Trip Report “Excuse me ma’am, can you put your phone away? Snow White doesn’t like apples” March 2019 *COMPLETED*

Sadly, I’ve been back in the real world for 4 days, but I’m glad to say that it was a great trip! Different, but still great. Surprisingly, the Disney depression is not very high (not sure if that’s a good thing :hilarious:), but I don’t want to take any risks, so let’s get this TR started!

For those of you who are just joining, I’d like to say welcome and feel free to read my PTR for background info.

Before I start, I want to warn everyone that I only have a month left before the semester is over. :joyfull: With that being said, the next 4 weeks might get extremely busy and I may not have a lot of time to post, so please bear with me. I don’t want to drag this TR out like I did with the last one, but I make no promises. :hilarious:

"Yuck! They should probably do something about this."

YIKES!!!! I can't believe it would get THAT bad - it's out in the open - I get that it's humid, but wow...

And congrats on the ice cream cookie score!

After FoP, I stopped in Windtraders to pick up a pin. I thought about carrying it with me, but I decided to have it delivered to Music.

I encountered the Utility Suit outside of Satu’li.

Pretty cool! Glad I got to see it.

L and I were gonna meet back up in Africa, so I headed in that direction, via the walkway from Pandora.

This was my first time taking this walkway. There wasn’t a lot of traffic, which made it peaceful.

I met L near Tuskers. It was approaching 6:30 and she wanted to see if the gorillas were out 1 more time before they closed the trail for the night, so back to Gorilla Falls we went.

There were 2 other young gorillas that were ganging up on this guy.

He’d had enough of their nonsense, and next thing we knew, branches, rocks, and dirt were being hurled.

It was sure an entertaining sight.

It was soon dinner time and I was hungry, so Flame Tree was up next. I had already mobile ordered (1st time) earlier.

Baked Macaroni and Cheese with Pulled Pork.

I was kind of disappointed in this. It was slightly better than meh, but not by much. I’m not a big fan of the coleslaw at Flame Tree, so I think that’s what turned me off. I should’ve gotten the pulled pork fries. :hilarious:

I also wasn’t real impressed with mobile order. There were only 3 or 4 people ahead of me, but I had to wait forever. People who showed up well after I arrived were getting their food before me, which was aggravating. :banghead:

L had went ahead and grabbed a table by the water. (she didn’t get anything)

Luckily we avoided the asteroid and made it back to the present day safely.

Earlier when I was in line for FoP, L was able to score an Everest FP for the both of us, so we made our way towards Asia.

My name showed up on the screen! :joyfull:

I swear I try my hardest to not look at the camera on Everest. :hilarious:

As soon as we got off, we jumped in the single rider line.

Ok y’all, the guy next to me was actually on the phone! (not kidding) Someone called him as we were going up the main lift. They talked for the rest of the ride!

It was 8:30 when we got off. L stayed at EE to ride a couple more times. I headed to Pandora to end the night.

Right as my group was about to board, a CM came in the 2nd briefing room to inform the CM that was already in there that a “serious issue had occurred”. Long story short, 2 people on the previous flight got sick and yacked everywhere. A custodial worker was immediately called in. He assessed the situation, started to laugh, and said that he wasn’t cleaning that up and walked away. :hilarious:

So, they went ahead and let us in and marked off the 2 ride vehicles that were “down”. Obviously the people who were assigned to these vehicles couldn’t ride. Luckily, I was nowhere near the ones that were “down”.

I just can’t explain how much I love FoP, so I’m not going to :hilarious:, but needless to say that my flight was awesome! So glad I got to ride it 3 times!

L had already left and was back at Music when I got off. It was after 10, so I began to head back to Discovery Island. I stopped in Island Mercantile and bought a couple of the AK themed reusable shopping bags before making my way towards the bus stop.

Leaving AK

I told AK goodbye and headed out.

I had to wait for a bus, but it wasn’t terribly long. I got back to Music just before 11 and stopped in Intermission food court to get something to drink. I was also gonna get a bowl of the chocolate chip cookie dough but they were out. :(

L was still up when I got back to the room. Since she didn’t get any dinner at AK, she also stopped at the food court and got baked chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. She said that everything was really good.

