Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

Disneyland is cutting hours for RotR. Park stays open until midnight on the weekends and they cutoff Rise at 8 or 9 and close an hour later. The entire opening week, they have done 70 primary groups + backups even though half of the days are 8am-midnight rather than 9 to 9. Disneyland also only...

Disneyland's Rise Of The Resistance - Reviews, Criticism, Deep Thoughts

The bluetooth used to read the parks app off your phone, but it stopped working for me midway into summer and hasn't been fixed since.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opening reports and using Boarding Groups at Disneyland

The ride has cuts off new groups at 9pm to close soon after every night. Today is only really an hour shorter day for them.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opening reports and using Boarding Groups at Disneyland

The problem is that a 3-4 hr wait (to be fair it would likely be 5-6 hrs on peak days) would on historical performance incur you at least one 90+ minute downtime. In the worse case scenario, one of the days had 4 hours of downtime, you would wait over 7 hours to get on. How do you deal with...

Disneyland's Rise Of The Resistance - Reviews, Criticism, Deep Thoughts

Characters are expensive, Florida is doing guest recovery the smarter way by handing out items that have no effective cost. Boarding group that doesn't get to ride. Recovery from a boarding group tomorrow to multiple FPs on later days to also giving entire boarding groups 1 day park tickets...

Disneyland's Rise Of The Resistance - Reviews, Criticism, Deep Thoughts

Unlike Smugglers Run, people in Florida actually seem to like Rise alot. I think that Smugglers Run will be the next Star Tours of Disneyland, 10 minute waits in the evening. RotR looks like after the cool down of opening it will be a Racers/Space crowd draw.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

Depends because the ground is already drilled/capped for multiple sets of switchbacks for the ropes and poles between there and almost all the way down to the train tracks. They are capable of adding some major line length in the park, rather than run it backstage like MFSR.

1-Day Trip Advice: Monday Dec 9 vs Tuesday Dec 10

Monday is not the day to visit. There are higher crowds because people who take days off or are on alternative work schedules get a three day weekend and use Monday/Friday as an extension of their weekend. Coming from someone who oversees a team, people who place leave usually extend weekends...

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

That's an instore display in Europe. They are sold to pro-AV users for digital signage, they are designed for retail environments. Uptime might be an issue over months, but i can say that the LED walls that Disney has required panel replacements once or twice a month. These don't fail by...

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

The spinner system is designed for pro-AV/digital signage in either a single unit or wall array setup. They can be used without a shield as long as people wont touch them while running. Simple solution is to install them a reasonable distance from the ride vehicle and just have sensors to detect...

Disneyland to unveil centralized FastPass kiosk for 3 Tomorrowland rides in pilot program - OCR/SCNG

I think they are testing for SWGE. I don't think they want fastpass kiosks for each ride, and by not giving out paper they reduce the litter issue that appeared once they stop taking the paper stubs.

News Epcot Forever to debut as interim show before full Reflections of Earth replacement

WOC and HEA are the some of strongest performing nightshows in the Parks lineup. You probably want them to base a show off of those, rather than some of the show themes Disneyland has gotten such as Mix Magic (w/ Fireworks on Select Nights)(tm). Also at DLR, MSEP/nostalgia came back from the...

News Rebecca Campbell to become new VP Disneyland Resort

Before the merge with Parks & Resorts, the consumer products team was broken up into the North America, EMEA, and Asia groups. I don't know how it will play out at DLR, but the Europe based stores/employees were alot less centralized and homogeneous then NA. Working with the EMEA team was...

Disneyland's Marketing Strategy for 2020??? Because 2019 Was A Mess!

Why is nobody mentioning the Resident Ticket offer? If they bring that out at the older prices they will fill the park. Most crowded weekends this year were the weekends before SWGE opened.

Halloween World Of Colour - Villainous! (Oogie Boogie Bash)

When they ran PtN with normal park crowds the 2nd parade was empty. They quickly went down to 1 a night and even then there was still room. If the capacity is down for a party night, I dont see how the route could fill up.

News SWL Is Proof That Disney Has Lost Its Way

Stardust is the most postively impactful project DLR is going to get between the 60th and 70th anniversaries. Ignoring how empty is it now, navigating the park during high crowds (ie Halloween, Christmas, and Socal Resident Ticket Weekends) was terrible. Disneyland's compactness is a nightmare...

News Disneyland Forever returning June 7; Mickey's Mix Magic to end daily run June 6

The Disneyland Version is lacking next to WDW. Celebrate America with multiple launch sites at WDW is the best firework show that WDPR offers. Otherwise the Disneyland Forever + Celebrate America supershow is probably the best/most expensive show that DLR has run recently.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

If you decompile the apk it becomes clear that the DL app is a modified version of the WDW one. Also a CM was telling me that they had to call someone to update the posted times and that most were fine just leaving an incorrect time up.

What planet would you replace Batuu at Disneyland?

Animatronics could work in the land if they placed some droid/trooper ones on the roofs that the actual troopers hang out on. Droids like the C3PO/R2 from the star tours line would add some life to the exterior spaces. Seems like there are alot of balconies and overhangs in the town/market area...

News Paradise Pier Becoming Pixar Pier

The aftermath will be lets never spent this amount of money again on building a new land when IP rehashes of already standing attractions can create 5 hour posted waits. Time to IP up Thunder Mountain, or rehash Pirates entirely to the new film universe.
