Trip Report đźŽ¶ Everything is 'going to Disney to get a passholder magnet' Awesome! 🎶

tenor.gif

How this all came about:

And Disney said, “let there be annual passholder magnets, and there were magnets, and it was good.”

Laura said, “I need to get that Donald passholder magnet before June 29, and Sean booked Old Key West, and it was good.”

What does this all mean, you ask? Are @imahistorygeek and @lostpro9het really going to Disney for a magnet?? Why, yes, that’s exactly what we are going to do! Why??

🎶Because Everything* Is Awesome! 🎶

*By awesome, I mean visiting Disney again, getting a magnet, escaping work, eating at new restaurants, and staying at Old Key West!

Here’s our plan:

June 22 – Leave the kid in charge of the cats. Drive to Disney. Check in at OKW. I’ve requested a refurbed area. Eat at Homecomin.
June 23 – Park stuff and eating. I believe tonight’s dinner is Brown Derby. Catch some fireworks.
June 24 – More park stuff and more eating. I think we may have lunch at MK at The Diamond Horseshoe. Dinner is Ale and Compass.
June 25 – Tiny bit park stuff and then going back home.

I was able to do alright on fastpass selections. The only things that I can remember not being available were 7 dwarves and FoP. The other Pandora ride had plenty of FPs available, but I said nah.

It’s a super-short trip. Disney knows how to get us to come back. Offer up some flimsy thing to stick to the fridge.

I’m posting this as a pre-trip report if you want to follow along on IG. This will not be a full-fledged trip report, but just a following along of what we are going to do on a particular day. If you’d like to follow along, my IG username is the same as here. I’ll post pictures of the park, food, drinks, and other stuff, especially the magnet!

If you have any favs at the places I mentioned above for food and drink, please share.

Is it a Dixie cup holder?
If it is, those would have to be the biggest dixie cups ever!

So next we went to cash in our RnR FP. It was the first time we've sat towards the front and had a great ride, though the Disney prudes slapped a border over my Steven Tyler. We still had some time before dinner so we took a leisurely stroll and found ourselves a part of the 3,457th national day parade. We were honored to be part of this historic event.

Finally the time had come, our first ever HBD dinner. Not sure how we’ve gone this long but we wont go that long again. The atmosphere and food were very good and the service was decent. For a sig, though, I saw way to many hats, tshirts, and running shorts. The food, however, was perfect. DW went with a margarita flight and cobb salad with shrimp. I went with the side car and the duck, this was sooo good.

As we exited muppets we saw the most perfect sight...a rainbow connection!! It was fitting and beautiful. We checked the Disney app an saw that TSMM was only 30 minutes which turned out to be only 10! I just edged out my bride again. As we exited the ride to head for our ToT FP we noticed it looks like DVC may be getting a serious upgrade in Toy Story land. We closed out our night with a hotel drop followed by some Star Wars fireworks. We made it out of the park and back to our room im about 20 minutes!!! The coffee pot is set and we’re planning on an AK rope drop tomorrow! Good night folks!

Can anyone tell what this is? It was on the bathroom sink ive honestly got no clue!
It looks like something you'd fit over the roll of toilet paper?

Haven't done HBD. I love my baseball cap and running shorts for summer days, but I don't rock them at any table service, unless in a real pinch. Signatures we've done are Artist Point, Yachtsman, Boathouse, & California Grill. All special occasion dinners. Also every time we've headed back to our room to change before heading there. Some people might have been caught being "time-optimists" aka, "always-late". You're doing your day at DHS and then don't have enough time to get back to your room to change - I wouldn't do a park on a summer day in my nice dinner attire. Do people think, I'm paying $$$, so I'll wear what I want? I think, I'm paying $$$, so I'll make it nice. I'd guess this is a lot less likely at the resort signatures than the ones in the park.

DW was thinking the same thing this morning but I cant get my head around why you would need a special TP holder but then again Im not very classy so maybe this is how classy people do TP.

I think the sig dress code is a twofold issue. 1: WDW has no backbone when it comes to enforcing their own rules. B: people just don't care about being eyesores because they are on vacation and their enjoyment is greater than your enjoyment.

Were at AK now. Saw pretty cool hawk representing on the flag pole as we entered. Magic hours this morning so we’re participating in the FoP 1k. Made great time. Less than 30 minutes from the ToL to exiting James Cameron’s Soarin! Disney is so um fearful of uh litigation that they now force you to um take disclaimer cards.

FoP is a significant height above ground? What's an insignificant height? You get strapped in there pretty tight, I wouldn't worry about falling.

Could Disney get bald eagles to nest around the parks? There are quite a few up the St. John's River. Hawks are impressive, but eagles are another story.

After Flights of Disclaimers we did something we’re not super proud of, we rode Living with the Blacklight. It was less than 10 minutes and we’ve never done it. Sooo much blacklight... We left smurf village and made for EE, we took the bridge that connects to FotLK and saw some neat botany along the way. After EE we hit up the Tiger trail.

I don’t see the required photo of the shaman on NRJ. Without that how do we really know you went on it? 🤔:joyfull:
Yeah...if it hasnt been evident from our last 10 visits to James Cameron’s acid trip, we’re not the biggest fans and don’t really take pictures of this area of the park. Besides, I couldn’t have the other folks on the boat think I was enjoying myself. I will say this, that creepy animatronic was working today with its dead eyes...

Also, :jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop: to FIRST time at FotLK.
Enjoying your trip report, as always! Carry on with the new experiences

Full disclosure, we’re not really LK fans. No one in our household really likes it despite AK being my bride’s favorite park.

So after our lunch we made for the exit. Based on the hoards still coming in, and the line to park, we picked the right time to head out. Never noticed the lantern details before either. We’re getting our pool on now before an afternoon of EC and Compass & Ale for dinner.
