My family and I were there Oct 31 - Nov 6 last year, which happened to be the week before Jersey week. Monday to Friday was great, no lines at all. Weekend(Saturday) was busy at epcot(am) and MK(pm)

If i'm not mistaken, if you have young children in your party, you may be able to jump the line. I think parties with children under 4 pre-board.

Lunch at the castle worked out well. We had a relatively early lunch reservation and everything went pretty smoothly(didn't have to wait for any of the characters for very long). Food was pretty good. The overall experience was terrific and worth doing.
