111 Days Away: A Very First PTR

111 days away... you don't know how long I've waited to be able to make a PTR about this! But, before I get into the report itself, a brief timeline of the progression of this very trip:

The start (a la March 2011) - a land/sea trip with my now ex to Disney in November (obviously, this is NOT that trip).

The new trip (March '11 to a few weeks ago) - we broke up (two weeks after we came up with the idea; he was not worth it), and my two best guy friends (Dan and Eric) decided that the three of us should go for a trip instead. So we decided on a February trip for us, and my best girlfriend (the bff), so we could do the Princess Half Run for my 23rd birthday. During this time (a la July 4th), Dan and I became an official couple - two years after we should have done so.

The changes (starting a few weeks ago) - Trip was changed from an off-site to Disney, then changed to before the run so we could get the free DP. Then, our 2 bedroom villa idea was changed to a Value resort (gee, thanks RCI for screwing that over) because our certificate wasn't useful in Disney like it was promised to us. THEN, the bff dropped out because of money... then Eric dropped out just this past Monday. Leading to the trip we now have!

Whew, that was a mess to write when watching a video of the 6-year-old me being in WDW. :p

The Cast
First, you have yours truly. I will be 22 during the trip (since we are going a week before my birthday), and this is my 19th time to the World. But, I haven't been inside any of the parks since 2008, so I've been feeling disconnected.

Then, you have my darling BF... who would probably be embarrased by my using "darling" to describe him online anywhere. Dan will be 23 for our trip, since we leave the day after his birthday. Happy birthday to us! He's never been to WDW, but has been to the land once when he was younger (a fact that I am indeed jealous of). So, brand new experience for him, one that I'm so excited about.

We both love Disney, and he likes to gloat that he owns more movies (especially VHS) than I do (jerk). Though, the amusing part is we're both very partial to Beauty and the Beast... even if he likes Gaston more than anyone!

Yes, I'm on my tip-toes because someone is much taller than me...

When
February 13th - February 17th

Where
Pop Century Resort

How
Flying Southwest in and out of Philadelphia

Celebrating
Our 23rd birthdays, Valentine's Day (YAY), Dan's first trip, and me just getting to go back home again!

What are we doing while we're there?
Ok, this is where it gets a little into the shady area still! I just booked the trip two days ago (I don't waste PTR time lol) through Kingdom Konsultants (thanks Richard!!!!!), and the ADR's are still getting made up. Like, I literally just sent the email with my time ranges and alternates.

So far, our week looks like this:
Monday the 13th - leave for airport around 4:30/5am, flight takes off at 7am. Landing 9:35am. After getting checked into Pop, head over to AK for a good few hours. Hopefully dinner at T-Rex in DD (Dan loves dinosaurs and wants to go here the most), and then we'll head to one of the parks for either rides or some fireworks.

Tuesday the 14th - MK and Valentines Day! As well as a hopeful for going to 1900 Park Fare for dinner at GF so Dan can meet the step sisters.

Wednesday the 15th - Epcot. I really wanted to do this on Tuesday, but with it being EMH that day I didn't want to chance the crowds too much. Our biggest thing with this day is going to be the countries, because we're both really interested in how heratiges differ. Of course, FW will get some quality time, but we're looking forward to all the time in WS. And for me, all of the shopping in the countries. ADR hope: Teppan Edo.

Thursday 2/16 - Studios! Dan is a movie buff, especially with Star Wars, so he's been asking me questions about how we'll get the most out of this day. Really, he just wants to know how many times he can ride Star Tours, and how long he'll have in the shop. :hammer: For me, this is where my favorite rides and shows are, so he has to deal with being dragged around for a bit instead. But we're also looking at Sci-Fi for lunch, and Fantasmic! that evening. I made sure not to book when it was still in referb, so I'm hoping that all the problems it's having will be fixed then!

Friday 2/17 - back home. :( This is the one day that I hate the most, but Chef Mickeys for breakfast, and whatever last minute shopping and pool time we can fit in will help ease my pain I hope. Return flight leaves at 6pm, getting us back to Philly around 8:30, and Delaware around 9 or so.

So, here's my biggest obstacle now that we have (almost) everything booked.... figuring out what to do to make both Valentines and our birthdays special. Any suggestions???:shrug:

A random Dan quote from last night that had to be shared (well two of them really):

"Don't expect too much for Christmas, because I need to save for my half of our Disney trip... so you'll only get about 3 or 4 presents." I was only expecting one...

And the more fun quote: "I was watching the Gaston scene the other night, and I realized why all the girls are single... all the guys want Gaston."

Oh, and 82 days! :D

Me and Crazy Countdowns

Friends and family (especially Dan) like to make fun of me for my ability to know the exact amount of days to different events (like... 24 days until Christmas, 73 days until Dan's birthday, 74 days until Disney, 85 days until MY birthday...), but they don't realize I have post its in my office to get me even more excited about some of them!

From when the Disney reservations were first complete:

What it looks like today!

