Trip Report 10 days goes too fast in Disney World! July Trip Report

So.. I debated back and forth on whether or not I should write a trip report! Bringing back all my Disney memories is bittersweet, I wish I was still there! However, I do not want to forget anything about my wonderful, amazing trip so here goes! Hope you enjoy :)

I went to Disney from July 14-23, got stuck in Orlando so we didn't really leave until the 24th, with my best friend. This is my fourth trip to Disney and this was her probably 14th, haha. We had never been on vacation together, but we are inseparable at home, so we knew we'd have no problems!! I'm an Ariel lover, Disney World obsessed fan, who comes on these forums WAY TOO MUCH :) My name's Nicole and the girl with the brown hair is my best friend! :) Her favorite princess is Aurora, and is pretty upset there isn't a sleeping beauty ride, or show, or really anything in Disney World! We had tons of plans, we wanted to do the cupcake challenge, where you eat a different cupcake everyday, we wanted to drink around the world, we had a ton of things on our must do lists. Disney here we come!

Day One:

Our flight to Disney was at 6:00 AM from Newark so we had to be at the airport around 4 AM! We TRIED to go to sleep early, but all our adrenaline and excitement made that impossible! Finally around 10 PM we fell asleep, and set our alarms for 3:15 AM to go to the airport. When my alarm went off, I was a little cranky and wondered why we picked such an early flight, but then the excitement of going to Disney World crept up, and I was fully awake.

I'm the blonde!

Our flight there was super fast, and we arrived at 8:40 AM. We planned this right! We'd have a full day!! Off it was to find the magical express, did I mention, my friend and I are directionally challenged.
We went all the way downstairs and saw a bunch of Disney cruise buses only to find out we were on the wrong side of the airport, the magical express in on the B side just so everyone knows :) Back up the stairs and off to the other side we went.

We found the magical express area right away, and since it was early, it wasn't crowded at all! I remember when I went to Disney in November the lines being super long, but the lines were really short when we arrived! We hopped right on the bus, and we were off! Driving through the Walt Disney World sign gave me goosebumps, I could not believe I was really here! My level of excitement increased with each big purple sign with Mickey ears on top we passed.

imagejpg1_zpsee2f59b2.jpg

Stop one was Old Key West Resort, stop two was Saratoga Springs, and stop three was our new home, Port Orleans French Quarter! I had never stayed here before, but just seeing the signs saying "Welcome Home" made me all teary-eyed. I'm such a Disney sap.

We checked in immediately, there was no lines at all, and since I had done the online check in, our room was ready! We were in building 4, room 4309, near the bus stop and food court. We had a garden view, and the room was so pretty! We couldn't have asked for a better room!

We quickly unpacked our carry-ons since our luggage hadn't arrived yet, and then began exploring! We each packed all our headwear in our carry-ons, so for our very first day we decided to wear matching minnie-ears. While we unpacked, we watched Stacey! What kind of Disney trip is it if you don't watch her must dos! Unt pretzel, unt beer!

We walked along the Sassagoula River, checked out the pool area, and checked out the food court. This resort is BEAUTIFUL. It's small and easy to get around, and the landscapers were even the friendliest people. They offered to take our picture in front of the fountain. Thanks again!

After we made our way full circle around our resort, it was off to Magic Kingdom! It was around 1130 AM when we hopped on the first Disney bus to the parks! Hearing the themed music, where the horns are blaring to welcome you to the Magic Kingdom, made me instantly emotional! We put our key to world card up to the new Mickey turnstiles, watched Mickey light up green, and were inside! AHHHH!!!

We hurriedly picked up our photopass and continued on. That first walk down main street is still a blur in my mind. As soon as I saw that castle, I realized I was truly here, my happiest place on earth. The tears started welling up in my eyes, I could not believe it! After months of visiting these forums and looking at everyone's pictures, it was finally my turn! I was so happy and overwhelmed and then BAM the "move it, shake it, celebrate it" parade started going on. I swear it's like they were celebrating our arrival :) We both were laughing and dancing, and waving at every character that passed by. It was the best entrance I've ever had.

We couldn't decide what we wanted to do first, we had no plan! So we started wandering! We took as many photopass pictures and we could, and then decided to head to new fantasyland. We both had last visited in 2011, so we were excited! On the way, we saw a Tiana, and there wasn't a line, so we had to meet her right away! She was extremely nice, and really pretty!

New fantasyland did not live up to my expectations, I guess because the huge mine train is in the middle of everything. It kind of takes away from the whole immersive experience. I think I may have rathered they open everything up at once, instead of in stages. Don't get me wrong, all the detailing in this area of the park is one the reasons I love Disney World so much.. they truly go that extra mile.

Your pictures from Akershus are adorable! I always want to go there but feel awful dragging my Fiancé to a princess dinner, we keep saying when we have a daughter..sigh...I too feel it was the same Ariel, when I seen the picture I said to myself she looked familiar LoL I'm pretty positive it was from your Grotto pics!

