I disagree. That parcel of land is not more geologically stable given that is supposedly has less water. That's not necessarily true.

I think it is closed at the moment. I was there last night shortly before and during Pirate and Princesses and it looked as if the water was drained out of the ride.

I keep thinking about Disney’s theme of “dreams come true.” I’m not sure I want to attend an attraction where someone’s dream comes to an abrupt end. Something just doesn’t seem right about that to me.
