“Is there anything in my teeth?” “God I’m so full!!!” The Trip Report from 06/23-07/6

Ok so here it is. The moment I know you all have been waiting for…..MY TRIP REPORT!!! Haha, ok so probably you aren’t losing sleep over waiting for this one but I am excited writing. This is my first one so bear with me. I took well over 500 pictures which is a lot but not a whole lot. I didn’t follow my exact itinerary as posted in my pre-trip report, and I forgot to take a lot of pics of food, but I think I did ok!

So a little background if you didn’t read my pre-trip report which is linked here:
http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=435999

My DH and myself decided to take our niece to Disney World as her gift for graduating high school. It was a plan in the making since we went on our honeymoon in Disney in 2007. We stayed at POP Century from 06/23-07/06, which I have to say I absolutely loved the hotel. I would never stay at another All Star and would pick POP over them anyday. I will say this though, I will NEVER go back to Disney again for that time of year. The crowds were so good until around July and then it got crazy.

We live in Folsom, PA right outside of Philly. My name is Courtney (25), my DH is Mike (23) and DN is Chynna (17). Here we are at Chynna's graduation:

DSCI0011.jpg

So I guess that’s all you really need to know before I start. Some of the pics you will see will not have Mike in them with the characters. This is because he was taking the pictures! So he claims he was not on vacation because you can’t see him anywhere! So here we go!!!!

Tuesday 06/23/2009 DEPARTURE DAY!!!!

I can’t believe it’s finally here. It felt like it was going to take forever until this day got to us. Me and Chynna had been talking about this trip and counting down for so long and it was finally here. We had set out alarm for 4:30am but I was so excited I started poking Mike at about 4:15 to get up. That night before me and Chynna both took Tylenol PMs so we could get to sleep. Well Chynna took hers at like 6pm and was asleep on the sofa by 8pm. So me and Mike decided to just head to bed early. So anyway, we got up and I had to call my dad to get him up. Well he wasn’t supposed to come over to get us until 4:45. I think he got to us by 4:30 and we were ready to go.

Just a side note, I was devastated leaving my two dogs, Chase and Mocha at home. The looks they gave us when we left was just heart-breaking I could have cried. But my dad was taking care of them so I knew they would be in good hands.

So anyway, we were off to the airport by 4:45am. We made a stop at Wawa for my dad to get himself some coffee so he could wake up. Well Philadelphia airport is only 10 minutes away from our house, right off of I-95, so we were there by 5am! We checked our bags at the curbside checkin with Southwest. The man that took of us was so polite which was a shock for the Philly airport. We got inside and got right in the line for security. We get through and of course my bags go through and I see some woman waving my purse around asking whose handbag it was. I came forward and she asked me to open it. Well looks like I forgot to take out my lotion that I use in the tanning salon and it was too much liquid to carry on. No biggie, it was only a 8 dollar bottle from Walmart so I told her to trash it.

So by the time we got to our gate it was only 5:30am and our flight didn’t leave until 7:05am. We went to get some breakfast. I got a cappuccino and a crumb cake for myself and an iced coffee for Mike which cost $8 something. Chynna got a iced chai latte and a yogurt parfait which cost her $8 something and Mike got a sandwich from Burger King which was $4 I think. And this is where part of my trip report title comes in. we are done eating and just sitting and talking and Chynna asks “Do I have anything in my teeth?” let’s just say after everything we ate for the two weeks we were there, she asked this same question!!!! It drove us nuts by the end of vacation. Oh and let’s not forget 6am came around and what did I announce? “It’s time to take our Bufferin!” Let me explain…my mom is a bit nervine when it comes to getting blood clots on planes from sitting too long, so one hour before any flight she reminds us all to take our Bufferin, so of course my dad brought it over to us when he picked us up that morning! Here we are sitting and waiting at the airport:

