Dinosaurs were always going to be part of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

The park’s initial build out was significantly scaled back. Beastlie Kingdom was cut. Tiger River Run was reduced and delayed. And about half of Dinoland USA was cut. Since it was further along it wasn’t hit in the same way as Disney’s California Adventure and Walt Disney Studios Park.

Chester and Hester’s Dino-Rama is not original to the park. It is an addition, one intended to be a cheap way of adding some capacity to the park.
Interesting backstory, thank you. Do you know if the inclusion of dinosaurs was Imagineer driven or exec driven?

The concepts of Dinoland look more like an excavation site with the Excavator coaster in the spot where DinoRama stands..

And the vast majority of guests (and locals) don't really care about the exterior as much as others are insinuating in this thread.
To this point, the original DCA tower also stood out as a bit of an eyesore. It's a 200 foot high building that aesthetically doesn't really fit anywhere in that park.

DCA's Tower was a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine, but it was far from sacred. WDW's Tower is absolutely sacred.

Basically, it took them 20 years to build what should have been done opening day.

Really? I never got to ride the Disneyland Tower of Terror. But I rode Mission Breakout and didn’t think it came anywhere close to WDW Tower. What was so bad about California’s version that Guardians was considered an upgrade?
It takes you to the hallway Midway up to see the ghosts like DHS. However, after that it takes you to the top of the tower and you see your reflection in a mirror being sucked into the 5th Dimension and fall and the the elevator falls rather than going into the physical 5th Diemension like DHS has..

Rohde’s DCA tower design is one of the ugliest permanent monstrosities ever created in any theme park in the world.

The fact it ruins the view of two parks is an extra sin.
He was asked to redesign an existing building with a limited budget and limited time. He created a story that works thematically and an aesthetic that makes sense for that theme. He isn't the one that messed up the sightlines in that park. Honestly, it's the most interesting building in Avengers campus.

He also opened Pandora the same weekend.

Winter begins at the end of December. I took "Winter 2025" as either this coming January, February, or early March. So the bugs would be getting squashed real soon.

Disney Parks FB Post specifically says "Next Winter" not "This Winter" so 16 months from now. Bug may last through Spring Break, but I wouldn't expect much more
