Scuttle's Landing and Ariel's Grotto Now Gone

You're probably right. The blueprints show that a DVC booth will be located next to Dumbo, so it would make thematic and financial sense to move the existing booth there.

The Orange Bird has returned to the Sunshine Tree!

The Orange Bird was a character that Disney created for the Florida Citrus Commission as part of the deal for the Commission to sponsor the Sunshine Pavilion, which included the Sunshine Tree Terrace and the Tropical Serenade, which was the original name for the Tiki Room attraction at WDW. In...

    KODAK Wanting Out of Imagination?

I have to admit I have doubts about this rumor. Kodak is sponsoring Captain EO at Disneyland and it seems to be a huge success. I don't see why it would want to drop sponsorship before EO starts at Epcot.

The Orange Bird has returned to the Sunshine Tree!

It's not a Vinylmation. It's a bank that they used to sell back in the 70s. I took a picture of mine at the Sunshine Tree Terrace two years ago: The CMs working there at the time had no idea who the little guy was. It looks like they do now. :)

    The return of Mowgli?

I can't tell you who it is, but I can tell you when it was taken. It was during an AP event that was held at DAK on Sept. 29, 2007 to celebrate the Jungle Book DVD release. That horrible Mowgli costume has been permanently burned into my brain since that night. But the Hathi costume was awesome.

    one man dream

That would be terrific if they did. The last few times I've been in there the film was murky and the sound was muddy. Or perhaps they'll install some of the things that they removed from the Exposition Hall. It would be the perfect place for that mural they've kept covered up.

    Disney owning Fox

Just to clear up any possible misconceptions: FOX does not own American Idol. It's owned by 19 Entertainment and FremantleMedia, and they are the ones who are licensing the theme park rights to Disney. Also, don't forget that The Simpsons Ride is at Universal Studios. I don't think that's...

    Small World Refurb in August

WDI has already told the LA Times that it won't be adding Disney characters during this refurb. Of course, we all know that what Disney says and what it actually does can sometimes be two different things. :)

    Goodbye Jojo and Goliath

On a slightly related topic, Variety reports that Disney is ending its Soapnet channel in 2012 and changing it to "Disney Junior." It will also rename the current "Playhouse Disney" block on Disney Channel to "Disney Junior" in early 2011. I expect that the show and breakfast will be renamed...

Tower of Terror to get updates this summer

And there was a tiny bit more printed in the latest Mickey Monitor:

DHS Villains in Vogue Store sadly on it's way out...

Which is particularly fitting since Werther's aired a commercial last year that was filmed at the Germany pavilion. Here's a still from the commercial (courtesy of the Disney Blog) that might be an indication of what the shop will look like:

New Disney Parks Blu-ray/DVD June 1st!

It looks like they are. The episodes listed on the DVDs are all shows that were created by Lightship Entertainment that aired on the Travel Channel.

    In Defense of FLE

You can't get beer in the Liberty Tree Tavern, either. No matter how many times you ask for it. ;)

‘The American Idol Experience’ Attraction Celebrates First Year with ‘Dream Ticket’ R

I'm wondering if now he's been voted off, Disney would be free to sign him to a recording contract. He seems to be a good fit with its other teen performers, and Disney could take advantage of the whole AIE tie-in.

Free and secret Disney Transportation Trading Cards

Why is this an exact word-for-word quote from a September 8, 2008 posting on the Only WDWorld web site? http://www.onlywdworld.com/2008/09/transportation-trading-cards-another.html

    Fantasyland Expansion Re-opening Delayed?

This is what I took it to mean. Not that TLM would be completed in 2013, but that the entire Fantasyland expansion would be.

Probably because it's the start of the Columbus Day weekend.

Captain EO is coming back to EPCOT in the end the year!

Or longer. Here's what Lance posted about that: "When EO returns, we’ve heard that it will be for at least 1 year… though there is a rumored extension plan that could see the run extended for a second year if the demand is still high."

    MI2 Greenlighted! DHS Coaster Too?

I'm not taking sides in this discussion, but I think one of the reasons for the "franchise" assumption is a Q&A that Bob Iger gave to Fortune Magazine in 2008. Here's an extract, in which I've highlighted the part that pertains to this thread: Fortune: One of the decisions you made was to change...

    Discovery island makeover

There's been one small change since that article was posted. Disney is now saying that the bowling center will open in 2012, not 2011.
