Reckon this is a step down for Lansberry?
Hope so.
One more step toward my ultimate goal that everyone involved in closing the Club will one day soon be begging for food somewhere along I-Drive.

We he was responsible for a multi-million dollar fatal accident. Glad he's getting put out to pasture.

Any information on what he has done for the company? I did a quick search, but I didn't find much.

Let's hope things get better for AK, that park has endless potential.

Highly interesting. I'm glad that Lansburry is seemingly away from WDW.

I'm happy there are shakeups going on....It seems that someone wants things to change. Would that be Mr. MacPhee? I hope and thinks so.
Lansberry is now in charge of Worldwide TRAVEL Operations. Are they insane?

Yes
But it's a SVP of a completely no-name position. It's a step down.
agreed...and I'm VERY happy about it!

His management style and everyone who follows it needs to be kicked to the curb! Did you know the GM of DTD had never even stepped foot in a club? Not AC, not CW, none other, absolutely never stepped foot in a club. "I don't see what the big deal is, a club is a club" That's the mentality of the people who were behind the closing of PI.

Horrid. But not shocking, they were rewarded for it.

Nope. It's not. It's a promotion. Much like MacPhee's job swap.

And I don't get all the hate on Lansberry anyway ... he was NOT the reason PI was shuttered ... it was decided way before and way higher than him. I also don't blame the monorail tragedy on him as he was barely in charge of transport. Now, I haven't heard great things about him on many levels, but the same is true of most WDW execs.

And, for once, I'm at a loss as to the new DAK VP ... I have never, ever, ever heard of the guy.

Which could be a good thing?

Well... I hope :lookaroun

Although I'm saddened the only new thing to happen at DAK is a new unknown VP and changing the Picnic in the Park. :brick:

Got any juicy rumors?

It is to a Non-Park position, though....It's more promotional.

As I now understand from someone. ;) Thanks. :)

Am I the only one who thinks it might make sense for the person running Animal Kingdom to have some experience running a zoological park? I know DAK is much more than a zoo, but there's no denying the animals are the focal point.

TWDC has made it abundantly clear under the current administration that executives are to be developed in the art of being executives, and not in the art of the disciplines which they oversee. Wall Street would have it no other way.

They paraded around meg inoverherhead crofton to PI on a rainy night in the slow season and she said "in a year, you won't even recognize this place" Shortly after they closed RRBC and 6 months later, announced the closing of PI. I don't buy that it was such a higher up decision. All they did was have TDO convince Rusulo and Iger that it should be closed using bad numbers after they had already sabotaged the whole island.

Speaking of executive changes...

According to Laughing Place, Tony Baxter and Bob Weis now report to Tom Fitzgerald as the new WDI lead for Disneyland Resort. Once Bob focuses on Shanghai, that seems to leave Tony in an awkward spot, not to mention the demotion.

True. He just presided over the carnage....which makes him involved...and guilty by association. Therefore he must be punished.

Everyone owes me 100 TDO scalps....and I WANT my scalps.

That....I don't like.

I don't think it is a promotion(maybe title wise) usually if they hold a job a couple of months and then get moved to another job quickly, there is something else going on. Especially if it is another job totally unrelated to your previous positions.

I remember Michael from EPCOT in 1995, he was in charge of the whole Innoventions project. He led the whole project team from the changeover from Communicore to Innoventions. He was a pretty nice guy when I met him. He had a great office on the 3rd floor of Communicore SE. Great views of Future World. Then he went to California to install Innoventions in DLR, I havent heard of him much since then.

And yes, I agree. He could have tried to stop it.
