    Swinging for the fences

Hey everyone, So as the title says, I'm going for it all on this trip. I'm bringing my parents down for their anniversary. We're spending a week, so I really have a list of restaurants I plan on hitting. The big 3= Victoria and Alberts, Cali Grille, and Yachtsman (along with others). Now my...

    Disney World on Google Maps

Random and likely silly question: Are the little water ways that appear to be connected for good lengths (for instance the ones behind Typhoon Lagoon) ever used for anything? Just drainage I'm guessing.

Tickets now on sale for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

Off topic here, but does anyone remember the Merry Merry Christmas parties/shows at the Contemporary back in the day? Possibly the thing I miss most around the Christmas time. Its a crime they dont still exist.

Could Disney treat Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake with Chloramine?

Nice thread. I've always wondered why they never did anything like mentioned above either. I believe you could swim in the Poly water when it first opened, but that ended rather quickly. I had also wondered about the infitiy pool idea. I thought it would be cool idea to be able to swim...

    Spontaneous trip help!

Yeah, I could leave a day earlier as you say. Probably should, as most WDW vacations go saturday to saturday, so i could get a jump on the weekly crowd. The weird thing about the Swan is that the rooms drop in price beginning in the first week of December. I'm not sure why. I should be better at...

    Spontaneous trip help!

Yes, I was thinking that as well. Might jump over to Port Orleans or somewhere along those lines. Or maybe I'm pressing my luck and should just return home on the 6th... I know, I'm a mess haha. The thing i hate about the swan and dolphin is the lack of magicial express. Complicates everything...

    Spontaneous trip help!

Hi everyone, Little background--So i'm in the process of switching jobs. Today is my final day at my current job, and I thought I'd be starting my new job straight away. However, they preferred that I would start Dec 9, due to the upcoming holidays and all, they figured it would be easier for...

Your Number One Restaurant At WDW..

Yachtsman or CG.. Cant give you an answer. That would be like asking me which one of my children I like the most. For dessert? Easy answer. Beaches and Cream, of course!

    Heartbreak Hotel..

Very touching thread. Fortunately I haven't lost my parents yet, so i can't begin to pretend I know the pain of losing a close loved one. I'm an only child. I've been to Disney with my Mom over 20+ times. I don't think I will be able to return to Disney at all after she passes. Too many...

How many nights have you slept in a Disney hotel

I've lost count as well. I've made roughly 20 trips at a week or so a pop, so ballpark it around 140.

Disney pools to be locked/ inaccessible in the overnight hours

Sure it would be an additional cost, but the majority of those lifeguards are college aged kids making a relatively low wage. They obviously wont do this, because as you said, they would gain no true benefit from it, aside from a visual one without the locks and fences. Take a look at a Disney...

Disney pools to be locked/ inaccessible in the overnight hours

Disney pretending they dont have the money/budget to cover the cost of additional lifeguards is the real laugher. They wouldn't even notice the missing $$$.

    Disney 3 Resorts In 3 Weeks...FREE....

Value: This is a shocker, but i'm going with AOA as well. I've never stayed, and its the newest. I have a bit of OCD about cleanliness, but Disney is usually exceptional with that, so no worries. Plus, the lines I see for the bus stops to the all star are enough to send me overboard. Mod: POR...

Disney pools to be locked/ inaccessible in the overnight hours

I actually feel foolish for not staying somewhere other than the BC during most of my stays. There's been COUNTLESS times when coming back late night from the park where ive thought "man, id love to recuperate in the hot tub right now." Sigh. This is like my own personal Disney version of "Is...

Disney pools to be locked/ inaccessible in the overnight hours

I mean, I don't know about the fences, but we never swam late night or saw anyone in the pools after closing time anyway. I'm assuming they were stricter with that pool than most other hotels.

    Cruise without children??

Thanks for the help. We're dying to get to castaway cay! Might have to take the plunge regardless.

    Cruise without children??

Sorry to jump into this thread, but i'm sitting in the same boat (or cruise ship). Thinking about heading on one as well without kids... 2 quick questions: 1) This is probably the dumbest of the two, but are there any room floors without kids? Shot in the dark, i know. I'd probably have to bunk...

Disney pools to be locked/ inaccessible in the overnight hours

Were all the pools accessible at night before this? I can recall, as recently as our trip to the BC in May, that the lifeguards had everyone exit the pools. In fact, I cant remember ever seeing anyone in the pool late at night. Maybe I was never paying mind to it...

Ah, I see. Well, that'll do it. Unfortunate.
