    New Innoventions Maps

Wow … those shots are pretty similar. I actually dug out my old photo albums just to make sure I hadn’t stolen the picture. :) Mine was taken in August of ’91 on the trip where I proposed to my wife. Not much changed in the time between the two pictures. Now, for a picture taken in...

Part time at Innoventions. [Aside to Irrawaddy Erik] : You'll be getting a Coordinator from us in about a week. Treat her well. We all already miss her.

    Opening Ceremonies

Shear force of will. :) Actually, guest seem to be pretty good about staying behind us. Although, if they don't think we are moving fast enough they are quick to tell us. Plus, we just tell them that until we make it back to the attraction nothing can open so there's no point in running...

    Opening Ceremonies

I don't know how it works at other parks, but at Epcot we have cast members from the various attractions up front at rope drop. When the ropes go down the cast members start heading back to their attractions and guests are intstructed not to pass us. I love it when I can start my day working...

You can find a demonstration of a window made from this type of glass in the House of Innoventions (inside Innoventions East).

Open Invitation to all Board Members!!!

If anyone happens to be at Epcot on the 5th, I'll be working in Innoventions from 9-4. (I'll be there the 4th as well, but it looks like everyone will be over at MGM that day.) Just look for the big bald guy with a nametag that says "Michael". Most of the time I'm on the East side, but you...

G4TechTV Fires Hosts, 2 Shows Cancelled

G4 couldn't get on DirectTV or Dish Network (partly because they are owned by Comcast) so they bought TechTV, pretended for a few months that it was a "merge", and are now dropping most everything associated with TechTV. Including, from what I've heard, the "TechTV" part of the name.

    New Innoventions Exhibit??? (Opportunity City)

It should be open tomorrow (Sunday the 14th). They were pulling down the walls when I left work this evening.

Should a 3 year old see The Incredibles?

I don't recall any inappropriate language ... just action sequences like the others have said. I took my 3yr old, however I come from parents that took me to see "The Godfather" when I was 6, so my level of appropriate is probably somewhat different than yours. Honestly though, my daughter was...

    New Innoventions Exhibit??? (Opportunity City)

Well, I guess I didn't need to be so cryptic. That is in fact what will be going in.

    New Innoventions Exhibit??? (Opportunity City)

I was scheduled for training in the area a couple of weeks ago, but it (training) was delayed. I'm only there on weekends, so I'm not sure if others have gotten training or if the venue is having delays. As for what the venue will be like, since I don't know what I'm allowed to talk about...

    Foods

BBQ is another good example. Not only is BBQ uniquely American, but it also has quite a few regional variations. Having spent the vast majority of my life in Texas, I must say that it has the best. Darn. Now I'm hungry and my favorite BBQ place is over 1000 miles away. Thanks. :)

Where's the Fire? New exhibit to open next month at EPCOT

It should be a semi-permanent display – meaning as long as Liberty Mutual is willing to pay for it. I can’t tell you too much about the exhibit (mainly because I don’t know much) but in addition to the fire truck there will be a fire safety presentation with a game show format. When I went...

    What Happened to the Omnibusses?

Over the last few weeks I've seen all the various Main Street vehichles running. I'm not sure, however, if they only operate seasonally or if they've just now decided to return them to service. I can imagine that during the busy season it would be nearly impossible to drive one of those down...

    WDW drive from Dallas

I used to live in Dallas (and still have family there) and have made that drive on quite a few occasions. It usually takes us around 17-18 hours to make the trip, and that's with a pretty decent number of restroom breaks. Of course, if I'm driving straight through, I try to do most of the...

The main hurricane Charley thread (for WDW & Central Fla. discussion)

I don't post often, but you can add me to the list of people who made it through the storm unscathed. I had a few pine branches to clean up and one of of my trees now sits at about a 45 degree angle, but otherwise everything is fine.

    MK Hurricane Day Trip Report

My daughter and I decided to run in to the Magic Kingdom this morning before Hurricane Charley made his appearance. Here are the things that caught my eye: Crowds, obviously, were light. The parking area had very few cars, and by far the large majority appeared to be resort guests. Cast...
