Fa la la la la

But let’s be honest.
Which season isn’t the season for more Disney?
In 2017 I have been fortunate to experience winter, spring and summer in the world.
And now the holidays!
Since December is such a festive time of year at the parks, I think two trips are in order....don’t you?

Trip #1
Cast:
Tuvalu and Em
When: December 1-4, 2017
Where: Port Orleans Riverside

Join us as we attend our first MVMCP, wander around World Showcase like a couple of newbies, meet a forum friend and intentionally watch LOTS of fireworks....did we get to Illuminations this year?

You’ll have to wait and see.

Thanks to all the “Team Chair” investigators on the hunt for Gaston’s missing throne!
@krause, @MeeskaMooska0714, @riverside, @prfctlyximprct, @becca, @krisri18
We’re depending on you!

It was GIGANTIC.

I have seen HEA many times now and the ending is ALWAYS spectacular!
P.S. I like your user name :cat: No need for a change....(unless you want Dryer Lint Lover or something to that effect!)

Have a fantastic time!!

I like it but.... I didn't know Disney bounding was a thing until after I chose it (and certainly couldn't have predicted so much animosity centering on Disney bounding!!!) .... and I put the year I was going to Disney on it because I didn't think I'd want to stick around after our trip (I was wrong) or want to plan another trip (wrong again).

Sunday, December 3

I was jolted awake by a car alarm very early (@figmentfan423 early!) in the morning. I counted 18 honks before it was silenced. Returning to sleep was impossible, so I quietly read as not to disturb Em. A couple hours later she was up and we were ready to head to breakfast.

Doesn’t it suck to open your door and find your eviction notice? (@DisneyJeff 😉)

I cast it aside and we took a lovely stroll over to Riverside Mill.

We opted for our usual fiber-and-vitamin-fortified double chocolate muffins.

The place was busy.

This was my view. A pretty wreath.....

....and a beautiful daughter.

We arrived at Epcot about 20 minutes prior to park opening. Lines to enter were quite long.

But not for Passholders.

Guests were being held in front of Spaceship Earth for rope drop.

A couple minutes later the Jammitors arrived to entertain us. It made the wait pass quickly. It also gave Em and me time to formulate our plan....we were about to try something we had never done before....and something we would never be able to do if Woody were with us.

Stick around.

We had the exact same issue! When we tapped in to get our PP photos which were on the PURPLE screen, we used the PURPLE mickey head, but ended up with some random kinds photo.... I was a bit upset because our photo from Buzz was amazing!

I was confused when I did mine and tapped on both the Mickeys under our photo. Now I'm glad I did! I ended up with my photopass picture and one from another family.

Sunday, con’t

I am a power-walker. Em is a runner, which means she can keep a good power-walking pace. I also have the ability to navigate my way through a crowd quickly (likely due to my impatient nature!) I always leave my family in the dust. When my kids were little they’d complain, “Mom’s using her Disney feet again!”

In my defense it must be hereditary. Both of my parents had a fast stride and to this day my mother can outpace me when she’s determined to get someplace in a hurry.

Woody on the other hand......he’s a “stroller.” Never in a hurry to get anywhere, but not a sloth either. He considers his pace “normal.” When the two of us are walking together he often grabs my hand in order to slow me down. It’s a sweet gesture and reminder that the journey can be as pleasant as the destination.

But this morning the DESTINATION was of utmost importance.

And Em and I would not have to feel guilty leaving Woody in the dust.

As the literal rope was dropped, I heard myself whisper:
ON YOUR MARK.
GET SET.
GO!!!!!

Em and I were off! We were giddy with laughter as we quickly (but safely) power-walked through Future World. And we received the prize of being among the first guests here ~

And got a front row seat!

However I ended up not being happy with that location.

I got soaked by the ghosts of the Maelstrom trolls!

Seriously?

Em remained relatively dry and took great delight in my drenching. My mood improved when we went outside and saw that the line for FEA was now 40 minutes at 9:20 am. If I had waited that long only to get as wet as I did, I would not have been a happy camper.
