    EPCOT Poll

But will this seemingly infinite sum of human knowledge become a flood of electronic babble? Or could we use a place to motivate and inspire us to usher in a new age of understanding and cooperation...?

Noob! The cool kids still call it the Village ;)

News Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind attraction confirmed for Epcot

To be fair, this is more like another few inches of dirt piled on top of the already sealed coffin sitting in a 6 foot hole. The nails were finished being driven a long time ago.

Will anyone miss Ellen's Energy Adventure?

Blessing of size? Didn't Walt say something like: "Here in Florida, we have something special that we never enjoyed at Disneyland, the curse of size. Now that there's enough land here to hold all the ideas and plans we can possibly imagine... we can stop imagining truly new things and just...

News Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind attraction confirmed for Epcot

One key concept of EPCOT Center's Future World was in fact "possibility". But not the possibility that something exists outside of our control, such as aliens. EPCOT Center was about the possibility of human achievement. Outer Space is there and the only thing keeping a Brava Centauri space...

News Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind attraction confirmed for Epcot

I know I posted this a long time ago, but it seems appropriate to dust it off. Somehow, even a couple years ago, I knew I should have left more space for "additions".

News Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind attraction confirmed for Epcot

So since he experienced it in its previous glory, can we assume that Peter Quill is also disappointed to see what has become of EPCOT Center? Seriously though, the cognitive dissonance involved in destroying a legacy while appealing to memories and nostalgia is amazing.

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

The visions of the future seem to change so fast. I always thought it would have been really cool if Horizon's had eventually been upgraded to include an 80s section in the "Looking back at tomorrow" portion of the ride. It would be somewhat inherently self-referential, but interesting nonetheless.

    Guests at Pools

I know that this is everyone's favorite meme on these boards when you want someone to get over something, but you people saw the movie, right? It didn't exactly work out for her and she ended up having to care again for not only her good, but the rest of the city... :p

    Tipping Mousekeeping

Despite what one poster in this thread likes to repeat, tipping as "etiquette" has not existed since "always". Earlier in the thread I posted a link to a somewhat recent article describing that the majority of people did not tip housekeeping even a few years ago. If you want to go back even...

    Tipping Mousekeeping

This is actually against current FLSA rules. A tip pool cannot include cooks (or other customarily non-tipped positions). The National Restaurant Association is trying to get a case before the Supreme Court that could change that, but for now, the District courts are deferring to the current DOL...

    Tipping Mousekeeping

I suppose that depends on your definition of "always". http://time.com/money/3394185/tipping-myths-realities-history/ According to this article, "As recently as 2011 [...] industry experts such as Michael Lynn of the Cornell School of Hotel Administration pointed to data suggesting that only...

Best Bars / Drinking Spots throughout WDW

It's certainly well known, but given where you're staying, JellyRolls would be a great time.

What would you do with a kid free evening?

I would recommend JellyRolls on the Boardwalk. It's always a great time.

    A Spirited Valentine ...

Wow, that's crazy. Do you happen to know how they defined the percentage (i.e. percent of revenue, percent of rooms, square footage...)? I'm just curious what the actual metric is, but in any case that is a startling number.

What is your favorite WDW Music for relaxing/studying/working, etc...?

I think I see why I'm hearing something you're not. I started the video and then stopped it to adjust my volume. When I clicked on it to start it again, there were other videos in the iframe including this one: which is what I clicked apparently. When I heard Bippity Boppity I assumed I had the...