Right?! She looks so similar in the face! I think that's always why she asked me which Ariel I prefered meeting, the one in the fin or the one in her dress. I guess she must have realized after I said I met her the other day in her grotto that I probably met her before! I love Ariel! She's the best princess! And that's sooo cute to take your future daughter! My boyfriend would kill me if I took him there lol

We were so incredibly stuffed after dinner we sort of just wandered around. Took some more photos, because you can really never have enough!

We didn't think we could handle any fast moving rides at the time, so we headed to Spaceship Earth! I love this ride, and it's a great place to rest full bellies! My friend had never ridden the new version with the "create your future" screens, so it was really funny to watch her reaction. I love that video at the end, it's so hysterical! We picked some crazy lifestyle, of being really active, living underwater, but using solar energy.

We then send an e-mail of our future to friends and family back home and they put your photo up on one of the LARGE screens. We were both cracking up hysterically. We didn't get enough the first time, so we decided a second ride was needed. My friend said we should make funny faces, and I succeeded, but she left me hanging! No one was in front of us or behind us, ride that thing at night people! There's no lines! We were pretty loud and laughing this go around. I tried to capture some moments. We also changed our future and said we enjoyed outdoor sports and I forget all what else! The pictures are somewhat embarrassing LOL

The guy told us if we wanted to stay on to just tell them, we didn't have to get off before. We thought we finally had enough of our future for awhile, let's enjoy the present! What to do next? Epcot was closing.. should we go back and rest??

We decided we weren't tired, giggling through SSE had given us a second wind, so we decided to go to MK! They were open late! And how to get there? I had never ridden a boat as transportation in Disney World, so my friend decided it was the perfect time :)

We took the ferry to Magic Kingdom and we were seriously 2 of 10 people on the whole boat! Everyone stayed on the lower level, we decided we needed the whole top level to ourselves so my friend led the way upstairs. It's really beautiful coming to MK on a boat at night. The way the castle grows bigger as you approach gives you ultimate goosebumps. Being the only two on top, we acted out some Titanic scenes and some of the CMs on the boat were laughing at us. Hey, it's Disney World! Anyone can act like a child!

We didn't really have a plan when we got to Magic Kingdom. My friend was pretty upset about her Sleeping Beauty photos because there was a huge glare from the sun in the ones from dinner, so we asked if she was meeting at the theater. They said they couldn't tell us for sure who was inside, but it typically is the three blondes, Cinderella, Rapunzel, and Sleeping Beauty. We really wanted to meet Rapunzel as well, we were on a mission for the princesses! The Electric light parade was about to start so the wait time was only 30 minutes. We figured, what the heck! Let's meet more princesses! Well now, just look who was inside!

I was super excited to meet Ariel, AGAIN!! Two times in one night, score! My friend, not so happy. Sleeping Beauty was not there! There was only one other princess, it was Belle! No blondes at all!

When we got into the gift shop at the end, we asked what happened to the three blondes? They told us that Cinderella had to be in the parade, Rapunzel had her hair tangled, and Sleeping Beauty was asleep! I love the stories they tell! We told we were very lucky to find Ariel and Belle inside, too bad we just met them a few hours ago! After a night filled with princesses, we decided it was time for bed, so off to the POFQ bus stop we went.

:)

Thanks for following along! I miss Disney so much already!

It looked like you two had a blast! It gives me such a good feeling in my heart seeing others happy and I'm so glad that you shared a little bit of your vacation with us! Your TR is wonderful and I can't wait to see more!

I love seeing people happy in Disney. That's what that place is all about. Thanks for reading :)

Day 4

Up early, again! Today was a Hollywood Studios day.. even though it will forever be MGM to me.

First up was Toy Story Mania, my best friend didn't get a chance to go on it the last time she was here, so she really wanted to try it! I think this ride is so fun, although my arm always hurts so much after! I guess I get really into shooting! Idk how those strings stay intact, with the way I pull! We ran straight there, grabbed a fastpass and then got right in line. The guy working said they standby would move very quickly since the first fastpass return wasn't until 9:45. This ride has the best queue!

My friend loved it! This is a really fun attraction! She thought it was an upgraded version of Buzz, which it kind of is, but I think they are both unique in their own way. I won, but I think it was because I've ridden before. And my accuracy stinks! I just shoot at anything lol!

We got off and directly across from the ride was a Woody and Buzz meet and greet. We got in line, there are a lot of cute mementos from the movie that you can take your picture with. There was a cute family behind us who kept offering to take pictures for us so that we could be in the photo together. I love when people are so nice! They had two little girls and everything my friend and I did, they had to do next. They were super cute!

