Do Other Guests Ever Listen To You?

Anytime anyone from my place of employment is going to MCO for vacation, everyone tells them to come talk to me. I just give them general advise about what to see, how to maximize your time, what websites to visit prior to leaving, etc. Several have come back and thanked me for "saving" their...

    Strange Picture Requests

Alison; Click on the link at the bottom of my post for my homepage. On this page, click on the link for "themeparks". I have nine pages of photos on this site from my trips to WDW and UO. As a former Long Islander, I can understand how someone who has never been west of Brooklyn would be...

Does anybody know about IOA's new island

With the two new attractions going up at USF in 2003, I cannot imagine IOA will be putting anything new in before 2004. Based on the estimated costs for Shrek and Jimmy Newtron at the Studios, and Vivendi's latest stock problems, it is hard to believe that another major attraction could be funded.

    Theme for 5th Theme Park????

How about something like the lands from the movie Westworld? They could have lands based on the old west, old England, ancient china, maybe one made to look like Antartica. The only big problem will be getting the robots to look like Yul Brenner.

    Universal Ticket Prices go up

I heard a rumor on my last trip there about a possible ride based on the movie Waterworld. Guess they figure, the movie didn't make any money, maybe the attraction will.

    Worth It?

10sne1, I have a leather " pack" that my digital camera, extra batteries, extra flash cards, wallet and park tickets fit in just right. I make sure the camera is in and zipped for all the motion rides. For the water rides (especially Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges), I place the whole pack in...

    Universal Ticket Prices go up

I agree with tenchu. My last family trip to FL was two days at USF and five at WDW. For the four of us, the whole trip cost $8,000. Do you really think an extra $20 or $40 for passes will change our minds about going again?? NOT!!

    Worth It?

We are WDW vets (as you can see below). However, now that my kids are 12 (DD) and 10 (DS), they have more interest in going to USF/IOA then they do in going to WDW. Our next trip (tentatively for May 2003) is going to be three days at USF/IOA staying at the Hard Rock, and four days at WDW. My...

    Universal Tickets

Just to clarify for everyone, I was just at USF/IOA last month and bought the standard 2-day, 2-park pass. I did this because I was only there for one day (business trip) and I wanted to go to both parks. The second day never expires and I can also park hop whenever I go back and use the...

    Emerils

I've eaten at Emeril's. I have traveled alot (43 states and counting) and Emeril's is in my top 3 for restaurants. The service is exceptional and the food excellent. Although alot of people say it is expensive, I don't believe it is out of line. My wife and I ate at Portobello Yacht Club at...

    Kong

Personally, I have not seen the huge crowds going to Kong that you mention. Last two trips we were there, we basically walked right on the ride. I agree that the ride is pretty good, but I'm sure Universal doesn't take down attractions that are still pulling numbers. They are not going to...

is it worth adding universal studios to vac

Yes, I believe a family with younger kids can do both parks in one day, if it isn't too crowded. You probably will not be able to do all the shows and stuff. I would suggest starting at Seuss Landing at park opening. The kids will love this area, as the rides are similar to things at MK, but...

is it worth adding universal studios to vac

Personally, I love USF and IOA and so does my family. However, I agree with MrPromey that, due to the age of your kids, they would not get as much out of IOA. Alot of the rides have height requirements they would not meet. USF has only one or two attractions with height requirements, so that...

    Bye Bye Big Thunder

Glad I chose to go to USF/IOA on my one-day trip next month. I couldn't imagine how mad I would be if I paid all that $ to get into MK on my one available day, only to find two mtns closed at the same time. I work in aircraft, so I understand about safety and all. But I also know you...

So, Universal buys an ad for the Superbowl

NowInc, I don't believe USF is "copying" WDW anymore. To me, they seem to be in the forefront with the latest and greatest over the last several years, with WDW trying to catch-up. Which really bugs me, since I'm a Disney stockholder. But, because of USF's forward thinking, I'll be spending...

    Land running out for ioa

OK, here's my opinion (although I'm a newbie to this board, I've been on another one for quite a while and I also have a little experience with WDW). My DD is now 12 and my DS is 10. They have been to both WDW and USF/IOA quite a few times. When they were younger, WDW was virtually everything...

    Current Park Attendance

No, we didn't forget. Unfortunately, with the crowds the way they were, we felt we would not be able to cover all the things we wanted to in AK, so we decided to redo a few of the big attractions at opening of MK, then slid over to EPCOT to finish that and get away from the crowds. From what...
