I have never stayed here before and was looking at just getting a standard room. my question is, if i get a standard room and not club level is it a far walk to the lobby or food area, buses and boat? we will be traveling with small kids and just trying to see what is best.

Do they give room upgrades often? I have a standard room booked, but would love a room with a bunk bed for my boys. I got an upgrade in 2014 when I stayed in the AKL

One warning with standard view is that you may be overlooking the loading dock. Had that wonderful view once, and let's just say they get some mighty early deliveries. Those backup beeps are really annoying at sunup!

I've never heard of that upgrade happening. You would never spring bunk beds on guests who didn't book that type of room and if you ask, they will gladly let you pay the up charge if the room is available. I can't imagine them giving you one for free.

The only time something like that happened to me was our first stay at WL in 1995. My husband and I had our then 6 y/o daughter and 11 y/o son and didn't know about the bunk bed rooms when we'd booked the trip. At the front desk they asked us if we'd like to switch to a bunk bed room for no additional charge but that was a loooooooong time ago lol.

I think that's a double upgrade. There's a category for "courtyard view" after standard view, which is what I wanted, but all that was left was "courtyard view with bunk bed" which I didn't need, but had to book to get the courtyard room.

I can't remember the price difference between the 3 options.

We stayed @ WL in Feb 2016- we requested room w/ bunks thru travel agent -
no issue that way. May have cost about a $12 upgrade per night, well worth it. The bunk size was ok for 12 yr DD, a little cramped for her older brother. Also requested a pool view at original registration, and that was no problem at all.

In Winter 2014 I stayed at WL for 3 nts. Had Woods View booked. Was traveling with two teens and our room had bunk beds. #4006. Woods View queen + bunks.

Yeah, we've stayed there many times and I've never seen an upgrade from say a standard to a bunk bed room. We have many times though booked a standard view and been given a courtyard view. Generally in recent years we've been booking the bunk bed rooms as the kids are older and the regular queen beds aren't to their liking to share!

I thought it was more like $50-$70 per night.
