Which place can come closest to capturing the feeling of Disney?

Just walking on the beach at Hilton Head island. That and my suite here in crappy Ohio! All decked out in Disney/ Polynesian style. Michigan fan by the way.

The couple of Rainforest Cafe's we have here can give me a hint of the feeling I get from WDW(first Rainforest I ever went to), but other than that...nothing compares.

When I'm really craving it, I just listen to the whole monorail audio track and I feel it

2007 was a good year for baseball. Red Sox won the World Series if I remember correctly. :)

Game 7 of the 2004 ALCS. By far the greatest moment in Yankee stadium history. Fond, timeless memories.

It was insane that they came back from 0-3 and then not only won four in a row in the alcs, but they went on to sweep the series too! It's gotta be the best 8 game winning streak of all time.

This is what I was going to say. In fact, a trip to rainforst cafe once resulted in a disney trip. Just eating dinner there was enough to get us to plan a disney trip.

Always special to return to Yellowstone National Park or Mackinac Island.

Mackinaw Island is a good one. It makes me think of a real version main street USA. Especially how main street has the train station, and how if it were a real place, that would be your main mode of transportation. And on Mackinaw Island, there is the ferry terminals, which is your only mode of transportation.

The moment I step off a plane on any Hawaiian Island, I get that special feeling of being somewhere "Very Special". I feel very lucky to be there.

Almost exactly how I feel when walking through Orlando International at the beginning of a WDW vacation.

And like in Orlando, the feeling doesn't go away until I'm back on the plane, ready to head home.

Pales in comparison to Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge.
/ Protip: Do not let on that you are routing for the team playing LSU

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING compares to Saturday Night in Baton Rouge!
It isn't a Disney warm and fuzzy "coming home" feeling. It is raw adrenaline.
Protip 2: If you are in (or near) the student section, wear earplugs.

I personally have 2, both involving Football. I havent been to many other big places like monuments or other big cities so this is all I have, lol.

The Saints first game back in the Superdome in 2006 after Hurricane Katrina. You didnt have to be a Saints fan or a football fan in general to feel what that meant for people in this city. That had to do more with the city then the football game itself. That feeling of some type of normalcy at that point in time was huge for anyone there. I'll never forget that feeling and to top it off, we beat our arch rivals, the Falcons which kinda put the cherry on top of it all, lol.

The second was when the Saints won the Superbowl. I had a chance to go to the game with my boss but I respectfully declined because If the Saints won, then I wanted to be here in this city for it, not in Miami. That was another feeling that was so much greater then just another football game, that meant more for this city then almost anything else.

Scuttle pointed out LSU and Michigan as overrated, sounds like he has something against Les Miles, lol.

Nicely put R W B.

Come to think of it, entering Baton Rouge via the river bridge on Friday prior to a game on Saturday does come close to the Disney feeling. Seeing the stadium from the top of the bridge is much like coming home and since I went to school there (many years ago), it kinda does have the feeling!

Sometimes I get just a hint of it at random places we visit, but rarely as sustained as when we are at Disney:
- Nashville zoo playground makes me feel a little of the magic...it's crazy cool.
- City Museum in St. Louis.

Disney's Hilton Head Island resort has a whole different type of magic, but it's amazing nonetheless. So much so that we made it our third home after Brentwood, TN and Wilderness Lodge. :ROFLOL:

I went to Yankee stadium in 2008. Me and my dad wanted to see it before it was torn down. It was good and a great experience, but wrigley and Fenway blow it out of the water. There's something about wrigley and Fenway that just can't be described in words.

Have always wanted to see Wrigley and Fenway and I WILL in the near future.
