Just returned with a few quick observations

Great info! I love reading observations from someone who just stepped foot out of the parks. Kinda makes me feel like I was just there!

Saving money by booking each night as a separate reservation

This is exactly how I feel. I love, upon checking-into our room, unpacking all of our stuff, hanging shirts, putting clothes in the drawers, unpacking our toiletries, and just generally "settling into" our room. This is our haven for the next however many days. The thought of having to pack...

    Favorite restaurants that aren't...

I absolutely love Columbia Harbor House. Something about the ambiance in that place... it just reminds me of going to MK as a kid in the 70's and 80's...

DHS The Park Formerly Known as Disney's Hollywood Studios? Yep ...

One trip to the studios in 1992 I sat in on a taping of the old tv show "Body by Jake". It was so cool to be a part of an actual tv studio audience. Then when the episode aired months later I was able to see myself in the audience when the camera panned.

    Port Orleans French Quarter

Yeah, I still am amazed by this every time I am at the resort and look at the restaurant just sitting there empty. We used to eat there every morning for breakfast back in the 90's. It was always crowded. I could understand if it was not making money, but I seriously doubt that was the case...

    Port Orleans French Quarter

I would have to agree with Captain Hook above. I have probably stayed at POFQ at least 15-20 times over the past 15 years. I absolutely love the theming and charm of this resort and walking around, you will see how beautiful it really is. It is fairly small so walking around is a breeze and...

Circle of Life... Why is it still there?

Don't even get me started with Kitchen Kabaret! I grew up seeing that show every single time that I went to Epcot. I even had the entire magnet set of characters hanging on our family fridge at home. I still think that show would be a huge hit still. Veggie, Fruit, Fruit, Veggie, Veggie...

    Astuter Computer Revue in Communicore

Wow, thanks! That show was probably so lame, but to a 10 year old kid in the 80's, it was awesome. Did not realize that the theater used to be in what is now that section of MouseGears.

    Le Cellier vs Yachtsman's

Agree 100%. Yachtsman is hands down the best restaurant on property IMO. I have been going for years. My parents go there to eat every single year for their Anniversary. They sit at the same table every time and get the same waiter, Oscar, every time. He has been working there as a waiter...

    Astuter Computer Revue in Communicore

I can remember waiting for hours to do that walking tour back when Epcot opened. I also remember playing that touch-screen game (cannot believe that they had those back then) where you had to sort different color luggage on a conveyor built to the proper airplane. And what was that show in...

Does it bother you, not arriving at the TTC?

These quotes sum up my thoughts exactly. In the mid/late 70's when I was a kid, we stayed off-site and did not know anything other than using the TTC. But in the early 80's they started the big-time Florida Resident discounts at the resorts, so we "graduated" to the Poly for every single trip...

    Downtown Disney Dinner Choice

My family and I love T-Rex. For a themed-chain-type restaurant, the food is really good and the portions are large. Atmosphere is great. And BTW, if you cannot get a reservation, you can simply walk right into the restaurant without speaking to anyone and take a seat right at the bar and eat...
