Boma-help

We are staying at the AKL in May.

Everyone raves about Boma so I almost feel obligated to go there at least once. Here's my problem. I am a very picky eater - very meat and potato - and I managed to produce two off-spring just like to me.

I've looked at the menu on Deb's website. I'm not sure if I will like anything on there, let alone my children.

Any chance they will have anything we will like?

Meat and Potato kind of family, huh? You guys won't have much of a problem here. There is meat and, in my opinion, the best potatoes on earth (Potatoes with Afritude...Mmmm). Even your kids will be happy if the exotic African food doesn't seem to suit them...there is a fairly large kids area.

Have a great time at Boma...and a great time at AKL...I am so jealous!!!

AKL is without a doubt the most amazing place we have stayed at WDW. Make sure you have requested a Savannah View room. It's extra, but well worth it.

We only managed to eat at Boma one time on our trip, and we did a breakfast and loved it. That may be an option for you. We ate at Mara for many of our meals and enjoyed it.

oh do NOT worry about finding something edible there is lots of good stuff... even if you don't like everything (but do please try some of the different items) I am positive you will find lots of good things to eat *my wicked step father who is totaly not into eating different foos ....as in he eats only mcdonalds and steak, loved the food*

I'm sure you will be able to find some pretty basic things to eat, but you (and your children) might surprise yourselves if you try some of the more exotic fare - you might like it! (and, even if you don't, it's a buffett - so try a bite, if you don't like something, put it aside and go try something else)

Heck, you are going all the way to "Africa," you might as well give the local cuisine a shot.

We went in December and my hubby is a major meat and potatoes type of guy and he did not like it at all....:(

He prefers the Yachtsman or LeCellier instead.

Thanks Pam. I think we will still try it. My wife will love this place. Plus we are going with my brother and sister-in-law, who will also probably like it. If all else fails, my kids will eat the chicken fingers. I am pretty sure I will find something.

If you get a chance breakfast at Boma is excellent as well. Same thing as at dinner, some different stuff but you can get by on the staples of meals as well. Also, they have a juice they only serve there which is probably the best I've ever had. Have fun.

My whole family (DW, twin DDs) only eat meat and potatoes. They eat the prime rib and the potatoes(nothing too weird, they just have a bit of spice on them). I think there are chicken fingers too. It's really good. If you get brave, the soups are the best thing there(along with the desserts).
