    I passed!!!!!!!!!

Most of you probably won't care, but today I passed my comprehensive exams for my PhD program! I have been waiting 19 days now to hear the results. If I hadn't passed I would have had one more chance to take them or get booted out of the program. This is sooooo WDW related for 2 reasons...

    Wheeling and Dealing...

Actually, I am completely worthless. I spent all day at school examining every detail of MK, HWS, and AK maps. And reading the Disney food blog. Then when I literally had nothing else to read/examine, I started watching reruns of my favorite sitcoms on ABC online. My professor who holds my...

    Wheeling and Dealing...

Ok, I'm so proud of myself this morning I just had to post my accomplishment. We are buying annual passes this year because we are going 3 times within the 12 month period. As you know, these things are crazy expensive, so we've been spreading out our expense over 4 months. I noticed when I...

Becanya's Great Year of Celebrations Pre-Trip Report

Well, we are down to the 60 day mark, and getting incredibly anxious. Actually, here in TN today we got all the hurricane/tropical storm rain...for the past three days actually. For some odd reason, it's felt like Wilderness Lodge all day to me! I think it has something to do with waking up...

    How do you do it?!???

We just started going to Disney in 2009, but by Jan we will be taking our 6th trip to WDW or HHI Disney. We aren't wealthy people, but we do like to vacation. As far as trips to WDW go, we own DVC and thus by AP (because you get the discount). So when I think of adding on another trip (our...

Becanya's HHI "boy did I need another vacation" trip report...

I completely agree with you. We LOVE Disney, but we have always loved HHI because it's so much more relaxing and everything there is just so easy. So we bought DVC at Wilderness Lodge and at HHI. That way we get a relaxing vaca every year and a crazy fun vaca every year. We are heading...

Becanya's HHI "boy did I need another vacation" trip report...

If you are trying to book through DVC you have to book at least 7 months in advance to the day! It's crazy hard to get a reservation. We were able to get a day off the waitlist though. But if you are booking through cash you can get a reservation a little easier. We are going in October and...

    Our first HHI trip report

So glad you guys had fun! We'll have to try Parrot Cove next time...we had never heard anything about it, but the crab pasta sounds great!

Which place can come closest to capturing the feeling of Disney?

Sometimes I get just a hint of it at random places we visit, but rarely as sustained as when we are at Disney: - Nashville zoo playground makes me feel a little of the magic...it's crazy cool. - City Museum in St. Louis. Disney's Hilton Head Island resort has a whole different type of...

Becanya's HHI "boy did I need another vacation" trip report...

YEAH!!! Isn't it just a fantastic place? Still has the Disney magic, but feels like a vacation from it all at the same time. What did you get to eat at Steamers? Their corn fritter appetizer is really awesome. And which frosty frog did you get? I'm actually wearing my tie-dye shirt right...

You can now buy park tickets and APs at all resorts!

But just to clarify and make sure I understand, your AP will still be on a different KTTW-type card, not your KTTW for that stay, right? So you still have your normal KTTW with your room key and meal plan and charging privileges, then a second one that is your AP.

You can now buy park tickets and APs at all resorts!

I called Wilderness Lodge front desk 3 months ago and they told me that option was only available at one or two of the resorts. Not Wilderness Lodge. Since that's where we always stay, it's definitely an improvement for us!!!

You can now buy park tickets and APs at all resorts!

Hmmm....I don't know about those. Didn't you have your MNSSHP tickets mailed to you? that's what I always do. I'd just call guest services, or the main desk at your resort, and ask there.

    Chef Mickey's walk-in?

I agree with previous posters, but we did walk-in to Crystal Palace last October on a weekend day. We walked up at 11AM and we seated by 11:20. My recommendation is to go extremely early for whichever meal you choose, and try breakfast or lunch over dinner. Also, keep trying every single day...

You can now buy park tickets and APs at all resorts!

I'm with you guys, I don't understand why it has taken so long. I have fretted over exactly where I need to exchange my voucher, and been worried that it would be a hassle. I am so excited that we can just do it all in one place now!

Thanks, Nemo...we have this same problem and I've been worried about it!

You can now buy park tickets and APs at all resorts!

This is probably old news...if it is please forgive me. I did a search and couldn't find it anywhere else. I just got off the phone with DVC and they told me that they just got the email this week that you can now buy park tickets and annual passes at the concierge desk of all the resorts...

    have you ever been...?

My son got picked to be the kid that they interview. He was 5 at the time. Wouldn't look an adult in the eye and answer a question to save his life, but when he got up on that screen he became a different kid. Talked clearly, answered the questions, and was oh so proud. Such a great Disney...