DSCI0018.jpg

DSCI0019.jpg

Southwest finally started boarding the plane and even though we were boarding group B, we still all got seats together. Chynna was in the middle. Now keep in mind, she has not flown a plane since she was about 3 so she remembers nothing and was a nervous wreck just getting on. Well our flight attendants were hysterical. They were singing the mickey mouse club ending song (“M I C, see ya real soon, K E Y, why because we like you”)and getting the kids all excited that they were going to Disney. When the plane finally started to take off, Chynna got VERY nervous. Every little noise the plane made and every movement, she would freak out. When we started to accelerate and go down the runway, she grabbed my hand and by the time we were up in the air I had white marks on my hand from her squeezing so hard!!! The plane ride was very smooth, hardly any turbulence which was nice. We got the usual airplane cinnamon graham cracker cookies and a bag of pretzels and our drinks. Next thing you know the plane is landing and it was only 09:10. we were supposed to land at 9:35!!! So we were again ahead of ourselves which also seemed to be another theme of this trip. We walked down to the Magical Express counter and there was not one person in line anywhere. Usually you still have to go to counter and check in and give them your magical express passes. But not this time! There was a CM standing there waving her Mickey hand and told us to proceed down the red carpet to the next CM. We did so and she checked us in and told us to proceed to the POP line. We got there so fast I didn’t have a chance to take a picture of it. Next thing we know, the CM at the head of the line opened the line and led us to our bus!!! No way was this happening to us! We thought this was a very good sign!

So we hop on the bus and were told that POP is the first stop! Yet even more good news! And off we go!!!! This is us on the bus ride there...

DSCI0020.jpg

By this point I was jumping out of my skin and I was waiting to see the video that they show on your way there. Well guess what?! They NEVER showed it. I was bit upset about this because Chynna had never seen it. But whatever I wasn’t going to let that ruin my good day so far. And we're home!!!!

DSCI0021.jpg

So we then arrived at POP. These are just some pics i took while we were looking around.

DSCI0022.jpg

DSCI0023.jpg

DSCI0024.jpg

Oh and let me just mention it was very hot in FL. It was extremely humid. Just to mention we were checked in at POP by 10:15!!! And let me just tell you, the CM that checked us in was HORRIBLE and NASTY! First of all she could hardly speak English and I couldn’t understand her but she was very rude also. She informed us that our room was not ready and gave us a card with a number to call to check. She gave us our package that was waiting and never gave us pins. So I asked her for one and her response was “Well what do you need that for?” I told her that we put on our reservation we were here for Chynna’s graduation. She looked at me, smiled, and said “Oh Congratulations”. After I was done checking in, I realized that she never asked me to pay for the refrigerator we had on our reservation and I also noticed that inside of our packet were “Celebrate” pins anyway! I ended up going back up a few minutes later and got another CM and she took care of writing on Chynna’s pin what we were there for plus letting me pay for the fridge.

So since we were at the hotel so early and our lunch reservations were not until 2pm, we had no idea what to do. We decided to just head to the POP food court and get a snack to eat because we hadn’t eaten since like 6 that morning. This was us sitting in the food court. Lovely pics of us right?!

DSCI0025.jpg

DSCI0026.jpg

So we went and got our 3 free mugs that were included with the Deluxe Dining Plan and I got a bag of chips, Mike got a chocolate cake, and Chynna got celery and carrots with dip. The mugs would have cost us $41.51 and the snacks would have been $10.30. (just so you know we kept track of what everything cost so that we would see if the DxDP paid off.)

I'm going to finish up here for now, until I get more pics loaded up on photobucket because they are taking forever. But i will continue soon!!

It seems like the DDP is working for your trip, can;t wait to see the total OOP cost vs the plan cost to get a real life idea of what you save.

It's great to hear from you. It's been a super report. Hope everything is going well with the bridal party / Chynna's school / weekend anniversary trip. We'll hang in there waiting for more updates! I've been putting off my report, too, so don't feel so bad. Best of luck with everything!

Sunday June 28th Magic Kingdom!

June 28th Sunday MAGIC KINGDOM!!!

So today was the best day of the trip as far as I was concerned. This is my favorite place in all of Disney world. Plus I think I am kinda biased since I got engaged there! So we had to get up pretty early again, which Mike and Chynna were not too thrilled about, but oh well, they had to deal! We were up by 6:45 and off to wait for the bus. We got to the park and got in the line for the early breakfast. Our reservations were for 8:05am. We took some pics in the park early when nobody was around. I’m telling you, every time I walk in that park and see the castle, I just get chills and tear up.

