

2. add a kid-friendly attraction

3. add a bar/add more alcohol to the land.

4. shove as much IP into the land as possible. (no need to make it cohesive).

5. make an upcharge late-night party with overpriced merch and food.

So, here are the updates:

1. Removing unnecessary logos from the land.

Found throughout the land are way too many Epcot logos. These not only tie it to Epcot, but are wholly unnecessary, also it saves money to not have them, so we'll cut those right there.

Untitled5_20201022233810.png

Untitled6_20201022233907.png

2. Add the CenterCore Twilight Party

Who doesn't love another event to pay out your nose for!? Well, here is our answer to that question!

theater-3-768x512.jpg

The CenterCore Twilight Party is an up-charge event that allows guests to stay in the land from normal park close to 2 AM on party nights. Only available during the summer.

All attractions in the land (except The Expo Brew Tour) are open for this party, meaning you can hang out with your favorite pals, ride rides, pay for expensive merch, and eat overpriced food!

3. Update SustainAbility to The Expo Brew Tour, and add The Expo Brewhouse.

There is just not enough alcohol in this land. The millennials are dying to drink their hearts out while they text on their phones, and their attendance numbers are needed to keep the Company afloat (see what I did there).

Sure Sure, they're all health nuts, eating kale and avocado toast, but they're suckers for IPAs, so why not capitalize on that? SustainAbility had outdated methods and was too focused on eating healthy, so instead the greenhouses are converted into a brewery where hops are grown, and the entire process of making beer is the theme of the boat ride. Then, when guests disembark, they immediately are funneled into The Expo Brewhouse, where they can try some of the beer made in the very ride they just rode.

And, if push comes to shove, the ride makes a good rest stop to post something on Instagram.

And finally, the ride you've all been waiting for.....

...they said it couldn't be done, but they were proven wrong....

I, mickeynerd17, humbly present to you.....

Chicken Little: Alien Rescue!

Untitled7_20201022234223.png

The largest update in the land will include a new family friendly buzz-lightyear-style omnimover shooter to the land, which will replace the outdated Iron Man ride.

Now, how did the executives come to such a conclusion to use Chicken Little? Well, here's the backstory:

So, Walt Disney Productions released a brand-new addition to their extensive list of live-action films, this time being Chicken Little. The original animated film was released alongside it for more profits just in case it flopped in theaters.

The result was the live-action film was pretty successful among millennials, but families were more attracted to the original animated one, mainly because a live-action animated Chicken Little was a bit too realistic for children.

The Bobs, realizing they had another IP at their disposal, decided to make a ride out of this new success. The Imagineers tasked with such a project had a heated argument of approximately 2 seconds, which resulted in a unanimous desicion to base the ride off of the original animated film, mainly because of its success with families, and also so that little kids wouldnt have their minds scarred by seeing a live-action animated Buck Cluck animatronic.

Ok, now back to the ride!

The old Iron Man pavilion was destroyed, mainly because they had no idea where to put it. (They would have demolished New Horizons, but it was sponsored by SpaceX, so that wasn't an option). A new structure resembling a flying saucer which crash-landed on a grassy knoll sticking out from the water was built in replacement.

download (3).jpeg

The main ride story is that guests team up with Kirby and Chicken Little to rescue the aliens that were scattered by the crashing saucer while they fix the ship. Guests board special collecter vehicles, each with a laser gun to teleport the aliens back to the ship while traveling all through Oakey Oaks to find them. Along the way, Guests run into Buck Cluck and other characters from the film as they try to find some of the aliens. At the end of the ride, Kirby and Chicken Little thank the guests for rescuing the aliens, and the vehicles return to unload.

Vlcsnap-2015-10-01-12h48m05s455.png

The show scenes are physical sets with movie characters being represented as animatronics, but the "targets" are screens of aliens that when shot at, they "disappear" as if they were teleported.

After unload, guests are funneled into a gift shop with overpriced merch, and attached to said shop is a meet-and-greet with Chicken Little himself!

As a note, the people mover track would run outside the ride building.

So, there ya have it, a totally uncohesive land shoved to the brim with IP, upcharge events, and alcohol! Who could ask for more? I know the Bobs would!

(ok, gonna be honest here, this submission is partly a joke, partly a serious concept, and partly a satire on Disney. I just thought we all needed a laugh after the chaos of yesterday, but I please ask the judges to still judge this submission normally🤣.)

I've got 2 more lectures today (not including the one I'm in now 😬 🤣 ) and some HW to do before podcasts... hoping to have reviews up for everything, but I'll probably prioritize the veto review since the podcast tonight is on those!
But yes, great job everyone! Based on the scores we've gotten so far, it's a tight race!
