Age old question - onsite vs. offsite

I'll be calling the time share later today. Its only 9:36am here. I'm trying to get as much info as I can before I make any decision. My wife who has long pushed the off site resorts is asking to cancel and stay on property and that actually surprised me. For our week long stay, the delta...

Renting DVC points vs. on property resorts

I've started my research and all that I'm finding is possible out of date with regards to advantages/disadvantages with regard to renting DVC. Most of what I googled is pre-pandemic, so it may be out of date. If go to Dave's and rent secure a reservation will I be able to book dinner...

Age old question - onsite vs. offsite

So, I booked a timeshare vacation at the Sheraton Vistana in lake Buena Vista for my kids February Vacation of 2024. The cost about 300 dollars for the week, add in car rental, fees, and park tickets to WDW. We're looking at a 3,000 dollars (2,xxx of that amount is park tickets). If I were to...

    Disney Hotels during a hurricane

Let me add, that while Disney may want to open the park in a day or two, I wonder if they'll be able too. It depends on how bad central florida is and of course how its workers are fairing, i.e., if your home is destroyed, you really won't be showing up for work any time soon

    Disney Hotels during a hurricane

Anyone have any information of happens to the people during a hurricane? As many of us watch and pray for those down in Florida, I wonder how the poor souls who chose the last week of September to visit WDW. Do the resorts of backup generators, enough food for the next few days? I can't...

End of August or early September 2022?...

Two things come to mind for late summer trips. 1. Heat/humidity will probably be excessive. 2. Hurricane season I'm not saying don't go, but I think you need to be mindful and expect 100 degree temps, and 100% humidity, along with possible hurricanes/tropical storms.

Anyone know how the crowds have been this week?

In all honesty, I've never heard that. All I keep hearing about is how crowded July and Aug are. The undercover tourist seems to back that up, with showing red. It seems to ease up the later you get into Aug, as many southern schools start back up.

DIS Is Not Performing Well.. How Will This Effect Disneyworld?

Yup, and while many people complain, the bottom line is the bottom line and Disney is making a lot of money, the parks are crowded, the resorts are full. With so many going to wdw, all decisions to cash in on those folks are getting validated.

    Dining Plan

dining plans are part of an incentive package to lure people to book trips. With 2022 seeing huge crowds, there's little reason for Disney to offer this right now. I agree, with the other poster, 2023 at the earliest.

DIS Is Not Performing Well.. How Will This Effect Disneyworld?

The 1 month snapshot of Disney stock is well surprising, the downward trend is inescapable. I read somewhere that Capek was in danger of getting fired. to be honest, given the negative press and now the stock price not showing any signs if improving. He's in deep weeds. I don't know if he...

DIS Is Not Performing Well.. How Will This Effect Disneyworld?

No question and again without going into the rightness or wrongness of that law, from what little I do know, its highly and widely supported by the citizens of Florida. My point here is that a CEO who doesn't live in Florida is dictating how his company is going to use its resources to fight a...

DIS Is Not Performing Well.. How Will This Effect Disneyworld?

I don't think there's a single answer but here's my take on some of the reasons why it may be impacted. Disney taking a political stand - I don't think it matters which side of the fence on that topic but rather it rattled investors that Disney coming hard out on a given political stance...

Anyone know how the crowds have been this week?

I'm curious to know how crowded it was this past week. Up here in Massachusetts, its April vacation and I know a lot of families who headed down to Florida. I myself have been to WDW during april vacation, and that's when I said I'd never do that again due to high crowds. I think if our...

    Magic Kingdom vs. MVMCP

Truth be told, I'd not worry about making that highly specific decisions on which park to go to, until you're closer then 4 years to your vacation. A lot can and will happen between 2022 and 2026.

Was Magic Kingdom’s parking and transportation system a mistake?

Mine too. My kids are now teenagers yet we spend more time at MK then any other park

    Jungle Cruise

The jungle cruise was always a busy ride - I can see why. Like A small world, it offers a quiet respite to the craziness of a full park. I remember my prior trips, it typically had 40+ minute waits. I think genie+ has only exacerbated this since people don't want to waste that paid option on...

i want my trams and i want them now

Late to this thread - so let me get this straight. Disney no longer has trams to take you to/from your car? Holy cow, that can be a very long walk

Was Magic Kingdom’s parking and transportation system a mistake?

It was an odd set up and truth be told, not really an enjoyable one at days end with two very tired and cranky kids. Yet, all things being equal, its not something I've really thought about much since.
