Trip Report 🎶 Everything is 'going to Disney to get a passholder magnet' Awesome! 🎶

How this all came about:

And Disney said, “let there be annual passholder magnets, and there were magnets, and it was good.”

Laura said, “I need to get that Donald passholder magnet before June 29, and Sean booked Old Key West, and it was good.”

What does this all mean, you ask? Are @imahistorygeek and @lostpro9het really going to Disney for a magnet?? Why, yes, that’s exactly what we are going to do! Why??

Because Everything* Is Awesome!

*By awesome, I mean visiting Disney again, getting a magnet, escaping work, eating at new restaurants, and staying at Old Key West!

Here’s our plan:

June 22 – Leave the kid in charge of the cats. Drive to Disney. Check in at OKW. I’ve requested a refurbed area. Eat at Homecomin.
June 23 – Park stuff and eating. I believe tonight’s dinner is Brown Derby. Catch some fireworks.
June 24 – More park stuff and more eating. I think we may have lunch at MK at The Diamond Horseshoe. Dinner is Ale and Compass.
June 25 – Tiny bit park stuff and then going back home.

I was able to do alright on fastpass selections. The only things that I can remember not being available were 7 dwarves and FoP. The other Pandora ride had plenty of FPs available, but I said nah.

It’s a super-short trip. Disney knows how to get us to come back. Offer up some flimsy thing to stick to the fridge.

I’m posting this as a pre-trip report if you want to follow along on IG. This will not be a full-fledged trip report, but just a following along of what we are going to do on a particular day. If you’d like to follow along, my IG username is the same as here. I’ll post pictures of the park, food, drinks, and other stuff, especially the magnet!

So we killed some time meeting M&M before our EE FPs. Check out the rainbow, @MinnieM123 and @bee, its ending at you your favorite home! We’re at NL now chilling out before our safari FPs. Yikes, my face is showing the 16+hours ive been going today!

Whoa! OKW is one we haven’t stayed at yet - and not sure I want to! We will...want to try them all. And if the bed’s comfy, and pool cool - all is right in the world! But....

2 PA breweries works! Love them both. Sly Fox is hometown- we love heading there when we can (frisbee golf, great pizzas, and live music - on top of the beer!).

Homecoming will be added to our list! Looks like a great trip thus far!

Just a comment about your room. I know that clean lines and a minimalist approach to decorating is the "thing" -- but maybe because there weren't many pictures, etc, on walls around the bed area (and rest of the room), just made it look stark in there. Never been to that resort, but not impressed. (On a more positive note, housekeeping did a good job -- no visible dirt, etc. anywhere.)

Whoa! OKW is one we haven’t stayed at yet - and not sure I want to! We will...want to try them all. And if the bed’s comfy, and pool cool - all is right in the world! But....

You haven’t seen any news reports of OKW being burnt to the ground have you ;-) . Thankfully we came back last night to a coffee pot AND a tea kettle.

Just a comment about your room. Oh @MinnieM123 your such a wonderfully positive person! While the room isnt my thing it is mostly clean, very cool(temp), and the beds slept great. I really want to say more positive things about OKW so Ive tried to come up with a list:
Great beds
AC works
Literally 40 steps, or less depending on which parking spot i get, from my car to my door.
The pool is only 30 yards away.
The resort is conveniently located near most parks and DTD.


We’re going to rope drop MK in a few minutes, DW is on a mission for a churro ice cream sandwich.

Oh @MinnieM123 your such a wonderfully positive person! While the room isnt my thing it is mostly clean, very cool(temp), and the beds slept great. I really want to say more positive things about OKW so Ive tried to come up with a list:
Great beds
AC works
Literally 40 steps, or less depending on which parking spot i get, from my car to my door.
The pool is only 30 yards away.
The resort is conveniently located near most parks and DTD.

So we arrived at TTA a little after 7 to learn the express monorail was down so we went for the ferry that just left and finally settled for a walk to the Poly for the resort monorail. Park seems light so far and we’ve gotten a few SM, a buzz, and a PotC in. My apologies for the poor buzz score, there was someone with a ridiculously large head in the car ahead of us obstructing my targets! Then we learned that pirates, in fact, prefer organized auctions to attain their plunder over force and guns! Getting our BTM on before heading towards FL.

So we did BTM and am I the only one that loathes the front cart? IDK, the delay for the rear of the train to catch up before you accelerate is a bit boo. Anyway, got that in and made our way to HM but along the way we saw this gem of rebellion. Dont tell them where they can park their ankle ram! My current tatus is waiting in the Sleepy Hollow queue to get my bride a churro ice cream sandwhich.

Expectation vs reality. This snack is GOOD! You essentially get two churros and two scoops of vanilla ice cream. Each churro patty weighed more than a regular churro too. After our snack we grabbed a gift for the kiddo from the HM gift shop. We’re now waiting on a monorail and heading back for some pool time. Also, some our ride photos came through, looks like the photo prudes missed my Steven Tyler homage, suckers! And, yeah, pirate auctioneering makes me sweat.

Came back to change for the pool and our friend was back! Snacking now pool side but fear not , we’re still hydrating! Gonna chill here until we head to HS later this afternoon, HBD adr tonight for the first time!

Im with ya, I like the color too. Yes, that is the fridge in the closet. Apparently we’re in a handicap accessible room and I guess thats how they roll. I highly endorse the churro sandwich!

So I usually don't get tuna salad anywhere, but today it was calling my name. This was excellent tuna salad. This is my 2nd fav poolside meal. The first is the falafel from the mara.

Getting our HS on now before our HBD adr. Poor C3PO was just hunkered over like this the entire time despite his audio track looping...poor C3PO. We’re currently at BLTH getting our appetizer on before RnR.

Making our way to our RnR FP now after a hilarious Jedi training session. If you’ve never stopped to enjoy, recommend it. Echo lake was full of cuteness today too. We stopped for a few minutes to learn that A Galaxy far, far, away has no respect for timelines. Along the way to RnR we bumped into some friends who were actually familiar with Dahlonega, GA! Go figure.