I got ready for bed and didn’t stay up very late. I was tired, but it had been a solid day 2.

My destination was the Yorkshire County Fish Shop, somewhere I hadn’t eaten in 3 or 4 trips. (used to be a regular) At the beginning of March, they added a new item to the menu and I couldn’t wait to try it.

Chicken and Mushroom Pie (with chips)
View attachment 362769
Ok y’all, this thing was sooo freaking good!

This was another item that AJ from DFB had been hyping up, and for good reason. The picture doesn’t do it justice, but this thing was huge and stuffed full of chicken, mushrooms, gravy, and flavor! It also came with a lot of chips. (almost couldn’t finish them all) This addition is exactly what a lacking YCFS needed! For the price and the amount of food you get, it’s definitely a better deal than the fish ‘n’ chips. Hope it’s permanent!

I grabbed a nearby table and told L where I was. She arrived a few minutes later with her croissant sandwich from Les Halles. I can’t remember which kind she had, but she said it was good.

After we ate, we strolled through the U.K. pavilion before getting our spot for IllumiNations.
View attachment 362770View attachment 362771View attachment 362772

The viewing area on the island between the U.K. and France that’s usually roped off for FP and dinner/dessert parties was vacant!

View attachment 362773
We had the perfect spot!

View attachment 362774View attachment 362775

The area slowly began to fill up as people realized there was nobody over here, but it wasn’t a large crowd.

It looks like the tree behind the torch is on fire. :hilarious:

It was still 30mins until showtime, but the pre-show music was setting the tone and I was getting excited.

Next up: IllumiNations overload!
That is the perfect spot for Illuminations! Of course it not always being opened as there are dessert parties in the way. >:-{ (I shouldn't complain, I had a dessert party there It's why its my favorite spot.)

Y’all, I have some terrible news. l had already typed the previous post yesterday and was going to post it, but something tragic and unexpected happened. I’m fighting back what tears I have left as I type this. It is with a broken heart to inform y’all that Maggie past away yesterday afternoon. It was exactly one month until her 14th birthday.

She died peacefully in her sleep somewhere between 3 and 4pm. After talking with the vet, we determined that she had a blood clot. All of this came as a shock. Her surgery had gone well and she was doing great and acting like her normal self. Even the vet said that when they were checking her vitals and running tests before and after the surgery, that everything looked fantastic and there wasn’t anything noticeable that made them think a clot was forming.

Just like with fatal clots in humans, it happened instantly and there was nothing that we or anyone else could have done. The bright side (if there is one) of the quickness of blood clots is that there isn’t any pain/suffering.

It turned out that one of the tumors they’d removed wasn’t benign, but cancerous. It’s possible that the clot could’ve been caused by that, but the vet said he didn’t think that was the case because it was still in an early stage. I’d much rather this happen the way it did than to watch her suffer through cancer. That’s how our last dog (another dachshund) died and it was tough.

My heart is literally broken. I do not think I can physically cry anymore. Maggie was my baby girl and my best friend. We got her in 2005 when she about a month or so old and we were inseparable since.
So sorry to hear. Sounds like she was a loved, warm and well cared for pet for her entire life. She's sitting at the Rainbow Bridge waiting for you once day.
My first dog died of cancer in her liver. Cancer isn't a good way for a loved one to go. (pet or human) She got to be home in familiar territory for her last days with loved ones.

Tuesday March 19th: Back to EPCOT

If I remember correctly, I woke up around 7:15ish. L was still gonna rope drop, but decided to sleep in and leave around 8. It didn’t take me long to get ready and I was off to the bus stop.

After Frozen, we looked at the prints that Larry had for sell. He wasn’t there yet but would be later. We picked out the ones we wanted to get but would come back when Larry was there so he could sign them.

I was ready for some breakfast, so Kringla Bakeri was up next. (hadn’t been there in 10 years)

We sat down for a little bit then headed back to Future World.
