WDW is canceling Jan. 31st reservations at CRT to hold event for more $

The part that seems to have been glossed over a bit (especially by those who continue to insist that WDW made right by the one person who we know had his BBB and CRT ressies moved) is that the initial offer was for him to book another restaurant. He had to stand his ground and escalate this...

WDW is canceling Jan. 31st reservations at CRT to hold event for more $

So the part of all of this that still has me baffled is why on earth someone at TDO thought this event was even a good idea. Assuming you had 30 parties displaced for this, and assuming 2 adults and 2 kids per table (brace yourself, whole lot of assumptions in play here), you would have...

Should monkey wearing a diaper in a baby stroller be allowed in WDW?

I work in retail management and also serve as Safety/Security Director for a medium sized fan convention in my city. I can honestly say that the number of "support" animals I see is ridiculous. At least twice a week I have to confront a customer in my store who has brought in a pet. Our pet...

Magical Disney moments needed to help brighten my day

While I won't go into just how we got selected ( I don't want to ruin the magic. ) I can say that many years ago my wife and I were selected as Grand Marshals for the afternoon parade. It was without a doubt the coolest, and surreal thing, I have ever experienced at WDW. The CMs were amazing...

    Begining of July

I've done the July 4th holiday trip a few times and yes, expect heavy crowds, but it's manageable. Definitely make dining reservations as far out as possible. MK will do the holiday fireworks on the 3rd and 4th, so we always catch MK on the 3rd and head to Epcot on the 4th. Epcot does the...

Is this really a thing or is it April 1ST? Cabanas in the parks.

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/travel/attractions/the-daily-disney/os-disney-world-cabanas-ending-20170113-story.html Well it's official for whatever that's worth. Sadly I am sure they will return in some fashion in the future. :arghh: Interesting article. I had no idea that for the low...

I've done some reading online about the sale of Live365's assets. Basically the company was acquired in a bankruptcy auction by another streaming company. The article speculates that while the site is indeed coming back, it may not be the same as it was. Oddly, the only info out there seems...

I absolutely loved Live365.com and listened for years. I finally decided to become a premium member only to learn they were shutting down in a few days. Really glad to see them back and hope to see some of my favorite WDW channels return soon. This totally made my day! :)

    Animal Kingdom Lodge

You'll find lots of great reviews and comments about this resort. We've stayed several times and can't wait to go back. The theming is amazing, the CM's are wonderful, and the restaurants are top notch, including The Mara. And the Savannah is worth the trip alone. I've always found this...

Would YOU sign up for a 7-hour Star Wars tour of Hollywood Studios?

So at first look this seems like I pay $122 to basically do a bunch of things I can do on my own anyway, then get a dessert party at the end. Put me down for "No." How about a "Behind All These Construction Walls" Tour? That would be able to run for the next 10 years or so.... ;)

    10 years without any wonders

I remember going there as a kid and loving Cranium Command above everything else there. I'd dearly love to see some sort of reboot of that pavilion. It still kills me that it's just sitting there in the middle of the park.

    Cirque's La Nouba Closing?

With all the cash grabs TDO had put in place over the recent past, I wonder if the rather high prices for tickets to La Nouba are a factor in it's apparent decline in popularity. With so many other ways to give your money to WDW now, perhaps people just choose to pass on this show, especially...

What Makes Your Disney Vacation Magical?

I like the pure espcapism of it all. We have done DME for years, and I never really feel any need to get off property. I agree there is something about getting on that bus at the airport and getting excited about arriving at whatever resort we are staying in. It's such an immersive experience...

Look what happened to the Stars and Motor Cars floats!

I don't miss that parade in the least. Put me down for "Meh".

    Favorite deluxe resort

While my nostalgic favorite is always the Contemporary, I have to say we really love Animal Kingdom Lodge. I've stayed there 4 times and loved every one of them. Amazing theming, wonderful cast, great restaurants, that pool, and of course the Savannah. Our last trip we were upgraded to a...

What he said. But the boats are totally worth the walk. Love taking them over to MK.

What parts of WDW give you the feeling of nostalgia?

The queue for Space Mountain. Always triggers memories of standing in line with my Dad and sister as a kid. Happily waited an hour or more to ride and never complained. Riding Peter Pan. Walking out of the Train Station onto Main Street. Crossing the bridge into Adventureland. Walking...

    3 Train Operation 12/20

I did the Magic Behind the Steam Trains Tour several years ago and it gives an amazing look at these beautiful locomotives and the day to day operations. You spend time backstage at the roundhouse as well (as a monorail nerd I was geeking out since the roundhouse sits directly below the...

Unmagical Day at the Magic Kingdom

I just realized that the originator of this trainwreck goes by Katiebug101...which is appropriate given that this entire thread is 101....
