Rumour - New World Showcase Ride?

Wouldn't it be freaky to actually take a train across America to get to WDW and then go on this ride? I have no clue where this would go. I can't envision a train around the countries on the backside, and certainly not on the lagoon side. And America already has an attraction. I can't...

Disney settles suit with EPCOT ride builder (from phillyburbs.com)

So this company built the ride. Disney's contribution was recycling the movie from Star Tours and lighting Gary Sinise badly. Oh yes, and the wonderful white exit hallway that gives you that Mars atmosphere.

The Year of a Million Dreams is over!

Agree somewhat, but they didn't have 25,000 hotel rooms to fill back then. If attendance was weak it certainly hurt the parks, but they weren't saddled with thousands of empty hotels rooms. In Dec 1988 the Caribbean (part of it) had just opened. We were in Florida and called up that morning and...

The Year of a Million Dreams is over!

I love going to WDW and yes I get it's a magical place and all that, but the parades with their constant magic and dream themes make me uncomfortable. I'm already there. I'm having a good time. I don't need to have the concept of magic and dreams rammed down my throat. It's like having a...

The Year of a Million Dreams is over!

My cousin was saying my other teenage cousin went to Orlando and only went to Universal and Sea World and had zero interest in Disney. I wonder if he knew about RnRC, TZTOT, TT, M:S, EE, etc. Look at the Christmas parade on TV. Nearly everything was aimed at kids. When I crossed the border...

The Year of a Million Dreams is over!

I don't recall them prior to the past few years. We first went to WDW in 1986. The only things I'd ever seen about the place was the promo film that accompanied Snowball Express in 1971/2 (I'd love to see that again), and a magazine article about EPCOT. That made me want to go. I don't think a...

The Year of a Million Dreams is over!

If I go to WDW this year will they ask me what I'm going to celebrate? And if I don't have an answer will they bar me from entering? Is this like the bridge in Monty Python and the Holy Grail? Can't I just go and have a regular vacation like I have the last 30 times I've been there?

    Captain Hook is scary

Last May we hit WDW with my 2y8m niece. She absolutely loved it, and has talked about it for months. Every plane that flies over she yells, "It's going to Disney World." This week her parents told her that they were going back in April. She said NO. Why not, they asked, perplexed? Because of...

    Horrible Experience at Tutto Italia

You're right. And the price rises. Wow, $42 bucks for Grilled Beef Striploin. That doesn't sound good. What gets me is $10 for a garden salad. I balk at that.

    I complained....and I actualy got satisfaction.

One poster complained of a 'horrible' restaurant experience because their food came too quickly. Now an 'awful' hotel stay because they couldn't find a good cup of coffee. What's next? A 'disastrous' round of mini-golf because they got a pencil without any lead? Wow, with all the bad things that...

Chefs de France. I love going to France and this is as close as I can get and still be in North America.

For Fun--What is your favorite WDW restaurant and item on it?

Hard to choose, but I loved the pistachio creme brulee at Jiko.

How to get on 1st row of Soarin?

Just keep riding and you'll get the front row eventually. It's all about odds. Oddly, last visit I rode three times and got top, middle and bottom. But, I got the middle section all three times, which seems highly improbably mathematically.

    World Showcase attractions

I don't think the financial impetus exists to do this. My understanding is that Disney collects royalties on the restaurants and shops. Take Japan, for example. Two restaurants always full, and a recently expanded shop that's invariably jammed. Just try getting anywhere near the pearl counter...

    Horrible Experience at Tutto Italia

I thought Signature places would be immune to the DDP since the plan is not cost efficient concerning these places. If you allocate two sit down meals that's about $50, but in general an entree and dessert at a Signature doesn't cost this amount. So Signatures are where the people not on DDP are...

    Horrible Experience at Tutto Italia

Horrible? Horrible is somebody got food poisoning, somebody died (okay, that's beyond horrible), you got a rat in your food, you got held up in the men's room. What you described is far from horrible. The exaggeration and hyperbole makes people skeptical and leaves no room for a poster who had...

    January 2009 Booked?

Are you saying the values weren't available at all or just weren't available with the 4/3 promotion?

Gawd, I didn't realize how pathetic we really are. Now, a Shania Twain AA? Hmmmm.

    January 2009 Booked?

While I'm sorry that the OP can't find a room, I'm glad to see that WDW is full and that the talk of 35 per cent occupancy is false. This means less cutbacks and scale backs as to future additions - I hope.
