    New Imagineering book...got it early!

It was enjoyable, though I enjoyed the first one a lot more. Most of the pictures are great, and some of the layouts and spreads are fun, but I found the writing to be a little list-heavy.

Eddie Sotto's take on the current state of the parks

Just my $.02 on the maintenance issue-- in lighting there's always a battle with lamping. How many times have we all seen 10 light fixtures in a room or along a pathway and 8 of them are cool white and two of them are warm white or greenish? It drives me absolutely bonkers. The only...

Eddie Sotto's take on the current state of the parks

Looks like Disney bowed to some public pressure and decided not to end Aladdin the musical over at Disneyland Resort. (Disney Parks Blog) Eddie, did you ever work on a project that got radically reworked or canceled because of public reaction?

Imagineers at future MI coaster building.

I think they may be phasing out Sorcerer Mickey as the WDI mascot, the recent (last 6 months or so) WDI business cards I've seen don't use him any more. Kind of a bummer, he is the perfect logo for them.

Eddie Sotto's take on the current state of the parks

The amphitheater itself is very well put together, but they took a round body of water that lends itself to a 360degree show and added a proscenium like viewing area along one small part of it. My point is just that they could have carved little viewing niches around the entire lagoon and...

Eddie Sotto's take on the current state of the parks

That part that fascinates me the most about this is that after years of successful in-the-round lagoon shows and 3/4 stage spectaculars they decided to go with such a narrow viewing angle. I understand the complexities of projecting on water (image only renders if rear projected), and that...

Eddie Sotto's take on the current state of the parks

I was at the park the other day, and by my super-unscientific poll, I think capacity might actually go up. Though the max capacity is 4 per car, only every 3rd or 4th car actually seems to have cuddlers now-a-days, so average capacity is probably somewhere around 2.5 currently, where now it will...

Imagineers at future MI coaster building.

It's the only Disney park that doesn't dominate the market its in and has never achieved its initial attendance expectations. It's beaten by Ocean Park, which is opening its own mega expansion to compete with Disney's.

    AMC ETX (IMAX) now open

IMAX makes no differentiation between their digital theater retrofits and the specialty, large format screen experience that most associate with "IMAX". Lame.

Disney, Marvel & Universal's Tangled Web

The only thing they can terminate after 2 years is the way the information sharing is handled, not any aspect of the original contract itself.

HSR Coming to FLA, AKA "See I told you so"

On a much more important note, I think both the California and Florida projects will be great investments, beyond the initial jobs stimulus. Let's hope they, and the rest of the projects, get off the ground successfully.

Disney gets on board with fast-train proposal

Not so fast: High-speed train project gets $2.25 billion from Obam :ROFLOL:

Disney sued over death of monorail driver

You know what, you are right. At least partially. Corporate Shield only applies to owners of corporations, not rank and file workers. Its been a while since my law classes. Piercing the Corporate Veil is related but different, it's explained pretty well by wiki, so I'll just link to that...

Disney sued over death of monorail driver

That's true, it's called the "corporate shield" (i'm sure there are ways for getting around it, but that I'm not familiar with).

Disney sued over death of monorail driver

Thank you, I frequently find myself pointing this out to people. It's also a reason why people need to read more than the headlines. I'm not sure what you're getting at? Those details seem completely inconsequential. Unless you're suggesting she should have stripped nude in a public parking lot?

Michael Colglazier named as new Vice President of Disney's Animal Kingdom

Speaking of executive changes... According to Laughing Place, Tony Baxter and Bob Weis now report to Tom Fitzgerald as the new WDI lead for Disneyland Resort. Once Bob focuses on Shanghai, that seems to leave Tony in an awkward spot, not to mention the demotion.

    O'Sentinel - NextGen - 1/17/10

Your grocery store (if its anything like mine) prints coupons for you based on your purchase history from the membership card. Do you consider that Minority Report advertising? I do hope there is an "opt out" of the system, but at the same time, I just don't see it as that big a deal. I don't...

I wonder it jt and Kevin use credit cards? Or if they do not want how much they're spending and where they are located tracked? And yes, Kevin, if you use a super market's membership card, they're tracking you. Have been for years.