I've been able to mark 30 days off of this countdown, meaning... we're about 1/3 of the way there! (2 months and 12 daysssss)

Lol, I just thought I would share my silliness with everyone... figured it would be much more appreciated on here than it is amongst my life in Delaware. :lookaroun

The downside right now: Dan's boss is trying to tell him that he's not allowed to take off that week because Valentine's Day is a "national holiday." .... Dan works in pharmacy, what is he suppose to do, sell candy instead of drugs??? UGH.

We have been counting down for almost two years. I randomly pop out how many days are left to my family and they think I am crazy. 358 days until we get to Disney! :ROFLOL:

50

Well, it's almost at the 50 day mark (ahhhh), but I figured I wouldn't be able to post ON Christmas to say Happy 50 days away! But, then again, you never know... :drevil:

My mother told me the other night that there are Valentines Day stuff in the store already... the only thing that did was get me excited because, well, I'll be in Disney on Valentines Day. Happy dance, happy dance!!

One really important thing I have been working on (pretty much started at the 100 day mark more or less) is getting my weight down for the trip. So far, I've lost about 10 lbs since I've started my new weightloss plan (yay!)... and I had it figured out that I could lose almost 30 by the time the trip rolls around, if I lose 2lbs a week over the next few weeks. So, stay tuned on how that one goes!

Can't wait to hear all about your trip, the weather, and the crowds. We were looking at Feb vs. Apr trip in 2012 at Pop Century and settled for Apr hoping for warmer weather (although Feb would have been slightly cheaper).

The trip's a month from tomorrow! Ah, so excited!

I realized I never shared the best part of my Christmas (well, the best part related to this trip... since the best best part is a pretty necklace hanging around my neck from a certain Daniel): I got a new camera. Dan decided that my camera I had was terrible (it was true), so he bought me a P&S Cannon Powershot that I've had my eye on, and I've been playing with it nonstop. :)

Color accent, my new favorite setting... and my newest piece to add to my Jim Shore collection.

Dan had a good Christmas too, he got a new hoodie from my parents that I rarely see him without (and he's really excited to wear in DHS. Yay, he's starting to understand!) :

Now that Christmas is over, I barely get to see Dan.. this weekend is Beauty and the Beast (FINALLY), and then I'll be busy the next two weeks with Pampered Chef stuff, so I won't really see him again until Superbowl weekend.. which is the week right before Disney. Wow. That's crazy.

On top of all of the awesome stuff that's been given to me at Christmas (including a new shirt that I didn't give a picture of hehe), I'm down now almost 18 lbs, and still a month to go. :sohappy:

This morning, like many others, I woke up to a sight that I am never welcoming:

My poor car!

But... that's ok, because last night (which is the MOST important part of this update), these showed up on my doorstep!

For some reason my photobucket won't save that they've been turned??

23 more days... it's right around the corner! Now for the big question... what do I get Dan for his birthday and Valentine's?

Hey have a great trip!! Congrats on the pounds shed.....Tower 10Miler will be here soon enough too.....we love Disney Races and this one I cannot wait to run and compare it to the original.

When you are there next month, see if you can book a bounceback rate from your room at Pop. I was able to get one at Yacht Club for the Tower 10Miler dates!!! Woohoo!!

A classmate of mine is actually a seasonal CM, so she was planning on going with me so we could get really cheap rooms for the weekend. :)

I'm so excited to do my first Disney Race, just gotta keep training for it!

So Jess (PartOfYourWorld) told me that I needed to update my PTR because we have stumbled across some vital information that caused me to have a mini breakdown over planning :brick: Thank goodness for my Disney BFF at my side to help me out! The information, you ask?

Magic Kingdom extended hours while we are there.

The first night we're there, DHS has emh (which the plan was to go there after our dinner at DTD) until 10. Now MK is open until 11, so we were faced with the "which park do we go to?!?!?!?" question. The decision is that we're going to take our time at DTD (take time? what's this notion? I go nonstop until I collapse!) because we most likely will not have slept in about 36 hours or so by this point. Unless we really really really want to go to another park (guess who's going to be voting that route! ).

And our last night there, MK is also open until 11. So we'll head over there after we are in DHS that day.

Before this announcement, I made the executive decision not to see Wishes from inside MK because we would only be over there one day of the trip and I really wanted to see it from Sunset Pointe. Especially since we'll be at GF for dinner on Valentines (I thought it would be more romantic  ). But now... we may have a second chance to see Wishes from inside the park, depending on how we play it?

So that's my momentary update... now to go back to making my pre-trip shopping lis-- err, I mean, time to go back to work!

Earlier today, I went through and checked us in (gotta love online check-in!). Now comes the hardest part of this for me: the last ten days of waiting, which will include me watching the weather like a hawk and trying to stop myself from packing too early for the trip (and not letting myself pack too late).

Going shopping tomorrow for some essentials like ponchos and a camera case. What am I going to forget to get? :brick:
