Adding Simba doesn't fix the problems the show has ;) so we'll see if they actually do "do better", but to be fair, you've been down on RoL since the start. (the only problem it fixes is those who want to see Disney movie scenes mixed in). Almost everyone has admitted to the shows flaws. I can still like it too even with the flaws. I like the potential it had, as well. IP doesn't fix technical flaws with the show. They need to build to a better conclusion for the show. Will they? It doesn't sound like massive changes but we'll see when it starts.
I agree, if this is nothing more than changing the montages than the show isn't even close to being fixed.

I've seen RoL 3 different times, it's not a good show. It's all valleys and no peaks.

My family and I enjoy Rivers of Light because we understand the symbolism and storyline. Although I am disappointed with the addition of Disney animation and classic songs, I do appreciate the addition of scenes from Disneynature films. Previously, I had wondered why Disneynature films had not been referenced. To me, Disneynature scenes, without the narration, can easily be incorporated with the existing soundtrack.

Sadly, I feel that The Lion King and , specifically, the Circle of Life will be taking a prominent role in this revised nighttime show, which is unfortunate because it already has its own dedicated theatrical space.

Somebody's posts went down like the titanic then.
I know Disney is friendly with Jim Cameron now, but your confirmation that the finale of RoL: My Heart Will Go On will focus on Titanic is too much for me. You bring the worst news. Next you’ll share details of Bob Iger’s final direct-to-Disney Channel pet project: Titanic 2: Rose Let’s Go on the Disney Dream.

I’m going to the Sea World boards.

Disneynature was always in Rivers of Light from Day One. Hell, the Lion and Cheetah scene is a direct lift from African Cats. But here's the thing: Documentary Animals aren't necessarily identifiable and marketable Disney characters. It's the same thing as how we think of the Jungle Cruise and Nature's Wonderland as being their own things despite them taking a lot of cues from the True Life Adventures.

Any chance ROL: WAO will soft open before the 24th?? We all know it doesn't have the following ROE has. So IDK if the original ROL has to go through the 23rd?

How wonderful would it be if they brought back the performers for the final showing so they could at least send the original masterpiece off with dignity...

Ugh, it's been a sad week.
That would be nice!

Totally agree about the sad week! Hopefully ROL: WAO turns out to be the only news this week!!!!! PLEASE let Corless be wrong!!!

Not WDW but, still can't believe that Celebrate! TDL ends Friday!!

In my opinion, the only IPs other than Lion King that would make sense to incorporate into this show would be Bambi, Jungle Book, Pocahontas, Tarzan, and Brother Bear, just as long as each character's cameo is kept silent so that their dialogue doesn't ruin the soundtrack in any way. I do personally enjoy Rivers of Light as is, but I do definitely agree that it's nowhere near as good as most of the other Disney nighttime spectaculars.

I’ll see how the show changes and how the reviews change and judge from there. I think if done well it could enhance the show, and if done poorly, could detract from it. What will unfortunately go unmeasured, as it always does, is how this affects the synergy of the park as a whole.

My question is: When will the last showing of it be? Friday before the weekend? I need wear the shaman shirt I designed and give it a depressing send off. Lol

Nothing will happen without some kind of movie IP tie-in with a merchandising guy in charge of P&R.

And not that "Frozen Land" couldn't be good, it just seems a bit... over the top... for one movie. We'll have to see how it turns out at WDSP.