DSCI0412.jpg

DSCI0414.jpg

So anyway, we got down to the castle and got in line for our reservations. We were the second group to get inside which was nice. I get this picture every time we go there because I just think its adorable…

DSCI0416.jpg

We got in line for our picture with Cinderella, which I know I am a dork, but I just get a huge smile when I see her. The picture from that morning was hysterical. I wish I had it on the computer. But Mike’s face was priceless. His eyes were half shut and he looked either exhausted or hungover. It was a perfect picture to explain the mood those two were in being awake so early.

We got upstairs and got to our table. We were a little worried that they had forgotten about our swords and wands but they didn’t! Mike and I both got the regular breakfast and Chynna got the healthy one. It was very good as usual. The regular breakfast consists of sausage, bacon, eggs, potatoes, and cream cheese stuffed French toast with blueberries on top, which Mike got more of. You also get orange juice, coffee, pastries, and fruit.

DSCI0417.jpg

DSCI0418.jpg

That morning we were all looking forward to that cup of coffee. So we ate and then the princesses started to come out.

There was Snow White….
DSCI0419.jpg

Aurora….
DSCI0420.jpg

Jasmine….which I hated because she was a twig and me and Chynna look huge next to her…
DSCI0421.jpg

Belle…
DSCI0422.jpg

We ate and had our magic time, I was a bit disappointed that they didn’t do anything for Chynna, but that was ok. The total OOP cost would have been $141.68, tip was included here, but on the DDP, it costs 2 credits per person. So then we headed back down to find that yes indeedy…ROPE DROP MAGIC KINGDOM 2009, dum, dum, dum!!!! Haha so yes we made yet another rope drop. We were squeezed into the castle area waiting. Then to our surprise, the Fairy Godmother came walking by greeting all of her guests. It seems that she helps with rope drop at the castle. And I still swear that she looks just like Paula Deen. So the rope went down and off we went into Fantasyland. We got done Small World, Phillharmagic, Peter Pan, Snow White, Winnie all by 9:30am. Today we were also trying to do some hidden mickeys, to find that none of us had that much patience to really do it right.

DSCI0430.jpg

DSCI0431.jpg

DSCI0432.jpg

we then headed over to the Haunted Mansion. No matter how many times I ride this ride, I just love it!

DSCI0433.jpg

DSCI0434.jpg
I never noticed the red flower on there before, and when we went back on the ride on the fourth of July, it was gone. Thought that was interesting.

DSCI0435.jpg

then we headed over to Splash Mountain and did that. That was fun. We stuck Chynna in the front and she got soaked, but the only time I got wet was at one point something came shooting out across and really got me! They tried to go and do Big Thunder Railroad but
it was shut down for some reason so they got a fastpass which we could use after lunch. Then we went over to Pirates and found these guys along the way. As you can see, I’m kind of wet. And let me just say, Peter Pan is WEIRD! He was making cat sounds at these girls in front of us, it was just really odd.

DSCI0436.jpg

DSCI0437.jpg

the rest of the day was kind of a blur. It was VERY hot that day and Chynna was getting very dehydrated. It was so bad that she was in the bathroom a lot, not throwing up, so you know what I mean. So on that day, we bought 9 waters total, OOP cost was $32.25, but it was 9 snack credits. Later in the day, she finally got better, the more water she drank, the better she felt. Then she was peeing the rest of the day!

We skipped Jungle Cruise and decided to do it when we came back. So then it was time to head over to lunch at Liberty Tree. It was nice to finally go freshen up and sit in the AC. For drinks, I just got a Perrier and Mike and Chynna got the Orange thing.

for appetizers, which I forgot to take pics of, Mike got the Tavern cheese, and me and Chynna shared the spinach dip which was very good.

for lunch, I got the chicken salad….
DSCI0439.jpg

in my opinion, it was kind of gross. I should have just stuck to the Pilgrim’s Feast, which I always get.

Mike got the tri-corner sandwich….
DSCI0441.jpg
which he liked.

Chynna got the William Penn Pasta which she liked but said it was nothing special..

DSCI0440.jpg

for dessert, me and Mike both got the ooey gooey toffee cake, which I must say was unbelievable. It was like a warm melted huge chocolate chip cookie, with toffee on top and vanilla ice cream…WOW

DSCI0443.jpg

chynna got the caramel apple tart which she loved also

DSCI0442.jpg

OOP cost would have been $93.22 plus tip, but it was 3 credits total.