I like meeting the characters that can't talk to you a lot better! They don't give me anxiety!! Woody straightened my ears for me, that is what is going on in the first photo. Their meet and greet was themed perfectly for the area. I really wish Pixar Place would have more pixar attractions, but maybe one day. I'd like carsland to eventually come to HS, I know it's rumored! I would love a ride based on UP!, even if it was just a kiddie ride with a house that goes up wit balloons. There are so many good Pixar movies, they need to expand this area! A wall-e ride, the ratatouille ride that Paris is getting.. or even the monsters door coaster that has been discussed for years. Geesh, I need to be an imagineer!!

I'm still loving this!!! :D

Good! Thanks for your feedback! :)

This is great! Makes me realize how many things I've missed while being at the parks :/

There's seriously so many things to do at Disney World, I thought 10 days might be enough to get a lot done.. but you could honestly spend a month there and do a new thing everyday.. it's crazy!

You make me want to try Sanaa! What did you order there? And POFQ is beautiful! It was tough deciding between there and Coronado Springs, but I think we did pretty well! :)

We ordered the bread appetizer which was 3 different kinds of bread and 3 spreads. We chose red pepper hummus, cilantro chutney and mango chutney. SO GOOD!! And then we had the tandoori chicken and rice. It was not spicy at all really. I don't do spicy so this was perfect for me. And while we were eating a giraffe wandered right past the windows as the restaurant looks right over the savannah. I recommend it highly!!

We said our goodbyes to Buzz and Woody and started walking towards the backlot tour. I keep hearing rumors that this attraction is on the chopping block, so I wanted to make sure I got a ride in! I enjoy this ride, but I do this the space could be better utilized. I never rode it when MGM was an actual working studio, but I'm sure at one time the backlot tour was amazing!

On our way, we ran into another friend from Toy Story!

He posed, us.. I love how they can communicate so well without speech! The army men were really fun! A nice girl behind us took our photo, in exchange for us taking hers. I love when people offer to take your photo when they notice it's only two people. I have been getting better at offering when I see people who all can't be together in the photo. This is why I'd really recommend Photopass, it helped us a lot!

The group they chose for the beginning was so funny, the one dad seemed like a big tough guy and when he had to clean that ship, he cleaned that ship! I was cracking up so hard, he really got into his role. When the water was blasting, he was bending down, still cleaning with his towel. I love when the people chosen really ham it up. It was really enjoyable!!

I used to be a really big Hannah Montana fan, I know, I know.. I'm 25 not 15.. but it was awesome to see the house she built in her movie!! I just had to snap some pics! It's the closest I'll ever get to Miley Cyrus! Don't hate!!

My camera is very slow, so that's why some of my pictures are awful! Oh well, nothing compares to memories! Next up in my favorite part, catastrophe canyon! I hope whatever they decide to put back here, they can somehow incorporate this! It's just too cool to knock down :(

The water coming at you is just the best! It's baffles my mind to think how much effort goes into certain scenes in movies! My friend got a little wet, I was more in the middle so it missed me! I remember my first time riding this I kept thinking to myself, "Is this supposed to be happening?!" LOL!!

Checked out the movie memorabilia for awhile after, I love Titanic and Leo so of course I had to photograph the props. That movie never gets old! My friend and I saw Oz when it came out, and I really enjoyed it. I would love if they made an Oz inspired land or attraction. That movie was so amazing visually, it just needs to come to the parks! I loved seeing the intricate costumes, I wish I was an actress and could wear a dress like that! Hey, never stop dreaming! :)

After the backlot tour, we stumbled upon the new monsters meet and greet! I loved monsters university, so meeting mike and sulley was a must! My friend got in line, and I ran and grabbed a chocolate muffin and a bottle of water. I was starving! I had to make my way through Brazil to get food. I just don't get why they sit in massive groups of legit 100 people on the walkways.. I really didn't let the tour groups bother me, I mean we are all there for the same reason, to have a magical vacation. However, the large groups are really intimidating! I got my food and hurried back to line, the area was all done up like a college student union. It was perfect!

They were awesome to meet! I love when the characters initiate the hugs, I feel like a tool sometimes going in for the hug! They both were super sweet, and our photopass photographer captured the hugs. They started dancing with us, it was pretty hysterical. My friend got really into it, they had to yell at Sulley and tell him that we had to go. I loved it!

Continued on our way, and I had to stop for a photo at my favorite mermaid fountain. Anything mermaid, I'm in!

We decided to head to Muppets next! This is another attraction that I think is so cute! I remember watching the muppets show growing up.. and I also remember when Miss Piggy and Kermit the frog did the song "bermuda, bahama, come on pretty mama" sorry I don't know the real name! I used to love that music video! I believe Kermit was wearing a Hawaiian shirt.. Isn't there another video of him and miss piggy wearing leather jackets? Youtube is not being my friend right now!

Tried to see if any of the muppets would be my stuffed animal of choice, but they were pretty stiff and I wanted something mushy. Who knew buying a stuffed animal could be so hard?!
