Why would any female character have to be in the girliest of outfits?
guessing...Little girls respond to Princess-style outfits. The more fantastic and sparkly the better... There was a very short line to visit Pantsuit Cinderella and Jumpsuit Belle...lol
The setting at the Grand Floridian also makes one want the characters dressed in fancier attire... If Taian were appearing at the Wilderness Lodge, then her Explorer outfit would feel just right...

She doesn't, but why is she informally (and in my opinion, frumpily) dressed when no other character will be? It doesn't fit the setting or the occasion, and makes her conspicuous for looking less elegant, less royal, and less sophisticated than the others, for no reason.

Disney's response to what most guests will want from (at least) a breakfast buffet:

Also, because it's WDW, a place where most people go to get away from everyday life. A princess attire is special, and probably what many kids expect to see a princess wear.

Imo, Tiana wearing her princess/fancier dress at the Grand Floridian just makes sense.

Is it just me or every time Disney makes a decision on something now I shake my head and facepalm
If I didn’t know better (and I’m not sure I do?)…id think they’re trolling their fans.

“You want what? Well how about I give you THIS?!?”

It reminds me of that scene In the third Star Wars movie where jar jar mugs for the camera in a scene…as if Lucas was just twisting the knife?

That was the glaring omission right from the get-go! That menu is not even remotely designed for the average child that would be dining there for the character experience. I'd be curious to see how poorly parents rate that breakfast after their children won't touch it.

There are so many other character breakfasts where you can get that. I'm glad they opted for something different. Also, most kids will gladly scarf down doughnut holes, cinnamon pull-apart bread, breakfast pizza (depending what's on it), and muffins. Most will eat the bread pudding too. I don't think it'll be as big an issue as you think.

Isn’t that the truth.

Us - wouldn’t it be nice if they did X
Them - best I can do is the complete opposite and continue to kill the parks and resorts

People don’t go to those for the cuisine

It will fail and they will change

Within a week they’ll be slinging pancakes or waffles…and then running plates from the kitchen with bacon

It still amazes me how many people think Orlando is like the Sorbonne crossed with the mandarin oriental in Singapore