So then we went walking around and went in the Christmas shop where I got a flag that is blue and white and silver that has the castle and lights up that I can hang outside. I was very excited about this. All of my Christmas decorations are icy blue, white, and silver and are mainly Disney things. Then we headed back to Frontierland. They got on the Big Thunder while I waited and talked to my mom on the phone. We then headed over to Toon Town and looked around. We wanted to see the Pixies but it was like an hour wait, so we skipped that and walked around the tent shop. We went into Mickey’s house and took some pics…

DSCI0445.jpg

DSCI0446.jpg

DSCI0450.jpg

DSCI0451.jpg

we attempted to go into Minnie’s house but I think she forgot to pay her electric bill because it was like a sauna in there so we walked back out. Then we went to Tomorrowland. Now Mike and Chynna were very upset that Space Mountain was closed. I was upset that the Transit Authority was because this is where I usually go when he is on Space. Plus I just love the ride because it is so relaxing and cool. I sit and ride it over and over. But oh well. We went onto the Carousel of Progress, which I love and Mike hates, but Chynna was never on it. After that, we went to Buzz and got a fastpass and then went on Stitch. I think that ride is stupid but Chynna never did it, so we did. Then we went back to Main Street and went shopping. Mike bought me a ring that has tiny diamonds and mickey heads on it. Its really pretty. We took our time because our reservations at the Crystal Palace weren’t until 6. we caught the 5 oclock flag thing at City Hall, which was really cool and gave you chills just watching it. Then we decided to head over to Crystal, to just sit and wait. We caught some of the new parade from afar and were jamming to the music.

We finally checked in around 5:45. it was packed! Then we waited, and waited, and waited. We didn’t get called back until 6:30, which did not please Mike at all. We got to our table and they had streamers all over it for Chynna’s graduation. Now tonight was supposed to be the cake I ordered for her. It was even on the slip, so I made sure she didn’t see that, and I also made sure me and Mike didn’t eat too many desserts. The food here is always good. Just your typical buffet, but I prefer their breakfast more. At one point we were up getting food, and all of a sudden chynna jumped. Tigger had come up behind her and stood with his nose directly in front of her when she turned around. She started laughing, so he was laughing too. He then started mimicking everything she did. It was so cute. So we got pictures with the following…

Tigger…
DSCI0452.jpg

Eeyore then came over all sad and came right up to me and gave me a huge hug. I was so thrilled because next to Cinderella and Chip and Dale, he is one of my favs!

DSCI0453.jpg

then Piglet…

DSCI0455.jpg

then Pooh. Now Pooh was interesting. We were seated right next to the window and the people outside kept on pressing their faces against the window while we were eating. Which Mike found really funny because he was doing it right back to them. It was hysterical. But Pooh noticed they were doing it. So he went up to the emergency exit door, which was right behind our table, and pressed his face against it. He then was acting like he was stuck and couldn’t get out the door. Then there was music on, so he started dancing, and we were saying out loud just to each other, “Look at Pooh shake his booty” he must have heard us because he started dancing and shaking his butt all over. It was so funny. Then he came over to the table and signed Chynna’s book and when he signed it, he pointed to his name. I said “Yes Pooh, that’s you!” he kept on pointing at it and this went on for like 5 minutes. Then before he left, he took our Key to the World card and tried to eat it. I said “Pooh, that’s not food” he giggled and walked away.

DSCI0454.jpg

so now we’re waiting and waiting for this cake. I didn’t want to say anything to the waitress because it would have given it away. Now the slip said that the cake was to say “Congratulations Chynna!”. Well she brought us our check and never brought the cake. So then I said to Chynna that I was sorry. So in the kitchen was a cake for her that the stupid waitress never brought out. She was really bad too with drinks and everything. So I was very disappointed with that, but it saved me $30 so whatever. This meal OOP would have been $111.80 plus tip but it was 3 credits.

So then we headed up to our favorite spot on top of the train station to just sit and relax and position ourselves for the parade and the fireworks. Well it was packed at like 7:30. there were no seats whatsoever. So we stood there for a while and waited. After waiting for a while, we decided since we already saw Wishes from Narcoosee’s that we would just skip it. And Spectromagic was not being held that night so we just went home and beat the crowd.

finally sort of finishing it!

im so sorry for just getting to this now. i know i know, its been almost 3 years but alot has happened. i got pregnant in 2010, went on a family trip in november 2010, then had my baby in march 2011, and its just been nuts. so i am going to add the rest of my pictures and try to remember what happened! i hope you all will still follow and like i said i have another trip report from 2010 and i started a pretrip report for this september!

so the last i ended was June 29th, this was Hollywood Studios day.

this was the line when we got in, to continue our great timing for rope drop, we had to be there bright and early of course.

