glad we got to see the bug show on our recent trip in december. wasn’t a must do every year but we always got a kick out of it. my wife enjoyed the termitenator. we both liked the audiences reaction at the end of the show with the bugs leaving. for us, it’ll be missed.

We are meant to believe we are really in the world’s thicc-est tree instead of being shrunk down? Let’s hope they take the time to fix the queue that progressively makes us seem smaller.

Bro, it takes place inside of a tree.

The concept art doesn't make it look like we're in the confines of a single room.

In MV3D, the action on the screen didn't take place on a single stage in a single auditorium.

The conceit of ITTBAB of shrinking us down doesn't have to be followed by a replacement attraction.

That would make sense if it were any old theater. Not one where you can literally look up and see the inside of the tree trunk.

... A tree trunk that is 50ft in diameter from the outside too. Without the bug animatronics for relative scale, you can just assume everything within is at actual scale because it already looks incredibly large. It works as a theater under the roots either way.

It’s gonna be hard for the Muppet Vision replacement to live up to that show. It’s time has come though. Excited for the door coaster, big Monsters fan.

Muppets getting Aerosmith softens the blow for me despite never riding.
I don't think it will be too difficult to create something more popular and exciting that MV3D. Laugh Floor moving over would be a slight upgrade from MV3D.

What? You mean these giant tree carvings of different animals aren't a usual natural occurence and this is a magic tree with a projection show of the various animals waking up??? WHERE IS MY IMMERSION???

But that was a problem with MV3D. The fact that we weren't looking at something live happening in front of us made it feel like a 90's 3D film. ITTBAB, HISTA, and the 2nd half of T2 are what made those experiences work. The ability to have that line blurred between screen and reality. I don't want to see a random Zootopia short with things flying off the screen. I want to be in the same room as the characters and have their actions cause things to fly at me and interact with me.

The in-theatre effects were great. But the film itself didn't sell that conceit. The penguins, Statler and Waldorf, the Swedish Chef; these are the obvious highlights from the attraction. The film itself....not so much. Seeing some scene of Miss Piggy singing somewhere else isn't immersive, even if they have a random butterfly coming out of the pre-taped scene for some reason.

What’s the canonical explanation for a journey of communication inside a giant golf ball?
That’s not really the same thing. We’re talking about perceived scale of the exterior versus perceived scale inside the attraction when that’s supposed to be an important, immersive part of the narrative. For instance, does the Haunted Mansion interior feel like it might be able to feasibly exist within the shown exterior, obvious supernatural elements like the Escher stairs notwithstanding? For Spaceship Earth, there’s a more intentional disconnect between the exterior and the ride experience.

Kali river rapids is down until "March", if it doesn't make March 18th, AK LLMP will consist of:
  • Navi River Journey
  • Dinosaur
  • Everest
  • Kilimanjaro Safaris
  • Feathered Friends in Flight
  • Festival of the Lion King
  • Finding Nemo
Only 4 continuously running attractions... They really need to put M&Gs back on there at least for AK

That is rough, especially since my primary reasons for visiting DAK are/were Flight of Passage, Tough To Be a Bug, and Kilimanjaro Safaris. Not sure if the Safari alone is worth the price of admission.

Oh I know I was doing a bit. But I do think the scaling of ITTBAB/Tree of Life is lost on just about everyone considering how big the tree actually is.

The SSE building isn't part of the SSE show. You're not in a sphere, the vehicle you board transports you to each scene of the attraction. The Tree of Life is part of the Tough to be a Bug show and canonically takes place inside it. I know you are just trolling but it is apples to oranges.
