    Don't give up on dining!

Back from our Oct 3-12 trip. Didn't try for lots of sit-downs. Via Napoli doesn't take ressies yet. Waited about 10 minutes to get a table (for two) for dinner. Same day lunch ressies for 50s Prime Time, France and Tokyo Dining were no problem. Also Citricos for the Saturday night, although...

    The Potter Affect......

Nine nights at Poly two weeks ago and went to IOA on the Thursday. First time at Uni since 2002 - for IOA. Potter World was most anticipated attraction, especially since Mickey had nothing new (since my Nov 08 trip), unless you count Eo. Loved Harry and will return next trip. Rode Forbidden...

    Guest attacks Disney bus driver

Don't have proof, but here's my post from Nov 08 when I stayed at the POP: "Bus service was scarily good the entire week. Only twice did I wait more than two minutes for a bus. Almost every time one was waiting or pulling up. I did stand a lot but that was expected. Twice the POP bus pulled...

    Guest attacks Disney bus driver

Attractions have posted wait times, and some have Fastpass. Also, I found people only getting upset when they'd waited more than 30 minutes as a rule, and when they'd seen multiple buses for other destinations. Coming back from Downtown two Sunday nights ago we saw two buses for most resorts...

    Guest attacks Disney bus driver

This is unfortunate, but after last week I'm not surprised to see emotions flaring. We stayed at the Poly. One morning we went to catch the DHS bus at 8:30. People had been waiting for some time. Three AK and three Downtown came (two Downtown pulled in one after the other). Several people asked...

Oct 2010 Roll Call Too Early??

Oct 3-12 at Poly using Fall/Winter room plan. $255 ($267 on weekend). Originally couldn't get all nine nights but checked everyday on website and eventually came up. Oddly, trying night by night didn't work, but when I re-tried the entire stay (a week later) it worked. First time in October...

ADR's for new pizza place at EPCOT

Was this covered? What size pizza will the DDPers qualify for?

ADR's for new pizza place at EPCOT

Kinda shocked by the prices, even for WDW. One article says guy-in-charge loves the "simple" pizzas of Southern Italy. Too bad the prices don't reflect that. I don't see a pizza place as a TS. It's supposed to be simple and quick, not formal and expensive. Rather go to Puck's. They probably...

I've got the "I didn't get to go to WDW blues"

I was unable to go this winter, first time since 1986. But my Mom, sister-in-law, niece and cousin went for a girls only trip. And Mom brought me back two snickerdoodles from Prairie Outpost (which she knows I love). So that gave me a piece of Disney for a couple days (they keep fresh remarkably...

The Dining Plan WAS a good deal but not anymore

Right. In George's defense, the eclair was sitting "on top" so technically not garbage. I bet George would love the DDP while Jerry would be against it. Anyone else keep getting unsubscribed to this thread?

The Dining Plan WAS a good deal but not anymore

George Costanza will come along and fish it out.

    EPCOT Italy pizzeria name revealed!

It's funny. France is now considered to have the world's best pizza. I can attest to that. The best pizza I ever had was at a small restaurant in Arles. Maybe the French pavilion will open a competing place!

The Dining Plan WAS a good deal but not anymore

Actually, the skeptic in me believes that this is partly the point for the widespread marketing of the DDP. When Disney built the string of deluxe resorts in the late 1908s/1990s and then the mods and values, they needed to fill hotel restaurants. So by filling the theme park eateries with...

The Dining Plan WAS a good deal but not anymore

Some days our food budget is low. Others, it's not. Day one - We'll grab pastries for breakfast or eat at the Captain's Grille (which could be about $25). We'll go to the AK and split a Smoked 1/2 Chicken at the Flame Tree ($10). It's more than enough food for two adults. We don't drink soft...

The Dining Plan WAS a good deal but not anymore

I imagine most people are spending more. $40 per day each is certainly more than we ever spend on average. And Disney has these people for their entire stay, and paying rack rates. What I'm curious to know is how the DDP works with non-Disney owned restaurants, such as Japan. Do Disney pay...

    Easter Wonderland & Spring Carnival

Thanks. Can't believe those wait times. 280 minutes for Journey. Never seen anything like that at WDW. Does anyone actually wait that long? You'd think when the line got to, say, 200 minutes, people would just say no.

The Dining Plan WAS a good deal but not anymore

But if money is that big of a concern, I don't see how the DDP is beneficial. We, fortunately, are not on a tight budget, but we never spend $40 per day each on food (averaged over the trip). We just don't eat that much. If money is such a concern, then a couple TS and a bunch of CS may be a...

    Advanced Dining Reservations

It depends. We never have trouble getting what we want by making ressies the morning of. But you may not get your first choice or your preferred time. Be flexible. Lunch is usually easier. Hotel restaurants are easier on weekdays.