DSCI0461.jpg

our first mission was to get to toy story mania because we had never been on it before and we wanted to get a fastpass. well we spotted this guy who was wearing a steelers jersey. he was huge, not fat, just very very tall and built. so we planned out a mission, we were going to stick chynna behind him cuz shes so short and she was going to follow him cuz he looked like he had a mission too. it was like the beginning of a marathon where everyone is geared up to go. well he overheard us talking and turned around and laughed so we knew we had a plan. all of a sudden, the rope came down and off went the herd. it was hysterical, me and mike could barely walk because we were peeing ourselves. all you see is this like 7 foot guy with his backpack and chynna was practically up his butt making their way through the crowds. we were in the background singing the rocky theme song and yelling "go chynna go! follow that guy" she ended up being like second in line behind him!

now that was done, we headed off to starring rolls cafe for breakfast. here are some pics of the food. sorry i dont know the whole money and OOP thing anymore so youll just have to deal with the pics!

DSCI0464.jpg

DSCI0465.jpg

here are some pics i took along the way of walking throughout the day.

DSCI0463.jpg

DSCI0466.jpg

we did a whole bunch of stuff that day: the great movie ride, ariel show, we did go to indiana jones but it started to storm so it was postponed and we never went back. anyway how many times can you see that same old show! chynna was telling us that her dad is so funny with it. every time he sees it, he still acts baffled that the guy they pick is from the audience. hes a goof! um they did tower of terror and rock n rollercoaster god only knows how many times. i know they were getting right on especially doing the single rider. we then had lunch at 50s prime time cafe. well i forget the waiters name but he was cousin somebody or another. he was pretty funny. he kept on yelling at chynna cuz her elbows were on the table and she sits with her leg tucked under her and he told her to keep her feet on the ground. well he finally got fed up and put her in time out with her face against the wall.

all in all this was a good day. i have to say that the fantasmic package really gets you some pretty crappy seats at the show. you are off to the side and of course our screen was broken so we couldnt see a lot. there were also really obnoxiuos people sitting behind us so that didnt help any either. but that was the end of the day here. tomorrow is blizzard beach and spirit of aloha!

June 30th Typhoon Lagoon

i forgot from the last post that we had switched our water park days. today was actually typhoon lagoon. it was a pretty nasty day out, it rained on and off and we ended up leaving pretty early after they had their good ole time in the wave pool. that thing is strong too! i was standing pretty far back and i was even getting knocked over. here are a few pics i snapped while i was sitting there...

DSCI0519.jpg

DSCI0520.jpg

DSCI0521.jpg

i think for breakfast and lunch we ended up just eating at pop because i know we didnt go to the grand floridian cafe and i do remember getting back to the resort because of the rain. but that was ok because tonight was spirit of aloha! i had never been so we were really excited and chynna was only there when she was really little. so we selected the category 2 for it and surprisingly we had awesome seats! we ended up sitting right in the middle but the raised level so we had a perfect view of everything. here are some pics. by the way they have some of the best food on the resort! plus the guys that perform are so good especially the fire dude! and man are they built! woohoo!!!:ROFLOL:

i actually want to add this in, i think at some point we must have hit kona cafe. i had never been at that point and had read such great reviews so i think we probably just walked in. and thank god we did because it is now our fav restaurant for breakfast! and the kona press pot!!!! dear mother of god that coffee is to die for. im a cream and sugar kinda gal but you dont need ANYTHING in that coffee thats how good it is. and dont get me started on the tonga toast!

DSCI0517.jpg

while we ate there this was this family from either pa or nj that sat next to us. they had just gotten in the night before and it was like a family of 15 or something. well we love to people watch and eavesdrop so we were listening to them. they came into their trip with NO dining reservations and they had not a clue about the dining plan in general. mike and chynna kept on making fun of me saying i should go give them instructions. i seriously was having a panic attack listening to them because they had NO CLUE about anything. it was making me very nervous. but anyway back to spirit of aloha!
