It’s strange that there were rabbits on the logs of the concept model at D23. It makes me wonder if there were changes at the last minute. It just seems bizarre.

I don’t think the number of animatronics is the issue. Is anyone actually counting? I think it needs more environment and detail. That’s where splash excelled. Not everything has to move.

I wonder why they added an additional dispatch area with a cast member before the first lift hill. That’s new.

I was there after the cast members came down and the logs were still running. Eventually they did stop, an announcement came on, and the work lights came on. Those were truly the last logs, as all cast members left after the ride closed and it was drained and construction started that morning.

I’ve always found the audio system to be subpar. I always thought it was the animatronics / water rushing, but when they lowered the music for an announcement it is dead silent.

I wouldn’t be shocked if they updated the sensors and computer system of the ride as well. If I recall correctly, there are two independent computer systems running the ride and occasionally issues are caused by them not being in sync. This could likely be changed to a single, more reliable system.

What you said makes complete sense. I think you’re 100% right. I was trying to understand where that scene was occurring. I was thinking maybe it was right as you go inside, but that angle wouldn’t give you enough time to appreciate the animatronics.
