I live 90 minutes away and go to the parks about 30 times per year. We usually do two or three long weekends (three or four days of park hopping at a time)

I'll agree that queues are best experienced at a quick pace but if I have to wait in line, I'd rather be waiting in a shaded area with something to hold my attention.

My Top 5 Queue areas are: 1) POTC 2) Splash Mountain 3) Expedition Everest 4) Great Movie Ride 5) Tower of Terror ...and an Honorable Mention to the Hall of Presidents (gotta love the historical relics - yet many people don't realize that it is even there)
