    Length of stay?

If you really want to try to see or do "most" of the attractions, you would probably need about 8 - 10 full days. You could see an awful lot of stuff in less time than that, but to really experience it all at the "semi-leisurely" pace you mention would, I think, take at least that much time.

    Autograph books

They are certainly available at the various resort stores (which are outside of the parks). I am also guessing they are available at the Disney Store at Downtown Disney. However, if you meant, can they be bought at a regular Disney Store, I don't know, but I don't think so.

    Autograph books

Everywhere - they are in virtually every store throughout all the parks and resorts and on many of the merchandise carts scattered throughout the parks.

Moving from one on-site hotel to another?

We almost did the same for our next trip (ended up not doing becuase we took advantage of one of the low priced packages Disney was offereing last fall). The reason I wanted to stay at an on-site value hotel (even if only for the night) was to get immersed in the "Disney magic" right away. I...

    That uncontrolable happiness

It's three more days for us (Feb 11 - 18). We started packing the suitcases yesterday and are bursting at the seams with excitement. My four year old keeps running around the house saying, "I can't wait to go to DisneyWorld!" And, to make things even better, the weather reports for our trip...

    Boma-help

I'm sure you will be able to find some pretty basic things to eat, but you (and your children) might surprise yourselves if you try some of the more exotic fare - you might like it! (and, even if you don't, it's a buffett - so try a bite, if you don't like something, put it aside and go try...

    Valentine's Day weekend

Our family will be there over Valentine's day weekend (and for the rest of the week). We are expecting somewhat large crowds, as it is the President's Day weekend, as well as winter school break where we live and, I am sure, in other places. Wife and I are having dinner at Bistro de Paris on...

    trip planning help

On early entry days, some (but not all) of the attractions are, in fact, open before the normal park opening time. Thus, if you get there during that extra hour, you can ride the attractions that are open with shorter lines (although, there are many who say to stay away from the early entry...

    Poly-concierge-just booked for 3/1-have questions

I heartily second both these comments. Never stayed at Poly concierge, but at both AKL and Yacht Club concierge, the lounge is a great place just too hang out if your room gets too confining, to use to distract the kids with a movie or to read the paper (I can keep up with The Wall Street...

    Current Weather in WDW?

We will be at WDW from Feb 11 - 18 and I am seeing the same weather reports for lows in the 40s. Also running through the same thought processes about efficient packing. Here's my two cents: we have gone often in early to mid Feb. we usually take a light jacket (coming from Michigan, so we...

    Poly-concierge-just booked for 3/1-have questions

Since the trip is so close, you may not want to wait for them to contact you (which they should do). Instead, I would call them and they can they make any arrangements you want to make for you. If you ask, they will also fax or e-mail your intinerary once the arrangements are made (I always...

    Ticket / Resort Question

I was in the same place last year - first trip not a package and not looking forward to having to carry both a room key and a park pass (x4, since I carry the cards for the whole family). However, I don't think you can combine them, or at least I did not find a way to do so. As it turned...

    First Animal KIngdom Visit

I generally agree with this perspective. I love the safari ride and the Pagani jungle trek (if that's the one that has the tigers). Kali River rapids is great (sorry it was closed). My kids love the Boneyard play area. I really like the overall look and feel of the park. AK certainly has...

    Large familys

Not sure I understand - is this a suggestion that the value resorts should have some rooms that sleep up to, say, 8 people to accomodate large families? (versus, of course, having to get two rooms for such a large party).

    Getting around Disneyworld

Never stayed at Carribbean, but I would think the bus to MK, monorail to Epcot and then bus back to your resort would be a bit more convenient than what you are thinking. For what it is worth, however, you may want to rethink leaving the hotel first thing in morning and not returning until...

Yacht Club - Crew's Cup Lounge - Hours of Operation?

I do love Big River, but don't know if I want to head "all the way over" to the Boardwalk at that time of night after having traveled down on that day. It is a good suggestion though, which I will keep in mind depending on whether Crew's Cup is open and, if not, how tired I am from traveling.

Yacht Club - Crew's Cup Lounge - Hours of Operation?

Any idea how late the Crew's Cup lounge at the Yacht Club stays open? We are heading down next week and not arriving until late (10:30ish). I'm wondering if the lounge will still be open at that time should a cooling beverage be required.

    Which deluxe??

Here's another plug for concierge service, which we do whenever we visit WDW and have done at both AKL and YC. It is great at AKL (and I really like the lounge they have there, both for its location overlooking the lobby and the food they put out), but is almost equally as good at YC. It can...

    Which deluxe??

Our personal favorite is the Yacht Club. Location (walking distance to Epcot, MGM and the Boardwalk; easy bus ride to other parks) and pool (Stormalong Bay) cannot be beat. We have also stayed at the AKL and loved the hotel itself, but haven't liked the location and other amenities quite as...

    Jiko or Boma

Never been to Coral Reef, but for great seafood, try Flying Fish over at the Boardwalk.
